We spent 5 nights at this hotel in December. We found the room comfortable and well maintained. Nice beds and bedding. Good shower and bath in our room which was massive. We had a giant tv in our room which helps with 2 kids. The gym facilities were excellent... good selection of machines, free weights, pool, sauna.
We especially enjoyed breakfast which was in a beautiful breakfast room, really nice food and very attentive staff. Particularly appreciated that once we had been for one day the waiting staff knew which coffee we had and brought it without us even asking: a lovely personal touch and I hope the holiday inn management appreciate their excellent waiting team on the breakfast shift. We certainly did!

The location is literally across the road from Sokolniki metro stop and from there it's about ten minutes to the red square metro stops ... no need to change line. There's also Sokolniki park which is a short walk directly behind the metro: really nice park with ice skating etc.
This hotel is a giant but don't let it put you off: in our view it's a good location and a hotel where they've got things right! Well done on this one holiday inn!

I liked almost everything about my stay. The location was absolutely ideal for me right by the town center at the walkable distance to everything: local parks, shops, malls, museums. The reastraunt where the breakfast was served was really brilliant, the hotel has decent breakfast selection from cold to hot dishes, different types of plant milk, vegan food, different kinds of porridges. Also the hotel has a huge storage room so you can keep you stuff safely.

My room overlooked the inner yard. The lightning in the room was beautiful, the hotel itself has sound proof windows so has all the location look and feel of a brand new hotel, and window views, without sacrificing a quiet nights sleep. The bathroom was slick and nice and the soaps were moisturizing and nicely scented. The soaps and shampoo/conditioner were pumps so felt easy to access.

But there are some things that I dont like completely. The hotel had many rooms and floors which made it seem as If I was in a maze. Sometimes I got lost and couldn't find the way to my room. The rooms could be bigger for two people. And the cleaning service could be more professional and active. Also the stuff at the front desk were not welcoming and nice, they were tired and not interested when I checked in.

The hotel is close to the city center.
Near the metro station Sokolniki.
Cheerful bright interior.
The room is large with a well thought-out working area with two sockets and a chiseled lamp. Small LCD TV. Wide double bed. Stylish bathroom with shower.
There is a kettle, 2 bags of tea and coffee, cream capsules, 2 bottles of water. Good varied breakfast buffet. Excellent value for money and quality.
The hotel is tailored for events.
There is a large conference room with a powerful projector and many workshop rooms equipped with a projector.
Nearby is everything for coffee breaks.
Measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19: thermometry at the entrance, the requirement to maintain social distance, wear a mask, hand sanitizers on tables, masked employees.

I stayed in the hotel as arranged by Somans tours and travels. The hotel room is ok but room heater controller have technical issues. It has a balcony but it's closed due to winter. One thing I specifically want to mention is the restaurant of the hotel. It's difficult to say the restaurant is worth to be in a hotel with star rating. The breakfast spread is very basic. There was no vegetarian items in the menu for dinner and the staff rudely refused to provide even an omelet. Travelers from India can avoid the hotel if the prefer to sleep without an empty stomach

I stayed at the Moscow Sokolniki Hotel between 19 May and 21 May. The receptionist, Denis, did not make us breakfast because we did not have rubles on us, only dollars were left, and the exchange office would open 1 hour later. The room did not print the breakfast fee, did not receive foreign currency, did not allow us to have breakfast. This is a behavior that does not suit a big brand like a holiday inn. We go to many hotels, we travel, even if we do not have breakfast, many hotels help in a situation where we are in a difficult situation, but this is a great disrespect and disrespect. We do not accept credit cards, we have dollars on us and they did not even give water because the exchange office will open in 1 hour. They said. It's okay if you serve your guests like this, it's really a scandal. I've been waiting in the lobby for 1 hour without even drinking water. Your staff says that's the rule. I really congratulate you for putting your guest in such a difficult situation. I never recommend you to stay in a hotel that doesn't even provide water, they don't even give you water even when you're about to die !!!

