Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel in Tula is a 4 star hotel. Don't let that fool you. It's a shabby hotel. Sure, they have a mini bar, cozy slippers and morning coats and aircondition. But the breakfast is horrible. A plate that's ready and contains nothing useful. Then it's an omelette that's basically fried egg and bacon/sausage. It's not a buffet as you might expect. First day the Wi-Fi didn't work, the next morning the lift didn't work. The mini bar was missing items, bc they were out of it. The reception doesn't know any English, but try to be helpful. So unless you just stay one night, find something else. Tula itself is a wonderful city.

The hotel is OK. The staff were helpful and courteous. English was a struggle but workable. The breakfast is at a restaurant associated with the hotel and is passable. Be prepared to have your translation devise because all the menu is Russian and the people there do not speak English.

We stayed at the hotel (room 403) in Oct' 12 for 1 night. Positive: (i) Good location: close to a city center, close to bus stations; (ii) Rooms are new and clean. Negative: (i) Rooms are not soundproof: we were really disturbed by other people talking and laughing in the hall both late at night and early in the morning. (ii) There was NO hot water in our room in the morning. (iii) Receptionist Anna was fully unhelpful. She knows nothing about hotel and city (she couldn't give directions to Yasnaya Polyana by public transport; when we tried to search directions on Internet by ourselves, she couldn't even tell Wi-Fi password and recommended to go back to the room and find it the brochure); (iv) Breakfast is a shame. I believe that you can find much better deal for this price
