I stayed in this hotel for several days during my business visit. It was booked by the host organization as a hotel popular with westerners. Hotel is dated and might be very posh 20 years ago. Staff is not speaking much English except for a manager. The biggest issue is the internet. There is a wifi in the lobby and... More

I'm seeing some negative reviews. That was not my experience. I was there on a two-week teaching project. Based on my stay, I give this hotel a solid four-star rating. My room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Everything worked - lights, TV, bath facilities, refrigerator. The staff was consistently responsive and pleasant. The garden was as advertised - lovely, charming,... More

The hotel from its external looks may promise a lot, but may be rated as just average for quite a few reasons. First, the air conditioning is switched off and the rooms, lobbies and corridors are quite stuffy. On enquiry the staff says its government policy to switch off AC till mid May. We didn't buy this version since in... More

This was a disappointing experience. This hotel needs to be refurbished quickly. Corridors and rooms are worn out. Some electrical wiring in my room had been mended with black isolation tape. The flushing of my toilet broke down at first try. I left it as it was, and next day it was luckily mended. That means some things work. The... More

I was booked in for a weeklong stay by a group I was working with. The hotel is close to the Tang West Market shopping center and small museum, but unfortunately, not near the major tourist attractions. My room was large, but not particularly well maintained: holes in the carpet, stains on the wall, cracked sink. The included breakfast buffet... More

The facade and the first appearance from the outside - including the fountain with dirty water - are not really promising. However, the lobby is a pleasant surprise (with a copy of the Emperor's chariot right behind the entrance). Wifi works in the lobby only and is fairly slow, but free. A good breakfast with egg station is served in... More

The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood with a shopping mall near by. We had breakfast in the hotel and it was good with mainly Chinese food offered. A negative point was that the WIFI only worked in some rooms and not everywhere but in the lobby it was always fine. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying... More

This is a refurbished hotel and has nice foyer, lounge and bar areas but the bedrooms are not up to standard. Bar service is excellent until the very early closing time approaches. Lots of traffic noise.

The room is good enough, the lobby is very ample; the general apperance inside is a bit down-the-hill, specially the bathroom (my washbasin exibited two long cracks). Toiletries: enough. Wireless connection not available in the room, the cable was meant to work, but with my pc it did not. wireless available in the lobby, but very crazy behaviour. Chinese misteries... More

We slept well but not late due to the chorus of workers songs playing in the complex next door at 8 am. Strolled the neighbourhood in the evening and was completely safe. Crazy market nearby. Or just walk along the lake like the locals. Ask for a corner room.
