I stayed here with my partner for 5 nights back in October and I can't really fault this hotel at all! It's incredibly close to the station while being just tucked away from main roads for less noise. Everything was clean, there were complimentary drinks everyday! We also used the free laundry service one day but a few people were using this too so there was a slight wait! Can't fault that for free though. Clean rooms, wifi that never dropped for us! The only think I could recommend is if the hotel had bigger TVs in the room. Overall a very pleasant stay at this hotel.

This review is to share an experience from May 2018. The hotel was in such a perfect location to access Kyoto Station, 3 minute walk depending on cross walk lights. We checked in late with no issues. Room was perfectly clean and comfortable. My husband loved the pajamas the had for us, although at 6ft 1in the pants were a little short on him. :-) Breakfast in the restaurant onsite was very good and the coffee machines produced the most heavenly brews. We loved the open air design of the hotel with the courtyard type space in the middle. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Kyoto.

This was my absolute favourite place to stay over my 3 week long japan holiday. There are just so many fantastic things about this accomodation and the little things that make the difference. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the grounds are beautiful with many places to sit and relax, including the hotel grounds across the road for a quieter experience. Access to free flavoured iced tea, coffee machine, water and my favourite hot chocolate to die for! Let alone the free nightly drink (cocktails, mocktails, spirits) of fantastic quality, a great way to wind down after a busy day. The onsen is lovely and the salt bath also wonderful, they have a very clean and well equipped female change rooms with multiple different shampoos and conditions to choose from, hairdryer, lockers, single use hairbrushes and hair ties.

Breakfast is very well catered for with something for everyone, all of very high quality.

The rooms were very clean and well set our and definitely make use of their pajamas/lounge wear - I regret not buying some when I left!

Thank you for the unforgettable stay.

Sakura Terrace is exactly as advertised, providing the features that the hotel management promises. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the JR Kyoto station. Typical of Japan, this hotel and the rooms are impeccably clean and well maintained. The breakfast, bar, dining area, and library are adjacent to the main lobby, and coffee / tea is available all day around. The bus stops to get to main touristic attractions are close by, either just across the hotel or about 3 minutes walk. A free drink every evening for each guest is the cherry on top.

The hotel staff are courteous, helpful, and willing to go the extra distance to make the guest's stay memorable. They are knowledgeable about the sights, the best ways to travel, and provided the best maps to get around. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the staff were more than willing to hold luggage for both early arrivals and late departures.

We had reserved a superior room on one of the higher floors. Though the hotel is located on an intersection, there were no disturbing sounds from the streets below and we slept soundly. The room was spacious and stocked with the amenities that you expect as Japanese standards and more.

I would strongly recommend Sakura Terrace for stays in Kyoto.

Great location just a 3 min walk from Kyoto Station, Shinkansen end. Good sized clean room with a small balcony which had a table & 2 chairs. Free laundry facilities & soap detergent is supplied. Lovely area to have drinks in the evening, complimentary drink options included beer, wine or cocktail, nice to have a mulled wine & sit in front of the fire pit during a cold Feb night! Restaurant on site & although we didn't eat there during our stay we did have a nightcap there after visiting Gion. We would stay again.

Great place a short walk from Kyoto station. Hotel is modern and updated, no carpet on the floors in the rooms - yay!

Double Superior room is spacious, you can move around without tripping in furniture or your suitcase! Bathroom is a standard size Japanese bathroom have never had one bigger.

Staff friendly although not all speak English well so things do come across abrupt.

Massage chairs and free tea and coffee in the lounge a big win.

Booked total of 3 rooms in North wing for family of 6 adults.
Hotel accommodated our request to have all 3 rooms on same level.
We had nothing but the best from Sakura Terrace The Gallery
Location is a short 3mins walk away from Kyoto Station
It’s a breeze to get around to anywhere; be it by train, bus or on foot
There’s 7-11 a minute walk away for late night snacks
Free welcome drinks from 5 to 10pm
Free laundry
Free use for massage chairs
Free hot drinks 24/7
Wide selection of local and international food for breakfast from 7 to 10am with indoor and outdoor seating
During cold season best to pen down your room number and wait for restaurant staff to call your room when your table is ready
Otherwise you can sit around a campfire with fleece blankets provided
Friendly and helpful hotel staff especially front desk and restaurant
Special thank you to Akiko-San from front desk for helping with baggage transfer from Sakura Terrace The Gallery to our hotel in Osaka
Definitely will return when we are back in Kyoto

I selected the hotel because it was 2 blocks from Kyoto station. Also, a pleasant surprise was on my way to the hotel was a 7-11. Nice. I enjoyed my stay here at The Gallery. It was like a cool hipster vibe. It was efficient and nice. The accommodations were neat, clean and I liked the bathroom amenities in the bathroom. The shower head had a lot of water pressure. I enjoyed my shower a lot. This young staff member, I forgot his name , but , he was from Texas and he was very helpful in telling us where he goes for fun restaurants. He was very nice. Best part is they offer a free drink every night. I had the Non alcoholic drink. Grape beer and it was so delicious. I will come back here again.

We had a really great stay at this hotel. The hotel is very convenient 3 blocks from Kyoto Station. We could get to anyplace easily from the station. The room was clean comfortable and quiet. Free coffee and tea in the morning. They also offered cool organic rooibos or hibiscus berry tea in the evening. It has a traditional Japanese bath for guests with a salt sauna and cold plunge. There is also a nice gym and free washers and dryers. It was a perfect travelers inn. Staff is very helpful and understand a lot of English. We really enjoyed our stay and would return here.

The reception was top notch and the staff was always available to help us. The restaurant was very good; both the food and the staff. During the evening they had jazz music which we quite enjoyed. The hotel has a courtyard type area with seating to enjoy a drink and fresh air. And it couldn't be more convenient to the train station.
