The room did not impress me, big but a bit empty. The room cleaning did not come until late in the afternoon the first day and the amenities are not great. They just forget that you may take more than one shower during your stay. So bring your shampoo

However I have to say that the bed and the mattress is fantastic. The best I had since a long time. Just brilliant.

Our family stayed here on our Christmas visit to Moscow. The first night we were there, we had very loud neighbors, but the rest of our stay was quiet and uneventful. The staff was very courteous and provided us both with a roll-away cot for our daughter, and with a mini refrigerator for our week-long stay.

We found the location to be perfect for our needs. The trams, buses and metro were all within a few meters out the hotel door. While we did not eat in the hotel restaurant, we noted it seemed to offer a variety of items.

The biggest frustration for us was the smell of cigarette smoke in random spots throughout the hallways to our rooms, sometimes even drifting into our space. Although the hotel is advertised as "smoke free", it's clear some patrons don't adhere to the policy.

Monastery view room was spacious, but dated. Tired furniture, ripped off chair, dirty carpet. Noname toiletries and rusted shower. No upgrade for a Platinum member. No recogntion of status at all - welcome drink was not offered, has to follow up 3 times to get welcome points after all. Location is not walkable at all, however there is a tram stop in front of the hotel that brings you to the city centre and a metro station in 10 minutes walk.

Hi there, frqtv, We value our IHG Rewards Platinum Elite members like you. Thank you for staying at our Holiday inn Moscow - Tagansky and for taking the time to give us feedback. We wanted you to have a stay that made it easy to work, rest, and connect. It's disappointing to know that we did not live up to your expectations. Came with a large school group of 56 people and stayed one night here. Lovely modern and clean hotel. Good choice of food and nice restaurant area. Very reasonable price. Centrally located and close to the underground train station. Staff helpful and friendly.

I was there from Sep 8 to Sep 12 (2022), with my family and a group of other iranians. My sister and I had a twin room. Everything was very nice: our room, the breakfast, staff, housekeeping. I really enjoyed my time there. Check in process took a while, since we were about 40 people. But aside from that, everything was good. Specially muesli and croissants!

The hotel is fine, however, at check in I was told that breakfast was included for the week of the stay. Was later told that it was just a trainee that told me that, and it’s not included. The guy has been the only person working afternoons this week, so not sure if it believe that. Feel like the management could’ve made it right and didn’t bother.

I needed to spend one night in this hotel. Rooms are ok, receptionists are very welcoming. Price was high, but probably because of pre-Xmas/NY holidays time, I know in summer it was cheaper. Now to bad things.

When I arrived I had quite a lot of bags, porter saw us getting out of taxi, but didn't move to help. When I came to him and asked if they have a trolley to move bags in, he literally answered "yes, we do". So I have to carry all bags in myself. Mind that I was just from the plane from South America wearing not too warm clothes, and it was pretty cold in Moscow. Next day expecting little help from porter I took the trolley myself, loaded all my stuff from the room, and went down the elevator. In the hall again, porter saw me and just didn't do any move. He even didn't help to open/hold the hotel doors, which is a bit tricky if one follows another, and you are pulling trolley with heavy luggage. Only when I started loading bags into the car the porter came out of the hotel to me. Not to help though. He requested me to put the trolley back into the hotel hall as soon as I finish.

Just unbelievable for $200+ / night.

Also in the morning (I arrived late and slept till 10-11 may be) somebody knocked and entered into my room, I guess a cleaning lady. But that has happened to me in other hotels eventually, so no additional penalty for this.

Coming back to the Hotel, after a long day at the office, should be relaxing, like the Keycard was saying "Now relax"... Well not exactly.
Starting from the good parts, the rooms are very clean, and spacious. The location worked for me since the workplace was very close. And the breakfast was pretty good. Nice variety of hot and cold dishes. That's about it..
Walking distance from elevator was quite long for me, since the hotel is built mostly on length, not height.
Wifi works only on first floor, and there is "free" cable internet for everyone BUT it's 128kbps internet. I didn't care for it when checking in, but as soon as i logged in, i felt like going back to the medieval era. barely enough bandwidth to receive emails, forget about anything else. I don't remember any modern hotel that has this policy, either the internet is free, and rate is actually included in the room, or you can pay for it, but room rate is cheaper. I guess here the owners chose to get few more bucks.
One of the evenings I had the pleasure of dining in the hotels restaurant, the food is good, and the beer is better. At the end i ordered the check, but the waitress heard "more" (on the beer) and brought me another beer. i said i didn't order another beer, she said she is sorry, but she already brought it, and she can't pour it back. Then brought me the check with 2 beers. i don't know about you, but i don't think 10 bucks worth a pissed guest. Very poor service behavior.
And lastly, about 10 minutes before my checkout, one of the chair's legs broke. i cough myself before landing on any vital body parts, but it could end worst. i told about that when checking out and except some laughs and a promise to "fix the chair", no compensation was offered.
Bottom line, not so much relaxing experience. I think next time i would rather take the metro for half an hour and stay at a further hotel, then come back to this one.

having lived in moscow and having married a russian girl 20 years ago i knew what to expect when visiting my wifes family.
The hotel is nice and clean ,rooms good, still found it hard work to get constantly good service at the bar... but thats everywhere in russia! The metro is 5-7 mins walk, go under the underpass ,passing under the large horizontal branch ( you will smile when you see it) go right at the bank and follow the path for 5 mins, just before the metro stop is a bar called KRUSHKA(sign in orange) where you can get a decent pint of beer for 60 rubles ( £1.40) ,reminded me of a orange walkabout pub !1 min further up the road is a italian/japanese restaurant which does a good pizza ,still on the same side another 3mins walk on the right is a american grill bar/restaurant which is well worth a visit ( think its called torro) The area around the hotel is very good for moscow ,so please dont be put off by that ...4 stop on the metro and you will find yourself in the centre!

Holiday Inn is a Holiday Inn so what more is there to say.

Well that’s not entirely fair because the staff at this one were great, and that’s not something you can say about all Moscow hotels!

A decent bar and well above average breakfast are plus points. Gym was closed when I stayed so can’t comment on that.

If you need to be in this part of Moscow then this place is worth considering
