Great location, just a step away from Kyoto Station entrance. Near 2 convenient shops and Aeon Supermarket is just 500m away. Rooms are perfect. 2 large beds, a sofa /TV area, a small kitchenette, a washing machine cum dryer. Staff is lovely and they can speak multi language. Superb.

Finally a room that can fit someone over 6ft! Couldn't be closer to Kyoto station, great eateries around also. The biggest surprise is they give you a portable tablet (like an iPhone) that has google maps, acts as a portable hot spot and a phone ALL AT NO EXTRA COST! Really handy for getting around in a foreign country. Bike rental is abit pricey, but expected at a hotel. All in all, happy :)

We stay four nights at this service apartment with a kitchen and washing machine. Staff speak English and helpful. It is just a few minutes walk from JR Station and metro station. Lots of shops and restaurants at the mall. Just remember that they won't clean your room until you check-out.

This is an odd hotel but quite nice.
It seems like it is a renovated apartment block turned into a hotel.
The positives;
- close to the Kyoto station
- the rooms are spacious by Japanese standards
- it is self contained, though we didn’t use thise facilities
- the staff on the desk are friendly amd helpful

The negatives;
The bed is against a wall so hard for one person to get out of bed.

The different;
To use the shower you close the bathroom door and shower on the bathroom floor. I liked this but my partner didn’t.

All in all i would stay again.

Previous reviews have stated the staff as friendly,helpful,and overall excellent and I can confidently say it's all true.

Two front desks employees truly stand out. Sharon was very helpful in rearranging our stay and spoke to Expedia for us when there was an issue. Btw her English is good.

Second, Kiku was incredibly nice! Lent us a portable heater when our room was cold. Also, she has a great smile all the time!

This hotel is so convenient for any travelers. 2 min walk from kyoto station. Great for people wanting a day trip to Osaka. Next to donki for quick shopping. Also next to limousine bus for people needing to get to Itami airport.

We will definitely book this hotel again in our return to Kyoto.

Thank you once again Sharon and Kiku for making our stay wonderful!

It seems strange to put such a high price on being near a railway station but once you've been in Kyoto Station you'll understand why. These apartments are a five minute walk from the station, which puts them right in the middle of the action. Being an apartment they are a bit bigger than your average Kyoto hotel room and contain a basic but sufficent kitchen. The bathroom is on the small size but workable and as my wife commentated, It's just like staying in an old school caravan. The staff are great with a good grasp of English and there is also bike hire, which with Kyoto being very bike friendly, a great option. Affordable, well located apartment option.

Situated less than 5 mins walk away from Kyoto station, this cozy place resides on a surprisingly quiet street right behind Don Quixote.

Reception was super polite, with international staff that primarily understand Japanese, English and Chinese. I have to give credits to them cos they will always greet you with enthusiasm as and when they can if you walk pass the recep counter.

Double room is equipped with a kitchenette that comes with separate toilet and bathroom. The room is typically Japanesque small but a lot bigger than most hotels with a double bed and a 2-seater sofa. You won't find anything short in terms of amenities, with bath amenities and cooking/eating utensils fully equipped. Refer to attached pics so you'll get the drift.

One thing I like most about it is the fact that I have full privacy with no disturbances unless you put up certain requests.

To me, this little place is a gem, contributed by the pleasant and hardworking staff, whom complete the whole travelling experience. Hopefully this remains untouched and will not be spoiled by bad-mannered and abhorrent tourists.

Love it!

Stayed at CMM Crystate Kyoto for 2 nights. Location is good but you have to navigate your way towards the back of Kyoto station to be able to get there. Find Avanti mall since it is across the hotel. Room is big compared to other Japanese hotels. Since it is an apartment/hotel, they don’t provide room service but it doesn’t matter to us since we are only staying for few nights. They are equipped with microwave, fridge, and stove. Contrary to the last reviewer, they have a heater in the room but since the appliances are in Japanese, you have to read their guide book so you can understand how to make the appliances work. Staff are courteous and they speak English well. I would stay here again if I come back to Kyoto.

Right in the centre of Kyoto a few minutes walk south of the main train station.
The room had more of a long stay feel about it with washing machine, oven etc. Room was a bit cramped as is usual in Japan. Wasn’t our best stay in Japan but stayed here solely for the location which is ideal.

This is not a hotel is more an apartment, which is good for some people. Very convenient area, 5 minutes walk to Kyoto Station, with convenient stores near by and a big Aeon supermarket in the case you want to make use of the kitchen.

The staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are big for Japanese standards but if you are not going to use the kitchen it may be and overkill and no need for this type of accomodation. Even though the rooms are big it is very japanese style, TV only Japanese channels, in case you like to watch news.

Now on the negative:

1.- BE AWARE Payment: We make this reservation on Booking.com one month before the arrival date, and we had free cancellation for a week after the date we made the reservation. When the cancellation grace period ended we were charged in a our credit card the full amount for the 2 nights. We travel a lot all around the world and we never seeing this policy before we understand if you want to make a hold on the card or even charge one night but the whole amount we felt it was a little excessive, especially since we had 2 rooms for 2 nights, because they have a policy that they fear that the credit cards are not going to work, not very ethical to me that I have to pay for a services that I haven't received for 3 full weeks in advance.

2.- Bathrooms: As the other review mentioned the bathrooms are japanese style however this bathroom is awful, the sink is inside the shower so to be able to use the sink you have to step on wet bathroom floor, very inconvenient you can't hang towels or place any toiletries near the sink because they will get wet when having a shower.

3.- Very big construction right next to it, so very noisy during the day.

Overall is an ok place very overpriced for the services that are offered and if you don't need a kitchen total unnecessary we probably won't come back or recommend this facility.
