We had booked for a 2-night stay but left after one day. The photos are deceiving, the onsen photos are accurate but our room on the second floor overlooks a tangle of street wires and the road. Be warned that the hotel is not located within a forest as the photos may suggest but it's actually on a road side....

We have visited several places in Japan and it was not the first onsen experience. First of all, the onsen is far out of Kobe to the north. To get there by bus is a little bit difficult. But when you are there, it is a small city living from the tourists visiting the spas and onsen. There a two...

This is a luxurious onsen ryokan but it is not cheap. For room with private bath it costs JPY33,000 (weekend 43,000) per person per night with breakfast and kaiseki dinner. We stayed 2 nights and our room was 201 which has no view (only road and roof). The breakfast was great but dinner was only average. The location is not...

The room and onsen was really nice food also. However, those all good thing as been totally ruined after checked out. The manager has booked the bus for us to sannomiya station 1 hour lately, which can be acceptable, because she has changed again. But, She(Korean manager) advised wrong station to get off. We suppose to get off at sannomiya...

Dinner and breakfast were both amazing, lots of super delicious, well presented dishes fit for a michelin star restaurant. The free private onsens are the best - we went to all 4 of them, loved #4 the most. Great value, because in many onsen hotels private onsen requires additional fee after the first use. Even in late June, the cool...

As above. Travelled dec 2014. Stayed in room 411. Good traditional silver and gold private baths. Silver spring is radium highly regarded by japs but didn't dare soak too long as I did some research it is radiated water. Food and service was good, attentive and courteous. Will be back.

Arima onsen is a great onsen town to visit. It's compact enough (albeit a bit hilly) to walk around, and there are other sights around it (Mt Rokko) that are also within close proximity. Taketoritei Maruyama is slightly further out from the buzz of the main street that's right by the station, but the staff are happy to drop you...
