Park Hyatt Kyoto is a “luxury guesthouse” that blends the cultural sophistication of Kyoto with the graceful hospitality of Park Hyatt. The hotel faces famous Ninenzaka slope, home to Kyoto’s largest collection of heritage buildings and the gateway to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a World Heritage Site. Park Hyatt Kyoto affords awe-inspiring views of Yasaka Pagoda as well as the overall city. It features stunning architecture that co-exists in perfect harmony with—and embodies the cultural sensibilities of—the historic buildings and gardens of Kyoyamato, a seventh-generation family-owned kaiseki restaurant that shares the same land. The hotel offers 70 rooms, a wellness center with a spa, and four food and beverage venues serving locally-inspired, innovative Western cuisine, all fostering a new style of hospitality in a timeless Kyoto space.

We were lucky enough to have stayed in the hotel three years ago right after its opening. Three years afterwards, Japan was finally open to international guests again. And I can say the team at Park Hyatt Kyoto is fully ready for the revived trend of tourists. Services here are of the best class, and staff members can communicate fluently in English.

The hotel boasts a great view of the Kyoto city and the Pagoda, and the overall decor of the hotel reflects the beauty of simplicity in Japanese aesthetics.

Food and beverages here are without a doubt will satisfy your taste buds. A creative teppanyaki dinner at Yasaka, a Japanese/western breakfast at Kyoto Bistro, and perhaps a cocktail at the Kohaku Bar will complete your journey here.

if you're looking for advice on your schedule in Kyoto, the concierge team here is super helpful and gives valuable recommendations based on guest preferences.

Definitely a iconic Park Hyatt property to visit if you're looking for a luxury hotel in Kyoto.

My wife and I travel frequently and prefer to stay at 5 star hotels including the Park Hyatt Tokyo and Sydney in the last 6 months. I am the hotel snob in our relationship.. We also read the reviews on TA before we booked about the new hotel issues at this hotel. Honestly, I wanted to stay at the Ritz on the river but my wife talked me into this hotel. I have to say it's been years since I have been this impressed with a hotel. This hotel is fantastic in every way. The location is perfect 10/10. rooms 10/10 (we were on the 7th floor) the staff, which have been criticised here 10/10, Bar 10/10 (small but amazing). We also ate at the restaurant Yasaka 10/10. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel with the tiny exception of the limited room service/all day dinning menu. If you want a hotel that is architecturally beautifully and tastefully blends in with the local surroundings with rooms that are a modern take on Japanese styles in a geographic location that is the best in the city and a staff that says hello around every corner this is the place. We will come back to this hotel again and again.

We were forever grateful to stay in Park Hyatt Kyoto for birthday celebration. The entire travel experience was just impeccable. The staff in the hotel were nice and eager to approach to guests and chat with them. We felt like staying at home away from home.
Special thanks all of the staff as well as the management team of the hotel for making our stay unforgettable!

The design of the room is just relaxing, and you can find a lot of classic Japanese cultural elements in the hotel. The view to the Pagoda tower from the 4th and 5th floor is just amazing, and we really recommend to stay a couple of minutes in the tea lounge in the 5th floor or the platform on the 4th floor to enjoy the astonishing sunset view of Kyoto.

The Japanese breakfast provided by Kyoyamato is by far the best Japanese breakfast we've ever had in Japan throughout the past few years of travel. If you're a Japanese food lover, you definitely have to give it a try!

Our overall experience at the Park Hyatt Kyoto was amazing. Nadia was extremely helpful prior to our stay answering all my questions about the different types of rooms and amenities.
I mentioned that it was a birthday trip for my husband and all of the staff went out of their way to make our trip so special. Ms. Inayoshi arranged to have cake and sparkling wine in the room as a surprise.
We enjoyed a drink at the bar in the evening and the view was just incredible. The lobby also offered a welcome drink and it was so nice sitting by the fireplace and enjoying the sakura flower arrangements throughout the lobby.
We stayed in the Ninenzaka suite and the room was very spacious with a large bath, two bathrooms and TV`s in each room. The mini bar was stocked with everything you could possibly need.
We ordered room service and the menu was varied and the food all very tasty and great presentation.
The location of the hotel is really perfect for sightseeing and we enjoyed strolling the streets on the walk up to Kiyomizu.
We often go to Kyoto and look forward to staying at the Park Hyatt in the future.

