We originally planned to book Park Front but prices were too high and Keihan was listed as a closeby option and thank goodness for the property, it's literally next to Park Front and Universal City is just outside and nearer to the station. I'm not big on their check in process - which requires a machine automated scanning of passports and no bell boy to assist with the luggage. That said, kids amenities at the lobby and the service staff offering Christmas chocolate to the kids is a nice touch. We booked the fifth room, perfect for our family of 4 and for Japanese standards, it was spacious. Breakfast was SO GOOD! Try the DIY crepe maker! I enjoyed the salad bar, kushikatsu skewers with mentaiko from the rice bar. Overall a very comfortable stay especially if you're doing USJ!

Very glad we stayed here. The restaurant on the top floor is an 11 out of a 10. The room was big enough. The location to see Osaka plus spend a day or two at Universal Studios is excellent. It’s a fine hotel and pretty efficient service. You can’t get your room early but can leave your bags. You bring them to the room yourself. Not that complicated per the previous post. I was happy with it as that’s the deal. My wife and kids were keen to see the hot pool but when told it’s an all naked affair, they all rejected that. But that it Japan.

Location is superb, just right outside USJ (Park Front is the nearest but honestly, they are just side by side). Stone throw from the station and that’s all the positive things I can say about this hotel. We stored our luggage with the concierge as they didn't have rooms available for early check-in. When they retrieved our luggage, we were told to remove it ourselves from the concierge trolley with no assistance at all. We had elderly and kids with us. We cannot believe this is the kind of services rendered by a proclaimed 4 star hotel. There were little to no aircon during our stay and the rooms felt stuffy. We had 3 rooms and it was all the same. When we called for help, they opened the emergency latch and left it for ventilation as it was autumn when we visited. This did not help with the situation at all despite it being very cooling outdoor. We also felt dangerous leaving the latch open as the opening was quite big. Rooms were also extremely dated - looks very 80s and doesn't feel very clean at all. Room size was decent for Japan if you have twin beds; wouldn’t suggest you add an extra bed. There was hardly any space to walk and a knock hazard! In my opinion, Keihan is one of the worst 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in. Would not recommend to anyone at all!

I travel for a living, and have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the last 15 years. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The air conditioner doesn’t really work. We set it to various temperatures as low as 15° Celsius. No matter what it’s set to, the room is extremely warm. I was literally awake the entire first night of what was supposed to be a 3 night stay. The bed literally felt like a wooden frame covered with a sheet. No matter how I laid, I felt wood digging in to my back. Come to find out in the morning that the mattress was literally upside down. The room is very, very small. So is the bathroom. So small it was extremely difficult for two people to navigate around the room. It was also very difficult communicating in English with the staff. Even the staff that had English on their name tags were not much help. The rooms are also very dark. When we voiced all of our concerns, we basically got no reply. We were still forced to pay for 3 nights in unacceptable conditions, even though we only stayed one night (plus a few hours). Any reputable hotel would have at least refunded the 1 night we slept on wood. We hated this hotel so much we departed after that one night, even though we paid for 3 nights. We moved to a much nicer, much friendlier, and also much more affordable hotel. Avoid at all costs!

The hotel is just steps away from Universal Studios Japan. You can beat the USJ ticket queue by buying the tickets from the Hotel's Reception Counter. We booked through Agoda and it was very affordable at last minute discounted rates.

We were two Australian travellers in our 20s and it was our first time in Osaka. The hotel was very conveniently located to shops, stations and Universal Studios. The only downside was the firm beds. We were not used to this type of bed but it might be normal for Japan.

Clearly this hotel is in a great location for Universal studios but is a little run down. Poor amenities for an expensive ‘luxury’ hotel. No room service or gym, no movies etc. We stayed in a triple and a standard. The triple was fine, but beds are uncomfortable and pillows also hard as a rock. The room was a reasonable size and bathroom was OK. The standard room was tiny, with 3 beds crammed in it and barely enough room to squeeze between the wall and the bed. The bathroom was tiny and cramped. Wifi was virtually non existent in the standard room. Once you have done Universal Studios there is no reason to stay. NOT a luxury hotel but is still ridiculously expensive for what you get.

This place is at the entrance of Universal Studios and very busy. We stayed on the 26th floor ( 4 floors from top) and found it to be very noisy at night with the street amusement down stairs. Motel is clean enough although we did find a g-string in our room on arrival. Beds are rock hard, bit like taking your pillow and sleeping on the lounge room floor. The location is out of the way and either a train or overpriced cab to town. (Seems to be like an industrial area) plenty of restaurants downstairs, overpriced as usual being in a tourist area.

My family & I stayed in a superior quadruple room for 3 nights in October 2019. If you are going to Universal Studios this hotel has the most amazing location - the park is less than 5 minutes walk away! There are a number of shops & restaurants right outside and the train station is at the end of the mall. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel for budget reasons but with a Lawsons & Starbucks right outside we had plenty of options. The room was on the smaller side but for 3 nights in such a fantastic location we coped just fine.
