The hotel was easily found on our train station map. When we got to it, it was easily accessible and in a central location and safe. Very kind and welcoming staff. There was a lot of space in our room, which was absolutely amazing having come from two cities where our hotels were small. We had our own almost-double bed (bigger than a single, maybe small than a princess-sized bed). Food was nice and easy to eat in the morning.

My daughter and I stayed in Hotel Vista Premio Kyoto for two nights and were very pleased with everything: customer service is impeccable. The place is very clean and bright. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast was good but I am not sure if an additional $17 should be paid for it. In our case, it was included. The location is excellent: close to Gion, Ponto-Cho and tons of shops and restaurants. As well as 5 minutes walking from the train/metro station. My husband is staying there for three nights in April and I don't want even to look for anything else.

The hotel is close to many shops and food locations. However it is located in a very silent street. The staff was super polite and the room was big enough for 2 people. They should pay a little more attention to the daily housekeeping, but i would return to this hotel for sure

This hotel really is in a great place, with Pontocho Alley just nearby and fantastic shopping around the corner! This was the third Hotel Vista Premio we stayed in during our trip to Japan and our room was very similar to the others. They are very small by British standards and have literally no storage. But you do get a fridge and the bathroom facilities are excellent; the bed was also comfortable. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful and we were able to leave our suitcase at lunchtime before checking in later that afternoon, which was very helpful. Breakfast had some very interesting choices but there was very little indeed to appeal to a Western palate, not even any fruit juice, which was a real shame as it was the only hotel we stayed in where there was so little choice for non-Asian breakfast options. I really do love Japanese food but not so much for breakfast!

My husband and I stayed here on 9-15 Nov 2019, after a long search we decided to book this hotel for its location. Other hotels in the same area are a lot more expensive so it is the best deal if you wanna stay in this location. From Kyoto station main entrance by taxi costs ¥1180 so it's very cheap and convenient. It's on a small road off Kawaramachi dori st. Only a very short walk around 20-30 meters to the hotel and bus stops are right there too. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby as you just walk another 1 minutes to Teramachi dori and Shinkyogoku shopping Street plus Nishiki market is just another 5 minutes or less through either one of those streets too. Others spots within walking distance are Shijo dori st, Daimaru, Pontocho then from Shijodori st just walk across the bridge you can walk to Gion as well. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, convenient stores and shops just outside the hotel and nearby. It is a small hotel but it's good enough. Lobby is very small though so you might not find seats to sit. We booked a twin bed room and it's reasonably roomy with rather high ceiling. Enough space for 2 big suitcases and 2 small one plus small backpack and purse. If this location in Kyoto is where you wanna stay then we recommend this hotel. We cannot comment on traveling by bus or subway coz we either walk or use taxi and a bit of a tram and train. If we were to go back to Kyoto again we might try staying near Kyoto station for a change, this would be one of two locations I would stay really after being there and seeing how things are.
