Overall the lodging part was pretty good. Service was adequate, perhaps because I spoke the language, which helped. The hotel is essentially more appropriate for Chinese travelers. Western customers likely will have a hard time connecting with the staff. English is still a problem in China. That was the reason I went, to teach English there. The food? You'd better...

We stayed at the hotel in Dec. 2013. The room was nice and clean. Staff was friendly and some spoke English. Location is ok, not far to walk to Green lake and Zoo (15-20 minutes). The only issue is the smell of cigarettes - but that's how it is in China :-) Breakfast is nice with nice selection of food,...

The hotel room was very nice and wifi was excellent. Fresh fruit was provided each day free of charge as was either a coffee or glass of milk in the evening. I mentioned to one of the staff, Ted, that I enjoyed green tea and he immediately sent up a small container of leaves, again free of charge. While most...

Stayed here for 2 nights, had a corner room on the 7th floor (around 20 floors in total) which was very large with a kingsize double bed. One of the male staff at the reception desk who dealt with my check-in was friendly and helpful. Hotel has Wifi (although rather slow) as well as wired internet connection in the rooms....

This is the motto of the hotel, and the staff genuinely try very hard to live up to it. Although most staff don't speak much (if any) English, they make effort to attend to needs. The room I was assigned smelled of smoke and when I inquired about a "no smoking" room, they said they didn't have, but they located...

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. Lynn on the reception desk communicated well in English and was very polite and pleasing to deal with. We talked to the Guest Manager George, who gave an excellent advice. We wanted to visit the Nationalities Village. He suggested we catch bus A1 from two blocks away, costing just 2RMB each. It...

The local hotels in China generally lag in service quality, comparing to the international brands, so my expectation was adjusted going in. Overall, I thought it was clean and friendly. The breakfast very average, but the location was ok. It's what we paid for. No more, no less. There were a couple service issues: an aloof check-in staff, who did...

After a week on the road, this lovely hotel was just what the doctor ordered for creature comfort and service! Breakfast almost over while you are checking in? No problem - they can send your bags right up to your room. Leaving at the crack of dawn on your last day? No problem - they can send you off with...

We were staying for two weeks with the Global Volunteers where we taught English to Middle School students. We found the accommodations very good. Our room and bathroom were kept very clean. The front desk people were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was good with a good variety of food. The restaurant personnel were also very friendly. The only...
