The hotel had 159 days time to book two rooms with a view. Now when visiting onsite it can be said that on floors 12-23 (12 floors for the same price range) in where there are similar rooms for the same price, 43 rooms per floor. On floors 12 and 13 there are 19 rooms which are facing an immediate wall as a view through the window and 24 rooms do have open views (as all rooms on 10 above floors 14-23). So there are approximately 38 rooms which are looking towards the wall and 478 rooms which views are not blocked by opposite wall, which means that 93% of rooms do have at least some sort of view. Whats the problem, I booked AND PREPAID for four nights two rooms with views and breakfasts from 12-23 floors range (as none of the pics neither than any of the feedbacks do not tell that there are 38 rooms out of 516 rooms which do not have any view at all) and sent out an email for the customer services by kindly asking for rooms with a nice view. The hotel representative replied 159 days before check-in to me ”We will also do our best to arrange a room with a view as much as possible.” The hotel had 159days time to secure that these two rooms are not within that 7% of which there are no mention neither the price is not reduced in any ways. I made instant complaint after we reached out the rooms past 15/3pm. The customer service get back to the complaint 21.05/9.05pm by suggesting that only thing they could do is to offer one room from 17th floor -> pls note that the hotel staff have had the knowledge of the names, genders and ages of this family travelling with two kids from the time of booking/prepayment. As the suggestion were not acceptable, I replied to be waiting for a better alternative as an compensation for the following day. Well guess what, the hotel customer services representatives have not had time to give any solution for this problem. STRONG AVOID FOR THIS KIND AUTOMATED SERVICES THEY ARE OFFERING ON THIS HOTEL. All in all, there are better options with exactly same price level close by, so my advise is to look on anything else than Hotel Hankyu Respire Osaka. For me this experience had all the four at once: the first, the last, the only and the one, which should have never ever happened. This truly very poor customer service experience was such an highlight for an 16 day Japan tour which started from Tokyo, then Kawazu at the Izu from where to Kyoto an by the time coming to Osaka Japan was one of best holidays ever made (and the list do include many exotic places from Far East, Caribia, Europe, America and Africa) but the Hotel Hankyu Respire Osaka just ruled everything down. The attitude of the customer service were so rude, I would say hostile even, that do not enter this hotel with Your own money. I would not even with my enemies after this experiment.

Lovely albeit small room on the 27th floor looking west over Osaka. There was room (just) to leave an open suitcase in the floor which was a benefit over our previous nights. View was excellent and slept well here. What I would say though is it felt like an airport terminal at reception. We arrived early and literally got the case taken off us and sent away until 3. That’s fine but it felt unwelcoming. When we came back after 3 we were just ushered through airport style queuing to a self check in terminal. While help was available to assist it just felt very remote in terms of hospitality. Would happily recommend the rooms though. Very convenient for Osaka station and a little bit more central than Shin Osaka where the Shinkansen go.

Pretty new hotel that lets you do self check-in & get your own amenities including tea/ coffee bags. You can easily find food/ supermarket on the lower floor of the hotels (the hotel is located on the upper floor). More like a mall with a hotel on top. General: 9/10 + Very close to train station + Very close with malls around + Restaurants/ supermarket/ conveninence store available on the lower floor + Staff were friendly - Somehow not everyone can do the self check-in - The check-in process can take a while as evidenced by queues and many people waiting in the lobby Room: 8/10 + Smart TV + Soundproof room + Air purifier + Auto Toilet + Clean - Toilet is separated from the shower room - Shower room a bit small - The whole room is a bit small, although it fits 4 beds just fine Restaurant: 7/10 + Food was good - They were running out of rice and soup (but quickly refilled) Overall: 8/10

We stayed in the high floor quadruple room over several nights in Dec23. Check-in/out was quick and easy. Loved the room and location - right above the Osaka station and easy access to numerous food options! Our large room which was above 30th floor was clean and had a lovely view of the city - (1) Bathroom was Japanese bath style, water pressure from shower was strong, (2) there was usb outlet at each corner of the 4 beds, super convenient. The hotel’s self service coin laundry room was the largest among the many we’ve seen and we were able to monitor the availability from comfort of our room via the tv!! Best part, the hotel is located right above a shopping mall (and a 24hr family mart) - easy access to food and shopping! Highly recommended!!

This must be among the most conveniently located hotels in Osaka, right in the heart of Umeda with lots of shops and restaurants and transport links to places in Osaka and other nearby cities too! The hotel looks new and is well designed with themed artwork. The city and night views from the rooms (we stayed at two different rooms) were great. The check-in line seemed long at times, but it should take just 15 minutes in the queue or so. I think because of the Hankyu RESPIRE Osaka, we've come to like Umeda and Osaka (and also the Hankyu train company) more!

