We stayed 4 nights here.

What I love most is, the room size it is much much more spacious for 2 pax compare to hotel at Osaka.

Cons:
Surrounding abit dark.

Pros:
√ Love the mini kitchen. Came with
Washing machine (washing powder provided)
Refrigerator
Electric water kettle
Microwave
Stove (no cooking utensil provided but can rent it for 500yen/day).

√ Microwave is very good use as we use to heat up food we buy from the nearby 7-11 / Lawson shop for supper and breakfast =)

√ there's few function in the bathroom, can dry clothes.
Separate shower and toilet, so while 1 person showering another person can use the toilet.

√ Nearby a big electronic store to shop for electronic stuff.

√ Walking distance to Kyoto station (10 -15mins) and there's a nearer subway station is about 7 mins walk (Forgot the name 九条 I think, just 1 station away from Kyoto station)

√ Mandarin and English speaking staff.

√ Easy to take bus to Gion . Take bus 202 / 207 Bus stop is about 5 - 8 mins walk, is on the left side from main road.( if didn't remember wrong.)

I would come back here to stay as I like the spaciousness and kitchen.
I think is good for family with children.

only small space to sit at the entrance.. may for 4 - 6 pax..
if got garden will be good, just for chill.

This hotel was the most spacious hotel we stayed in Japan. We booked 2 superior twin non-smoking room with city view. We got to the hotel around around 1:00pm and the staff let us check in early (this is very rare in Japan believe it or not!). The room had 2 double beds, a desk+chair with TV/computer, a small round table with 2 chairs. We also had a mini kitchen with refrigerator, stove, and microwave (no cooking utensil was provided but you can rent it for 500yen/day). The bathroom was small but clean and functional. There is also a washer in the corner, you can dry your cloth in the bathroom.

One thing I love about this hotel was the clear instructions in English showing you how to use the washer, the toilet, and how to dry your clothes in the bathroom. English was one of the things we took for granted until this trip. Almost missed the bullet train to Kyoto because we can't read Japanese.

You can buy bus ticket from the front desk, 500yen/day for unlimited rides. We were able to use the bus to go everywhere we wanted to go: Kiyomizu-dera temple, Nishiki market, Arashiyams bamboo forest, Fushimi Inari Taisha, Nijo-jo castle. The bus stop was 5 minutes walk from the hotel, very convenience.

There was a Lawson 100 store right around the corner, lots of good cheap options for lunch or snack.

Kyoto is a great city to visit. We also had lots of fun just walking around Kyoto station and checking out the restaurants.

I can’t rate this accommodation highly enough. The apartment was very cleverly laid out, with a small washing machine (very easy instructions), some washing powder provided and - and this is the best bit- the bathroom doubled to as a heated drying room! Genius! There was also a hanging sock/knickers holder provided to hang them up when drying so we were all sorted. In addition there were rails in the small balcony (which is what we used as it was 30 deg outside) so it was all very easy. Bedroom was large by Japan standards. And the supplied mugs had cats on the front! What more could you ask for....

Absolutely brilliant. Location was good too. About 10 mins walk from (the nearest exit of) Kyoto station and in a quiet neighbourhood. Close to buses too. I would stay here again if I came to Kyoto.

The day of arrival to LA Guest House Kyoto they cancelled the room with just only an email the same day. Worst experience traveling in Japan, with no other room free in kyoto and the hostel did not answer the telephone. Inaceptable this management to foreign visitors.

With easy access to Kyoto station, the LA Guest House is a great option. For a reasonable price you get to stay in a new , large and very clean room. Our room had laundry facilities , hot plates, fridge, tv/computer,Wifi, shower and drying room . Comfortable beds and aircon round off the list. You can rent cooking and eating utensils(500 yen) for the duration of your stay.
There is no room cleaning during your stay ( they are not your mother) so you are responsible for sorting rubbish into appropriate bins, changing towels and bed linen if you so desire .

This was the best hotel on our Japan trip - even we have been staying in 4 star places at other cities. The staff is very nice and perfectly English speaking. There is a washing machine in the room and small kitchen. Walking distance to the Kyoto station.

I really enjoyed my stay at LA Kyoto. There is a focus on quiet that I really appreciated. The room was large, especially by Japanese standards, the beds comfortable. No shoes allowed past the foyer--not unexpected in Japan, could lead to frustration sometimes as I was headed out the door and then realized I forgot something in the room. Haha. Stubbed my toe more than once entering the shower/bath/clothes drying area... be careful with that. Good access to public transportation, close to a bus stop and a subway station. Did not notice the bicycle rental service until the last day, so didn't take advantage of that. The staff can provide you with a day pass for the bus, very convenient.

Clean room with stove and washing machine. The bath room can be set to dried clothes overnight. Essential to have if staying for more than a couple of days.
Its 15 minutes from Kyoto station.
Convenient location, clean towels are available at the front desk, used towels put into a basket. Very well run guest house.

Our stay was great; large and clean room, friendly and energetic staff, the property is close enough from Kyoto station.
In general the place has a very positive and laid back vibe to it. I will defenetly recommend it to friends and relatives.

The apartment has excellent facilities including its own washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, hob and computer. Crockery/cutalry were not included but can be rented for 500yen. The apartment was spacious and clean but there was no house keeping service (it is possible to get your own clean towels etc if you wanted)

The main disadvantage of the apartments is the location. It's 15 minute walk to Kyoto station which is where most of the buses/trains depart for the tourist attractions in Kyoto. There were also not many restaurants close by

They rent bicycles for 500Y per day. If you're bringing your own, it's probably best to enquire directly with the guesthouse if you could bring the bicycle into the room or park your bicycle with the guesthouse's bikes.