Dear guest, We would like to inform you, that due the Laws of Russian Federation, any purchase must be only with the use of local currency (RUR), or, otherwise, you can use credit or debit card, that is valid on the territory of the country. Due the internal investigation, we’ve figured out, that you were informed upon arrival, that in case if you would like to use any extra services (such as additional breakfast), it should be paid in advance. In addition, because our employee (Denis) assumed that there might be some language barriers, he decided to deliver this information to you in your native language. After the investigation of this case, we can be sure, that our employee was polite to you and tried to give you recommendations, how to find solution in this situation. The information about possible methods of payment was delivered to you in advance – upon your check-in. The accusations you have voiced are subjective and have no real basis, but on the contrary, they contain information that defames the honor and dignity of the hotel and our employee.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Moscow Sokolniki for two weeks in July-August, 2021. It was the third time we chose this hotel over all other hotels in Moscow. If you are looking for a pompous hotel, this place is not for you. However, if you want a beautiful, modern, clean, bright, just a very happy place to stay – this is the hotel to choose. There is nothing ordinary about this hotel – from a beautiful skyscraper building, wonderful interiors, to one of a kind service you get. Even though the hotel was built almost 20 years ago, it looks like new. Shiny and bright lobby and “logo” white piano just make you happy.
This time we were greeted by manager Yulia. Her greeting was genuine, unique, welcoming, more as if you greet dear old friends than just guests. Yulia reminded us in detail of everything that this hotel has to offer (this is actually a variety of things – fitness area, gigantic pool, sauna, bar, restaurants, room service – you name it). She did not forget to mention that we were missed and the hotel is happy to have us again. During our stay, Yulia would call us a few times to ask if we need anything. All our requests were addressed immediately. What a great service!
Good food, huge breakfast, room service – all exceeds expectations.
The very comfortable beds and pillows make for a perfect night's sleep.
Location is great – it is in old Moscow, just a three-minute walk to the subway station. It will take you anywhere in the city – Red Square, Kremlin, etc. in no time.
If you feel like taking a stroll and breathe some fresh air or just want to get away from the busy city – within a 7-minute walk there is Sokolniki Park, with its beautiful tall trees and numerous flowerbeds. In addition, there are exhibition center, live music and attractions in the park. If you travel with kids –tons of things in the Park to enjoy themselves.
Thanks again to every member of the Holiday Inn Moscow Sokolniki team for making our stay so special!

This Holiday Inn, went from being the best in Moscow to the becoming the worst, working like Russia style. Since they changed the name a bit, but kept the brand to avoid Sanctions. They also changed the services. They should give it a Russian name instead of keeping the brand.
The lack of services , and untrained workers at the reservation desk is unbelievable. I had three bad experiences there in the last 4 moths .
1) I booked a room for one day , than my plan changed, I asked to book for an additional day, called the reservation desk they told me the room was available no problem. So I went to reception desk to book and paid. I found out there are no free rooms, so i had 2 hrs to find another hotel. ( A Palatium Member means nothing in these hotel.
2) I booked and ask for early check-in as i am a Palatium Member. I was assure that this would be noted. I arrived with my family, the room was not ready, told to wait for 2 hrs, so we did, and again the room was not ready . once we got into our room, it was not made as we requested. It took 8 phone calls and 1 hr later with a visit to the front desk to speak to the manager.
3) On Oct 15th 2023, I called in asked to book the Lux Suite. I asked to make sure it free, it took 45 minutes as the person Danil didn't seem to speak English/understand English. At the end i got a booking number and gave my card information. 3.5 hrs later I get a call and was told sorry they over booked and my room was not free. This is a 10 days booking screw up. All I got was sorry. We also pay for the NY party at this hotel. They wanted to offer me two standard rooms. It's like a person wants buy a Mercedes, but was offer two Lada. Managements seem to not care when customer complain to him in person about Danil making these mistakes. A real holiday Inn would fix the issue and made sure the custom was happy , not trying to excuse with I am SORRY.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! There are better hotels in Moscow. Rude and unhelpful staff, my credit card was charged after c-out with no notification from the reception, no receipt, nothing. They refused to help me. Ignore my messages. Said that this was charged not by Holiday Inn, even in the bank receipt there’s a huge logo of Holiday Inn and written that it was charged by the hotel. No one picks up phone at the reception. Even when I stayed there and had issues to connect to WI-FI - no one helped. Operator Anastasia just hang up on me, reception put me on hold and never replied. I’m shocked. Having a golden elite membership at IHG I thought it will help somehow at least to be heard by the staff of IHG hotels. Anyway, awful experience.

Stayed on two sets of nights in one week for two nights each stay. The check-in process was seamless and the staff was friendly and spoke great English. I had breakfast on all days that I stayed and the food was excellent, plentiful, and varied. There was something for everyone and the price was outstanding.

The room was very comfortable, quiet (and I was on the main street side, in front of the hotel), and the bathroom clean, spacious, and a great shower. The only minor complaint was that Moscow was having a bit of a warm spell and I had to cut off the heat as it was getting too warm to sleep, but the window was able to be opened, which made it comfortable, but a little noisier, but really not bad at all.

I would highly recommend this hotel for any American traveler, or any traveler. You will not be disappointed.

Hi! You will need a travel agent to organize the invitation letter for you as this is a mandatory requirement. While you are at it, request the TA to mention a few extra days for the duration of your stay as the visas are issued exactly from the date of entry to the date of exit. This is just as a precaution for any contingency that may crop up to delay your return. Hope this helps.

The Hotel just wanted our Passports (which had the Visa's in them for identification and gave them straight back to us) and a Credit Card to guarantee anything you might want to sign for, such as at the Bar and the mini bar. (There's an nice Chinese Restaurant on the top floor but it's independent from the Hotel and you can't put the cost on your Hotel Bill and they don't take Credit Cards - which is a surprise because everywhere else we went did!)
