We were part of a tour group that stayed here and the hotel was excellent. To get to the island, we endured a 4+ hour boat ride each way to/from Puno, (which is not the hotels fault), so I recommend you either stay a few days, or find a better boat than we had to get you there. The rooms...

This is a gem! Far away from maddening crowds, this enclave of rest and relaxation is the perfect getaway and a tribute to sustainability in this age of consumption. The sunsets are magnificent, the staff warm and friendly and there is nothing they wouldn't do for you. Whether canoeing around the island, hiking to the top of the hill to...

Casa Andina Suasi Island is an overlooked-gem of a place! First, disregard what Frommers says; it doesn't take 5-6 hours and $300 per person to get there. You can book a trip with any number of travel agencies in Puno that visits both Uros and Taquile and arrives at Suasi in time for lunch; and even takes you back to...

We just returned from a 10-day trip to Peru. We spent our last 2 nights on Suasi Island at the Casa Andina. It was the perfect way to end an amazing trip. Suasi Island is a relaxing and romantic destination. The staff makes you feel right at home. The rooms are cozy, and the service is great. This place is...

This property is stunning - you can't believe you're high in the Andes - it reminded me of the Amalfi coast. The rooms are spacious but do vary. Room 108 in particular looked very nice, but all rooms I saw were quite good. This island is the definition of peace and quiet with beautiful gardens, alpaca, and resident vicuna. The...

Suasi is one of the most beautiful places we've ever been. The Casa Andina Private Collection is a very special place. The lodging, food, and service were excellent. It is worth every penny and it is even worth the long, tourist-trap boat-ride. Even though we had been in Peru for more than a week, and were accustomed to the altitude,...

The joy of travel is not in viewing monuments. It is in seeing people with different traditions than our own go about the daily routines of life. Authentic cultures are disappearing. The world is rapidly becoming Canada. If you want an intimate glimpse of a genuinely different culture in a largely unaltered condition, go to Casa Andina on Islas Suasi,...

We booked our rooms through AllWays Travel in Puno, and while we knew we were headed to an eco-lodge on Suasi, we had no idea how luxurious it would be. Besides the 4 of us, there was only one other guest at the hotel, so we had the run of the island. We were there for only 24 hours (if...
