This hotel is in an excellent location just a few minutes walk from subway stop Kyotoshiyakuso-Mae which has an escalator up and down and a small mall called Zest. Lots of eateries and shopping nearby in a bustling neighborhood.

I stayed here 6 nights and the first room I was given was a small windowless closet with a 15inch step into the bathroom. Being old with bad knees I went down and requested a different room which after a small discussion of giving me a stool to get into the bathroom and me saying “nope” to that I was moved to a much nicer, bigger, room with a window to the street and a flat bathroom entry. Appreciated the care I was given but I also saw Ryokan type rooms and gorgeous suites so be aware of what you book here.

The staff speaks great English, they have a water dispenser and microwave in a shared space off the lobby so you can save some cash on food and stuff. The lobby is also comfy to do work and they store your luggage with ease. All in all once I have had a room I could use I was very happy here!

It can get a little noisy but not badly IMHO. Would stay again!

If you don’t mind the noise levels in the rooms (you can hear someone blowing their nose next door) or the lack of climate control, or the smell of smoke - but want a very good location, then stay here. They only clean your room on the 4th day of a stay and the raised bathroom area is not ideal and is cramped. The toilet makes a lot of noise and will awaken anyone. The room is very small, which is common in Japan, but the doors in the room and the furniture layout make for a game of twister if you are more than one person. Staff was detached and a bit cold, they were so absent that we almost missed our train because the taxi they called never came. Plus the cleaning staff made a lot of noise in the morning pushing their vacuums around the hallways. On my next trip, I will be staying in this area but at a better hotel.

I stayed here with my family (my wife and 4-year old daughter) in November 2022 for 4 nights and we had a comfortable stay. If you are a tourist, then you will find this hotel pretty convenient for sightseeing. Location is perfect. It is pretty close to a bus and taxi stand and also the train station isn't very far from the hotel. You will find plenty of restaurants bakeries, coffee shops & convenience stores nearby. If you are Indian or like Indian food, then there is a good Indian restaurant just 50 meters away from the hotel.

We booked a superior twin room (with 2 single beds and 1 sofa) that is meant for 3 persons and it was spacious, especially if we compare it to the other hotels where we have stayed during our Japan trip. Most of the staff of the hotel is good. A special thanks to Mr. Sunil. He was really friendly & helpful. He helped me to transfer my luggage from the hotel to the other hotel in Osaka.

Now, let's talk about the few negatives. There are many bakeries & coffee shops around the hotel, but it would be great if they could've offered the breakfast. Hotel doesn't have any restaurant, but it would be great if they can add it in near future especially for the breakfast. Another thing that I didn't like that on the day of checkout we were little and they charged a penalty. I guess we made it to the reception at 11:45 P.M and they asked us to pay JPY 1000 for that because the standard checkout time is 11:00 A.M. A 4-year kid was staying with us and that made the things slower than expected for us. I know as per the rules they were right, but it felt little odd because we have never experienced it any other hotel we have stayed so far. Anyways, we have a wonderful stay and we would love to stay here again.

The convenient location is the biggest attraction at the beginning. The room is a clean and spacious one. There is a big common area with drinking machine and microwave oven for the guests having simple meals.

The staff are nice and polite. I feel happy when they greet me.

I have good impression and experience here but some points to remind. Points to be attentive as follows:

The desk is not a big one and the TV also on the desk. It is not that convenient when having make-up or writing postcard.

The coffee table with two chairs is funny. Just check the photo. However, I think leather is better than cloth for cleaning?

The hotel is far enough from the main Kyoto train station that we got a taxi (Uber), but it's close enough that we used the metro or walked the rest of the trip. (It's two subway rides from Kyoto station plus about five blocks.) Check in was easy and fast. It was cheap enough to stay that we got single rooms. The rooms were average for Japan. The bathrooms were a little raised and the shower/tub had very high sides. Otherwise, the rooms were fine and we were able to sleep well. The location has a lot of places to eat and shop nearby. It's located right near a major street. We got a one hour extension to check out for a thousand yen. Overall, I think we got a great value!

Loved this hotel it was a little gem and would recommend. Right in the heart of a busy shopping area and next to an absolutely huge shopping mall which you can buy anything and everything! Cat cafe and the Gatcha shop were some of our favourites. The room itself was spacious I thought for a city hotel and we were there for 5 nights. It felt like a proper base and my adult son and I were sharing and it felt plenty for us in a twin room. Massive window (8th floor) and lots of light and the air conditioning was really welcome in the heat. Hotel reception staff were ok but their English was not as good as in other hotels so sometimes it was difficult to communicate but non the less they were friendly.

Good location only about 2 mins from the nearest metro station and not too far from Gion (about 10 mins walk). The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and very helpful when we had to change plans due to a typhoon and there were all the usual things you’d expect from a hotel of this type - including laundry machines which were great.
Overall a good base to explore Kyoto from.

Located right at Kyoto Rail station the hotel is very convenient to buses for sightseeing.

The room was a generous size and spotless.

The staff were very helpful as we needed to check our bags in early and retrieve them late on separate days and they managed this without a hassle.

We'd stay here again next time we're in Kyoto.

Wife and I were here during the cherry blossom week. It's more expensive than usual but still one of the cheapest in the city. It's the high tourism week... book it early, we booked ours 7 months in advance.

The hotel is located at a great area, super close to 2 subway stations which is operated by different companies. Depending on where you are going, the 2 stations can get you everywhere you need to go which took our Suica and IOCCA cards. For 3 of the days we bought a 3 day Kansai Thru Pass at the Kyoto Bus station. which covered all transportations to/from Nara, Koyasan, and Osaka.

The room was comfortable with great amenities, but very basic. The wifi worked well, and we requested a high level corner room away from high foot traffic area which we got. So no noise concern at all. During the trip I had an emergency work related business situation which required a business center which the hotel does not have. I wish they have just 1 computer set up for business purposes.

There is a 7-11 right down stairs which fulfilled our snacking and quick breakfast needs. We dined mostly near the Kyoto train station, but we did try the ramen place across the street from the hotel which was delicious.

There are plenty of shopping options around the hotel, overall it was a great stay and we would be back.