My biggest complaint’s is the toilet room, it has urine stains all around the toilet area and the smell of urine is so strong that I can’t even stand being inside for more than 3 seconds. The room itself seems as if it was just barely cleaned to accommodate new customers. I can see hair underneath the bedsheets with my bare eyes. I addressed the issue to customer service but didn’t receive a direct proper response, he just told me all rooms are booked and I have to wait till after 3:00 pm. There were no apologies or send any staff to assist with the issues. I’m just so disappointed and disgusted with our room and their services. As I’m here writing this review and waiting for a potential new room, I can still smell the urine outside the toilet room with the door closed, it is so disgusting. I have never stay in a 4 star hotel with such conditions. Never again will I return!!!

I would avoid this hotel. I stayed for 3 nights, and it was one of the worst experiences I had considering the amount of money I had to pay for the stay! Check-in begins at 3 pm and is done through kiosks. The hotel is so crowded with people that you need to wait 30 minutes just to check in, followed by additional waiting time in front of the elevators. Some of the staff members don't speak English, and some were simply rude. The room felt stuffy, and there were stains on the carpet beneath the toilet. The air freshener is old and emits a weird sound, rendering it useless. I would rate my stay 2 out of 5 stars.

The location is perfect, right in Center with stations, shopping and restaurant. We choose a double bed room, it is small. Perfect for a short stay. If you want more comfortable , choose a bigger size room. There is bath in the room. Service is perfect, you can choose staff to clean room or not. They are detailed service which provides new mug, water refilled. Love it, will go again.

Very convenient hotel located in the heart of Umeda, Osaka. It is a part of the Links Umeda which is a shopping complex and also has access to Osaka Station right across the way. Check in is self check in and you cannot check in until 3 pm . There will be loads of people in the lobby waiting to check in at that time so I recommend dropping off your bags here for them to hold and going back out to get a bite to eat or do some shopping. Lots of tour groups seem to stay here as well so this place does get quite busy. It was busy in the lobby every time we were down there. The lobby area is huuuuuge so there should def be somewhere for you to sit if you need to wait to check in. Altho it is self check in (and self check out!) at the computer kiosks, the staff is there to help if you need it. Some speak English and the staff that i dealt with here were very friendly and helpful. We had our bags delivered using the Yamato Transport and my moms bag hadn't been delivered the same time as mine. It ended up coming the next day but the girl who helped me (i didn't get her name but she went above and beyond, excellent customer service!!) called the company to see where the bag was since it still wasn't there the day after mine arrived and they ended up tracking it down! So we received it later that evening thank God! We booked a deluxe triple room because it was over 300 sq feet which we all know is huge for a Japanese hotel room. The extra bed came in handy to put all our shopping bags on that's for sure! The bathroom area had a lot of wasted space that could've added more square footage to the main room so you could easily put out your suitcase. Everything was separate in that bathroom area. The toilet was in one "room", the sink and shower area were in another "room" but there was a frosted door to get in the shower area so you could easily be in the shower and let someone else be at the sink area with no problem. And by "room", i mean that the space had a door. You had to take one elevator to get to the lobby of this hotel and then take another elevator to your room. Sometimes there was a line and a wait to use the elevator. Check out is at 12 pm and we all love a later check out time! There is a lot of shopping and places to eat right in the same building area. You really don't have to leave if you don't want to. And even if you don't want to go far, Osaka station is right across a walkway where there is more shopping. Everything is pretty easy to get to from here. If you are one for convenience, this is hands down your place. If you are not one for crowds, you might need to find another place.

I regularly travel to Osaka for work and looked forward to staying at Hotel Hankyu Respire Osaka for the first time. The location is excellent. It's close to JR Osaka Station, Hankyu Umeda Station, and the subway station. It's also close to shops like Uniqlo (in fact, in the same building) and Family Mart convenience store (also in the same building). I think Starbucks is also in the same building. The room is new and clean. A bit on the smallish side, but hey, I was on my own. It was enough. The bathroom was spacious. Taking a bath every night was one of the things I enjoyed whilst on the road. However, it isn't really a hotel for business people. It's a holiday hotel for families and couples. I guess it's pretty standard, but the breakfast service starting at 7am wasn't early enough, and I had to skip my breakfast a few times to catch an early train to meet clients. It was great that the breakfast vouchers could be used for lunch, but obviously, I couldn't be there for lunch. What really put me off was when I first arrived. I was asked to use one of the check-in/check-out machines. That's fine, but when I asked the reception staff for my suitcases, which were couriered beforehand, they brought them out for me on a trolley, left them there, and walked away. Were they expecting me to carry the luggage by myself? I thought it was a four-star hotel... Maybe it's normal in Japan for guests to push a trolley themselves. When I politely asked another staff if they could help me with the trolley, they helped. Thank you. But at least the first staff could have asked me if I needed help... It's a great hotel in a great location (a bit too pricey), but I felt I wasn't welcome. There were several frontline staff at reception, but they were always looking down at something and never greeted anyone while I stayed there for a few days. Would I stay there again? I guess I would for the excellent location, not really for the service.
