In Japan, you accept that you're going to get a small room by American standards. The Polestar's advantage is location - an easy walk to Sapporo Station, the shopping and transport hub of the city. The room, while cramped, was clean and had a nice view of the city. The included breakfast buffet was quite tasty and filling, and the staff were very helpful. Avoid the expensive shopping area in the basement, as a walk to Sapporo Station will yield far better options. My only real complaint was that the city noise is pretty audible in your room, but overall this was a great place to stay. More

stayed at the polestar on a business trip this month.

the hotel is very close to the JR station, and is about a 10 minute walk to odori, and 20 minute walk to the susukino night life district.

the rooms are standard for any business hotel in japan, but are very clean. the layout of the floors were kinda odd as the elevator opens on one side, and there are double hallways, but you'll be able to find yourself around.

the rooms aren't AS quite as i would have expected, i could hear the person in the room next to me use the bathroom, but nothing that is really bothersome.

our group had a business trip rate, so it was a very good price. people at the hotel are also very nice.

if you are going on business to sapporo definitely stay here, if you are going on leisure or with your bf/gf, id' suggest staying at the JR tower or cross hotel.
