This hotel gives away gifts for Ladies .... Ladies can choose 2 gifts from the various items at the lobby..... Nice touch
The location was very good too just the opposite of Kyoto Station.

The single room was spacious enough with all the amenities provided. I love the Sobakawa Pillow & bed was very comfy too.

I would recommend this hotel specially for Ladies :)

Hotel location is hard to beat: next to Kyoto Tower, 3-minute walk across JR Kyoto Station (shinkansen, trains and buses), FamilyMart/7-Eleven/Lawson nearby. Room space was ample and the heating was excellent. Bathroom and tub were very adequate. Laundry washer and dryer work well.

Me and my kids stayed here and we had a pleasant stay. It’s very conveniently located next to Kyoto Tower and right in front of the Kyoto Station. I only stayed our last night in Kyoto here but wished we booked here from the start of our vacation there. It’s super close to the train station and buses so getting around was really easy. The room however is really small but it was no problem for us as it’s just me and 2 small kids and we don’t have a lot of stuff. For the price I paid per night with breakfast, it was definitely worth it.

This marks my second stay at “Hotel Hokke Club Kyoto,” it remains a testament to convenience and comfort. Located just across from JR Kyoto Station, the accessibility is unparalleled. The lobby exudes elegance and comfort, matched by the friendliness and proficient English of the staff.

The rooms are immaculate and tranquil, ensuring a restful repose. Breakfast at the hotel is a buffet affair, offering a generous variety of choices.

In summary, it’s a hotel that guarantees a worry-free rest for travelers.

Very clean hotel. Staff were helpful. You can Google translate to communicate if needed.
The location is prime as it is right across from Kyoto station. So I didn't waste too much time travelling to places and could spend more time at the locations . The Haruka express stops at the station as well.

I will definitely book this hotel when traveling to Kyoto again.

It is located right opposite the Kyoto Station. So getting anywhere from the hotel is very easy. Room was nice and clean. Slightly bigger for a single room as compared to some of the other hotels. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.

I agree with the previous poster that this is a no frills hotel; however, there is free Internet access in the Lobby and the hotel is a good value.

I paid under $80 per night for a room the size of a small American bedroom, but everything I needed was there. You get slippers, a Yukata (robe), a TV with Japanese Shows (Hey, this is Japan; not NY), an alarm clock, a small fridge (empty, but vending machines and local shops abound), and a complete set of toiletries: comb, brush and toothpaste, shower cap, shampoo and other body lotions. To add to the value, tipping is not necessary in Japan.

The cleanliness of my room rivaled that of an operating room in a hospital. Yes, it was that clean! I did not smell any offensive odors nor cigarette smoke. But in Japan, cigarette smoking is highly prevalent so you will encounter it in restaurants and other public areas.

I slept well on a double size bed and the room was quiet. The one window I had was opaque glass, but I wasn't there to gaze out the window. There are plenty of opportunities to sightsee away from the hotel. I just wanted rest.

As an aside, I spent about 10 minutes playing around with the space commander console on the Japanese toilet. It's plugged into the wall and more like a high tech electronic appliance than the commode you find in most US homes.

There is a hotel cafeteria in the basement that served very good Japanese style food. But there are inumerable restaurants in the area: Starbucks, McDonalds, and a myriad of Hot Food restaurants.

The location can't be beat for a foreign tourist. It is right across the street in front of Kyoto's main train station. If you arrive in Japan by Kansai International Airport in Osaka, you take the Haruka Express train from the airport to Kyoto Station. Walk 5 minutes from the station to your room and you are ready to relax or go sightseeing.

By the way, with all the money you are saving with this value room I would highly recommend traveling by clean, comfortable taxis to all the major temples, shrines, and attractions. You can go by bus, train, or subway, but trust me--you will see more and enjoy the comfort of the cab much more than other modes of conveyance. Taxis are not cheap, but what you gain is more than worth it.

My wife and a friend stayed in a room next door to mine with two double beds. It was quite spacious compared to my single and had a small sitting area with a couch and coffee table. I believe it cost around $150 per night.

The staff is pleasant, speaks English, and they accept all major credit cards. I am recommending this place to all my friends, and to you.

I stayed in the Hotel Hokke Club in Kyoto for one night because other hotels in the area were booked. HHC is what's known as a "business hotel" in Japan--cheap but basic accommodations for business travelers. The bathroom was one of those plastic modules set in the corner of the room, and they supplied shower gel, shampoo and toothpaste, as well as basic amenities (hairband and two different kinds of body sponges for women!). The front desk staff spoke English well, and the room was only about $70/night. The cons of the place: my non-smoking room smelled of smoke; the lobby was very smoky; there was no window in the room (there was one, but it doesn't open, and the glass was absolutely opaque); and there were no English-language television stations. The rooms aren't large, but if you're on your own, it's not bad. I had a single room, but the bed was the size of an American double.

Overall, not terrible, and good if you're in the hotel only to sleep. Convenient, since Kyoto Station is just across the street. I went to the New Miyako for the next few nights, and that was much more enjoyable, spacious and with large windows.

Checked my large roller bag early at 0900h and confirmed the checkin time was 1400h-1500h at the Hotel Hokke Club Kyoto and off I went getting a full day in touring Kyoto. I came back at 2100h and checked in for 4 nights getting a great rate through Orbitz. My luggage was waiting at reception for me to check in.

Directly across the road from JR Kyoto Station, access to the City subway, regional trains and a major bus depot. This and 2 x2 day passes allowed me quick and unlimited use of City buses and subway. This hotel targets business people on a budget - it's functional, clean and no frills. Front desk staff are very helpful and have a good command of English language. The hotel provides free, fast and password protected wifi on all floors and on 2nd floor reception. My room 919 w very comfortable despite its compact size. It came with a double bed, fridge, kettle for tea, tv (no English speaking channels I could find) and all the amenities you would expect to find in a 3.5* North American hotel and then some. slippers including a second personal pair were provided and daily nightshirt to wear. There are some freebie face and body packages for ladies in a box near reception but nothing for men - no surprise there. My only concern about the room was the step from the room into the bathroom which is about 8" and one must remember to make this hop each time or your will kick your tie into the ledge. I used the vending machines in the hotel to get a few beverages and a can of nuts, I also used the laundry which was 300Y to wash (38 minutes) and 100Y to dry for each 30 minutes. I found the heat in the dryer very hot and should have put in 100Y only to dry so as to avoid shrinkage of my clothes. There are no settings on the machines - you get the single setting that is fixed by default. If you opted for breakfast or your reservation comes with it there are 2 choices: essentially the same Japanese breakfast with small salad, miso soup, a few pieces of rolled egg, a wedge of fruit, piece of fish and rice. The difference between the options is the rice as one is porridge and the other steamed rice. I enjoyed these and while I typically don't even eat breakfast - I am walking many miles every day and need some energy and this food is healthy. On my early checkout at 0800h (I wanted the day to explore more if Kyoto) the hotel happily agreed to hold my bags until late afternoon when my train departed with no problem. This last point is a benefit of being with 5 minutes of the JR Kyoto Station.
