I stayed at B&B Juno for around a week at the end of a long trip around Asia. Visiting Kyoto was the highlight of the whole trip- in no small part due to my stay at B&B Juno. Firstly the B&B is ideally located, Kyoto is not a particularly large city and it is both possible and a pleasure to...

Keiko runs a great traditional Japanese Bed & Breakfast. The location: The house is 30-40min from the train station (by bus), but just 10min by foot from the silver pavilion (Ginkaku-ji) and the Philosopher's walk. Everything in Kyoto is within easy reach by bus just 2min walk from the house. The place: The house itself is 80 years old and...

It was a real pleasure to come back to stay here. The host Keiko is ever so hospitable. After nine days in Japan, we opted for western breakfast and they were just so good and filling. We were here in August as a couple. Our daughter came on this occasion to Chubu with us. We came again to Kyoto as...

Stayed here for 4nights. The place is very cozy and charming. Ms Keiko is a very lovely friendly lady. She made us feel very welcome and helped us in many ways while we're there. Location is superb for exploration nearby attractions. Bus stop is few minutes outside main road. We walked to most places all time. Demachiayanagi train station is...

I was in love with this B&B from the moment I followed Keiko's perfect directions to the front door. The house itself is beautiful and the rooms are gorgeous traditional tatami-mat rooms with an incredibly comfortable futon. There is one toilet and one shower/bath shared amongst the three rooms but even when all the rooms were occupied during my stay...

During my recent visit to Kyoto I had an opportunity to meet Keiko, a very successful B & B's owner who operates #1 and # 2 inns rated by the TripAdvisor reviewers (who were also her guests) among other B & B's in Kyoto city . Guests who stayed with Keiko’s or Juno B & B were very pleased with...

I have too many nice things to say about the B&B and Keiko, the owner. I stayed here for three nights and had emailed Keiko to ask about a/c in the room since I was coming from Germany and had basically melted there. When I finally arrived (which Keiko was very nice and came out to meet me after I...

It was a fantastic experience. Very quiet and peaceful accommodation, yet lots of restaurants and cafes round the corner on the main road. Keiko was a very helpful lady, our journey to Osaka would not have been so easy without her guidance. Our sincere thanks to her!

Me and my wife wanted to try real Japanese accommodation and we got it. Before travel to Japan read a lot of good words about this B&B and were happy to book it. Keiko gave us good instructions how to get there and all was not complicated: Best option is bus #17 from JR station. Juno is situated in a...

My flight arrival at Kansai airport was after 9 pm and I got to BnB Juno just before midnight on an airport shuttle. The owner Keiko Kariya was there waiting for me, as arranged. Some BnB owners refused to take late arrivals. My wife and I stayed four nights and it was very enjoyable stay for us. For those arriving...

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
