The American owner is M.I.A. His wife Rhodora and their daughter are left running the place. The rooms were clean and beautiful with ocean views. There is no restaurant there but they provide cooking utensils and a cooking area was at each room. They have 2 restaurants that deliver there. We cooked most of the time. Most true surfers are... Do not believe the pictures of this place. They are from when the place was new. Now it is run down and in disrepair. Calling this a budget hotel does a disservice to budget hotels. There were many dogs on the property, the pools and all were full of tainted water and falling apart, the many fish tanks on the... More

Just recently I/we returned to Pirates Cove for a brief stay. The welcome we received from Rhodora and Kelly was like being welcomed home by family. We really like the Cove and wish we could have stayed much longer. I highly recommend The Cove to anyone looking for a unique hideaway. And that do not mind doing for themselves. A... More

My family and I live in the Philippines. We have been going to Borongan once or twice a year for the past five years and always stay at Pirate's Cove. Its a great place to chill out for a few days... or weeks. Kids have plenty to do in Pete's fanciful pools and the reef always has something new to... More

I spent a lot of time at Pirates Cove between 2010 and 2012. Summer time here is great for boating and having a beer and bbq on the bay bay in Borongan. Rawis resort (just a restaurant) which is just around the corner from Pirates Cove serves a great spicy chicken and calamares in an oceanside setting. At high tide... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Pirates Cove was established in 1992 - first in the region. We try hard to insure our visitors coming all the way here have a good time. We are more of a self-serve place with kitchens in the rooms, restaurant delivery - keeps it less expensive. Surfing, Diving out front, kids water park, pools, gas bbq, good meat shop, climbing wall, bikes, billiards, slot car track, cable, a/c, fridges in all rooms, aquariums, jacuzzis, river tubing, caves, kayaking, eco treks. We help travelers with a large range of services, getting boats, where to go, rides to town for supplies, facilitating their interest, etc. We don't charge for these things, so folks can have a good time. We are not lace and glamour, but more of a hands-on place sitting on the edge of the world. Very comfortable, relaxing and quiet. But, things to do here are very exciting, if you're into the outdoors. Folks visiting have to make their own entertainment. Bars and discos are in town 10 min away. So if that's your thing just walk over the bridge - it's close and easy. ... more   less
