Honestly, the triple room in this hotel is a small but we really like the location and accountability of this place, so we decided to stay here again for four days. Kyoto is like our second home, we have been coming to this city at least twice a year for the past decade. We have tried many hotels and we...

The hotel was well placed for both subway and major dining, shopping and entertainment areas. The triple room was well appointed and comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast was a little squashy and most hot dishes lukewarm.

Overall a nice mid range hotel. The staff is very friendly and willing to speak english and make your stay a great experience. The hotels facilities are good and the rooms are very clean and provide a good layout. The bed was nice but the pillows are like sleeping on packing peanuts, so bring your own or hope they get...

Stayed at this hotel over the New Year holiday. The hotel was full, and a little crowded, but the staff did a great job making everyone comfortable. The rooms are small -- typical of Japanese hotels, but well-equipped and comfortable. There is a public bath -- small, but a nice feature. The breakfast buffet was terrific -- mostly Japanese, with...

What a lovely hotel! Extremely well situated close to a main train station; beautiful garden in the lobby; helpful and friendly staff and just an all round nice hotel. Room (although very small which I believe is the standard in Japan) was really nice with a comfortable bed fully functional bathroom. Definitely a winner!

This was a very nice hotel - rooms were tiny as expected but perfectly comfortable and clean. The communal bath was very nice with a nice garden to look out to. Only given 4 stars since I thought it was quite expensive given no. Real fast included in the room rate.

Known as slightly above average business hotel chain I was disappointed about the room size compared to other hotels of the chain. This would make it average. But being charged over 280 USD for a single room excluding breakfast leads to a disappointing rating. If you are a tourist visiting several days, stay in Osaka and commute by Shinkansen which...

This is a nice clean and well situated hotel. It's within walking distance of some nice restaurants and the metro line. I can't comment on the Japanese baths as I'm tattooed so I wasn't allowed in. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something clean and basic.

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
