We spent 2 nights in this special & unique place. Eder & his family could not have been more welcoming. Our train was delayed so we did not arrive until mid-night but Eder was there on the quayside to collect us. Sadly this meant our time in the lodge was limited.
The room is an individual chalet with large balcony area & separate covered room with a day bed for relaxing & enjoying the views. The large bed was so comfy & the hot water bottles very welcome as was the small fire as it was a bit chilly. Waking up & seeing the expansive view through the panoramic windows was incredible, despite the rain. We couldn't get the shower to work properly, but there was hot water & wash cloths so we were happy with that.
All meals are included & we did not go hungry. The food was simple, delicious & plentiful. If you want beer or wine etc either order it in advance (extra cost) or take you own. We were happy to have a couple of AFD's!
You can visit the local community, go fishing or make handicrafts. Eder is lovely host & guide. Or you can simply sit, relax & read a book enjoying this unique environment. I never thought that I would be making a bird out of reeds & twine at my age! It was great fun.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here & would highly recommend staying on the Uros Islands if visiting this area. Wish we had more time!

Eder picked us after a long travel from a small port at night to his island, a hot huge and tasty dinner waited for us at his place.

We thought we will sleep there only one night and then go to the tourist trip. but, once we get there we fell in love with this place and decided to stay another night and a full day at this place.

The rooms are very big and really beautiful with a panoramic huge window to the lake, so you can see the sunrise or the sunset from the bed. in addition, inside the room you have a huge bad, a heater and hot water for bath (the pressure of the water is not very strong). more than that, every room has a private terrace which contains a private dinnig room, a hammock above the water, a copule of comfortable chairs and a bed, all located infront of the lake.
The island is located in a isolated place so it is a very peaceful place with a lot of birds and ducks around you. not like the other islands that are mostly commercial and authentic.
the meals are great, they are big, tasty and freashy (Eder go to buy the Ingredients every day in the morning from puno). they serve the meals to the private dinnig room in the terrace or to a huge dinnig room whice located also with a view to the lake. the meal include appetizer, a main course and a dessert, all made with a lot of love and served by Eder.

Eder himself is a very friendly person, he knows to speach 5 different languages, he was interested in our culture, and we felt that he entered us to his home, life and tradition. Eder took us in his special traditional boat to put a fishing net and to see his community of his own free will. he explain us everythink we wanted to know.

We felt that we had two days in heaven, and we didnt want to leave rhis place.

We highly recommend it!

This is a wonderful little but comfortable lodge in Uros on Lake Titicaca (Grey Puma). Eder has built it with his father and grandfather on a floating island in the lake. No wi-fi but some cellular but go there for the incredible peace and quiet; unplug for a bit. Eder will lead you in craft activities, fish farming and a tour of the lake if you wish. The food is simple but delicious. We spent two nights there in heaven.
Eder is married with two delightful children.

If you want a little adventure in your holiday, then a couple of overnight stays on a floating island will deliver that.
We really enjoyed the tour around the islands with the lodge Manager. He explains how the society works, fascinating stuff. Also we went fishing and caught 7 fish. If you are brave or stupid enough, you can go swimming in the lake. Waking up in the morning and watching the boats go past from your bed is very special.
Not for everyone? The transfers worked well but you need to be quite mobile and put up with cold weather. The rooms were very cold at mid September (helped with hot water bottles) and even for meal times we sat mostly with jackets on. And of course don't forget bathroom. It's a non flushable toilet and solar powered hot water, not always reliable.
The food was good if simple but little choice of alcohol.
We were really glad we stayed on an island and also with this family who really try to make your stay special.
Great memories.

Edar and his family run the best hotel of the Uros islands. He has a small island he made himself that includes 2 private guest counters that each have balconies and a bed to relax on outside. The room was extremely clean and luxurious. This truly is a one of a kind experience. I recommend staying here over staying at puno. I felt I really got a special local experience here one that you could not get doing one of the big group tours. Edar took us explore other islands and explained how to make the islands and what it is like to live there based off of his first hand experiences. This tour was very private and personal. He also took us fishing and I even got to explore on my own with one of his canoes. Not to mention the food that his wife makes is amazing and I never went hungry!! This is a once in a life time experience. Thank you so much Edar for the amazing experience!!

We had a great time here! Eder is wonderful. He took the time to explain all about his community and show us around the lake. He and his family are so accommodating and served us delicious meals. The room is huge, clean, and so beautiful. Everything is all natural and so amazing. We had a hot shower thanks to solar power, and got to go fishing and eat our bounty. He organized trips for folks who wanted to explore further, and was so flexible with what guests wanted to experience. What an incredible and peaceful place.

One of the highlights of our entire trip to Peru. It is such an authentic experience to see how the families of Uros have lived for generations. The meals were elaborate and delicious, and I don’t know how they do it! We loved our time here; try to stay if you can.
