Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The place is within huge Kyoto station (West side) surrounded by countless shops and restaurants. Ideal stay for a few days. Rooms are Japanese style small but well equipped. Fast WIFI and comfortable beds. Aircon works quite and well. Breakfast is Asian style well assorted. From Kyoto station just about 15’ by subway and train to fascinating Kyoto’s oldtown (to Shijo by subway and Karawamachi-dori by Hankyu Line. Would go there everytime again..

For Japan Rail travelers it is an ideal location. Business hotel located in Kyoto Station. Clean and efficient. All station facilities in one place: Starbucks, JR Lines, Shinkansen Tickets and Lines, Kyoto bus terminal.

While the rooms are fairly well appointed they are very small. If you have 2 medium sized luggage bags there is virtually no room to walk around the queen sized bed. Staff were helpful and if you're a train buff the Shinkasen passes right by your windows. Room noise is minimal from the trains.

We stayed here 4 nights while visiting Kyoto and surrounding areas. It was very convenient to be right at the train station so we could easily to get to destinations in the region around Kyoto. The room was sufficiently large for 2 but, as is typical for Japanese hotels, not overly spacious (only one chair, tiny desk, etc.). At 20,000 JPY a night I found it a good value for such a conveniently-located hotel. The entrance is in the basement level of the Kintetsu section of the station. Although it's truly inside the station, the hallways are so crowded that it still felt like somewhat of a walk to get all the way to the JR Lines or the restaurants in the station department store. The Granvia Hotel would have been closer to the center of the action of Kyoto Station, but it's also more expensive. Breakfast at the hotel opens at 6:30, but there was quite a long line around opening time on each of the 4 mornings we were there. We didn't pay for the breakfast-included room rate, but if we did, we may have been disappointed that we wouldn't have been able to get a quick breakfast and still make an early train. Other breakfast places in the station like Starbucks do not open until 7:00 and are quite a good value.

The hotel is easy to find, it is inside Kyoto station with good signage. Their staffs is the highlight with great service and attentive to details. The Room is good size for the Japanese hotel standard but bigger than the standard train station hotel and nicely decorated. However, Breakfast need to improve.

For the large modern bed room, the rate is not an expensive with this best location in the main terminal of Kyoto. Front staff are well service minded and both the room and public facilities are updated and well maintained cleanliness, made me comfortable stay. I will always choose this hotel whenever in Kyoto for either business or leisure.

After traveling all day on 2 shinkansens it was a welcome site to arrive at this hotel! We had arrived about a 1.5 hours early and the hotel allowed us to check in our bags early while we went looking for lunch. Check in is at 3pm and we happily checked in to our room and found pajamas and slippers waiting in our room. Beautiful bathroom and comfortable shower to refresh in. Despite being right by the Kyoto train station, you couldn't hear a thing in these rooms. As we were checking out but hoping to explore Kyoto the next day, the hotel allowed us to put our larger bags in their lockers until we were ready to head on our next shinkansen. This was a marvelous hotel to experience Kyoto and we will be back!

Hotel was perfectly located inside kyoto station. The lobby is just at Hachijo Dori exit. Outside the lobby was a plethora of restaurants, gift shops, supermarkets and retail. Take the escalator up, and you'll reach the kintetsu trains. Basic twin room is average size, some difficulty to open 1 large and 1 medium size luggage at the same time. Interesting view out of the window. Very relaxing to watch the trains go past. Soundproofing is good. You barely hear the trains despite the proximity.

Expensive for what you get plus they charge for something called "accommodation tax." Rooms are small for what you pay. Breakfast is pretty standard ,and you could get better at other places right outside the hotel front door.
