As has been referenced by other reviewers this is not the Ritz. However in my opinion the location and price more than made up for the lack of facilities. The hotel is located on the top floor of an apartment block down a side alley. You need to buzz up at a metal outside door and then walk up a...

Have stayed in Moscow before so knew what to expect, but there were a few things that could really improve this hotel/hostel. Firstly it is a little tricky to find and asking in a few neighbourhood shops, none had heard of the place. The website would be better doing a section showing google map pics rather than just a location....

Stayed here for 3 nights in September 2013. As others have mentioned, the location of the Petrovka Loft is great - a 10/15 minute walk from Red Square and the Kremlin once you know where you're going. Convenient for the Metro too. We didn't find it too difficult to find, but we did have a good look on StreetView before...

Very Clean, Very Friendly, Very close to red square and metro stations. It took me 1 hour to find the place because is actually inside an unmarked little courtyard and you have to climb the 160 steps or so to the 4th floor, sorry guys, no elevator here, I would go back any day but with less luggage :)

Thank you for staying at the Petrovka Loft!

Amazing location but the rooms are damp, there were only 2 toilets and 2 showers working when we stayed there ( for around 10 rooms). My sheets had holes in them. the entire space smells damp. Feels like a bad hostel. Apart from the location absolutely don't recommend.

This hostel is more expensive than others in Moscow yet of lesser quality. The sheets were stained and had holes in them. The ad said it was recently renovated which is true, but it was very poorly done: the are water stains in all ceilings, the toilet area stinks. The neighbourhood is high end, so don't think you will get...

I stayed for 1 night in a terrible room without a window and then moved out. I soon learnt that there are far more better budget hotels at the same price - THAT HAVE WINDOWS! Just because this place is in the Lonely planet book does not make it right to charge R3000 for a dodgy room. Its really hard...

Take note of the hotel's instructions as it can be a little tricky to find but not impossible. Look for the archway to the rear of no. 15 - proceed in to arch to second building on left and the third door that has a small sign with hotel name. Use the smaller of the 2 bells and the door...

I am a true world traveler. I love 5 star hotels and 5 star service. But, let's face it. Some cities are way too expensive. Petrovka Loft is in the high end shopping district of Moscow. I loved it. I got a room with a window. The view was of a tree in central Moscow. The shared bathrooms worked out...

Bit surprised to read some of the comments below - had an excellent time at Petrovka Loft. Whilst I agree it's not got all the creature comforts of a standard hotel, it's a massive step up from a hostel and considering its amazing location (bang in the centre of town on a great street with lots to do) it is...

Staying in Tverskaya

Neighbourhood Profile
Tverskaya
Tverskaya can’t be discovered with just a first glance, the neighborhood is shaped around a long street populated with well-known shops and brands. But it’s more than shopping that makes this place interesting. Take a few steps into the streets running parallel to the main artery to discover the charm just behind the mighty Stalinist style architecture. Comfy European pedestrian streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka or Stoleshnikov lane are a great place to start. Locals can be found here working, eating, shopping, resting and going to the Bolshoi Theatre in the evening.

“As its so hard to find...prior to your visit go on StreetView by Google and note where it is. Eg through an arch opp bank, next to Longines Jewellers and if you get to the pharmacy you've missed it...P.S. it's the second building through the arch and 2nd door code for door with Petrovka on it is 41B1166”