The Park Hyatt Kyoto"s location is beautiful with an incredible view of the Yasaka Pagoda. The service is fantastic, as we left the hotel on the way to the train station, they called our tour guide to tell us our safe was locked. I accidentally left my jewelry case and we were able to turn around quickly, the manager was waiting for us at the driveway so we wouldn't be late for our train. The bar is also gorgeous but small and requires reservations. The bartender made a perfect Paper Plane drink for me and served it in the most beautiful Japanese glass. The Japanese breakfast also needs to be pre-booked but is well worth it. The rice is steamed in an old fashioned ceramic pot on the table! We will definitely stay at the Park Hyatt again when we visit Kyoto.

This is how a Park Hyatt should be... I am speaking to Park Hyatt Bangkok and Park Hyatt Niseko. Service here was impeccable warm and professional. Really love the hotel putting a hygiene pack in the room with 5 mask- this is luxury. You can see the quality and details in the hotel from the rooms to how well maintained they keep the facilities- unlike Park Hyatt Niseko using second rate furnitures in the room.

We booked 3 nights on points, we are Globalist. We emailed the hotel a day before arrival to inquire about an upgrade to a room with pagoda view. They responded immediately to inform us that due to a busy Sakura season, they only have one king room view left but it is a $125/night supplement, which I gladly accepted bc I wanted to make sure I get the room I want. We were also celebrating our anniversary.

Upon arrival, valet took our luggage, and asked for our names. By the time we reached the lobby, we were immediately greeted by Arisa Oda and was offered to sit and relax while she brought over our paperwork. She asked us a few questions and hand wrote all her notes. Over the course of 3 days, Arisa was always available to help us from making Shinkansen reservations to booking a nail salon appt for an emergency broken nail.

The room was everything I had hoped for. We were surprised to see an anniversary dessert already waiting for us in the room. We devoured it.

Globalist breakfast buffet was included. I opted for the Japanese breakfast set all 3 mornings, prepared by the on-site Michelin star restaurant, Kyoyamato, for a $25 supplement. It was worth every penny. We were also invited to the daily champagne hour, but we did not partake since we do not drink.

Turndown service was excellent, always left little origami on my side of the bed. They even folded our clothes we threw on the chairs. I love the yukatas (pajama robes) that were also provided.

Spa was quiet and peaceful. The hot jacuzzi felt like my skin was about to melt off, I was only able to stay in for 5min. Cold bath was freezing, only my foot made it in for a split second. Gym equipment was beautifully arranged in the tight space they had.

It was a perfect stay and I would return in a heartbeat.

I stayed at the Park for one night. It‘a a quite new luxury hotel, which just opened a few months ago. The staff was well trained and they were on the ball. Friendliness included, but that‘s typically japanese I guess. Due to the structural conditions of the building, I think, that it is a historical one, but I’m not too sure, the room was not too spacious, but had everything you need and was very well designed including the bathroom with a separate restroom. I liked the Le Labo bathroom amenities! I used the gym once and it was arranged in a strange way (for a certain time other people or guests were walking trough and exploring, nothing else, just watching...) but I think this was also because of the building conditions. For the same reason I think, that they don‘t have a pool! Also the spa area was a little bit to tiny to be honest. And I must say that the signage in the whole hotel was a bit confusing for me and not elaborated completely, especially the way to the changing room and to the wellness/sauna area. And the wifi was not constant concerning the speed and sometimes slow! The rooftop bar offered nice views above the city and had excellent cocktails in an intimate atmosphere! Maybe it takes some time to improve these things. Nevertheless next time when back in Kyoto I will keep in mind that there‘s a Park Hyatt, but compare with competitors when it comes to a reservation.

This is one of the most stunning properties we have ever stayed at, and the care shown by the staff was really remarkable. We travelled with a 3 year old, and the entire team went out of their way to make her feel welcome and ensure she was having fun. They even provided a toy kitchen in our room to play with and a fun tent to sleep in. It is rare for a luxury hotel to make so much effort to welcome families with young children, so we cant say enough about how much we appreciated all the effort.

I entered the hotel just for a cup of coffee which never ended up taking. Entering the hotel precinct there was a concierge who couldn't direct me to the cafeteria in English. At the hall the only receptionist was busy with other guests and there was nobody else to assist her. Once at the cafeteria the only waitress and a florist seemed to be having a very interesting conversation until I showed up and then she went to clear a table, (there was just one table in use and the rest of the places were available, so there was no urge to clear that table in that precise instant) I was then left with the florist who went to reach the waitress. She finished clearing the table. Despite the place was deserted, the staff seemed not to give importance to the attention. There are many other nice cafeterias in Kyoto and the service of this hotel is not worth wasting a minute
