Ten minutes walk from the railroad station(good explanation and map on the hostel site ),the entrance is at the back of number 9,Sportivny St.as often in Russia, not right on the street. A bit worn out but clean, two bathrooms , one day excursions to Okhlon,Listvyanka for those on a tight schedule are offered . English speaking staff can also book bus... More

The Trans-Sib hostel is perfectly placed for those with an early train to catch from the train station (a 10 minute walk away). Whilst the hostel itself is quite hard to find, once found the hostel staff were incredibly helpful and informative. Whilst the interior furnishings were a bit dated, the hostel has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Would happily... More

This is a no frills hostel with a super friendly owner - Dasha. She makes it - really helpful, and she speaks English. The Internet is a bit hard to connect to but fine once you get online. The rooms are cosy and very clean. There's a nice living room/kitchen to hang out. And it's only about five mins walk... More

We stayed here for one night between our trip to Olkhon Island and continuing on the Trans Sib in the morning and chose this hostel purely due to its proximity to the train station. There was such an odd atmosphere here - the owner lived in the flat opposite but spent all of her time in the reception (which was... More

This place is very difficult to find. Going into town is easy, you can catch a tram but finding this place coming back is hard. I usually got a taxi and even the taxi driver found it hard to find the place when I gave him the address in Russian. Not sure if I would recommend this place for a... More

We were picked up from the ferry at Irkutsk harbor and taken to the hostel. We couldn't have find it on our own as it was in a small street somewhere without proper identification on the entrance of the hostel. Be sure to ask the entrance code to the building as we didn't and got locked outside until someone else... More

I had stayed there for 4 nights. The hostel is very close from the train staion. Since I had arrived at 5am, I checked in at 6 am. I was there when it's not high season, so sent a message before I arrive. Because I don't want to wait in the outside until the morning. Maria, who was very kind,... More

Positioned a 10 minute walk from the railway and 20 mins walk to centre of town. Nice rooms, shower was a bit small though I'm quite big 6ft2. Hostel was clean was good for the money. WiFi didn't work at all on our second night. Friendly lady on reception, they booked us a bus to Baikal and the hostel provided... More

This is a really nice hostel. Its comfortable and really quiet. Only two other guests when we where there. We did a trip to Olkun Island for two nights and the owner, Dasha told us to take the key with us! This was great as we could come back at anytime and not worry about how to get into the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights during our trans-siberian adventure last month. It is a clean, comfortable and cosy place with a very nice shower and a nice big kitchen. As another user says it is more like a homestay; we were the only people there at the time, and there seems to be space for about 5 guests at... More
