The staff was pretty friendly. Located near a JR train station. The private room I stayed in was spacious, it was almost like an apartment. It had a refrigerator, a stove, television, washing machine, etc.

Ideally located right near Modomani Station in Osaka, a quick whip around on the Osaka Loop Line lands you at this hostel. Staff are incredibly friendly, there are cooking facilities so you can do your own cooking or there is plenty of shops nearby. Plenty of sights in walking distance, nice clean hostel with comfy beds and very clean!

Found this hostel from the hostel.com. Hostel have a perfect location, near the subway and there are supermarket and restaurants within walking distance. The staff speak good English and they are very friendly too. For those who travel with big luggage, pls inform the staff in advance so they will try to arrange your room at ground floor. As most travellers has indicated, the room is rather cramp but what do you expect in a busy city like Osaka. The staff are ever so helpful and friendly. Location is superb and neighbourhood is friendly and interesting. On our first evening here, a guy from Michigan approached us and he was most helpful. We were introduced to a Bob... More

The room we had was extremely small. It seems that it should be a 2-persons room but they gave it to us with 3 people. There was literally one-foot distance between the two beds on the ground and one-foot from the bed to wall. There is no place for bags. We piled the bags up in the corner but it's... More

Stayed for 2 nights, perfect location right next to a JR train line. Bed was comfy and can't argue with anything with the price we paid. We were even made a cup of green tea by a member of staff whilst relaxing in the lounge. Thanks!!

Stayed 3 nights because of the good reviews I have seen. However it's not what I expect by Japan standard. The room is cramp. Once you put your luggage on the floor, you can hardly walk. The hostel is very cold during the winter, unlike the rest of the hostels which kept the temperature high in lieu of the coldness.... More

I've stayed here twice, once in 2011 and once in 2015, private rooms both times. The location is pretty much across the road from Momodani station so it's very convenient, there are convenience stores, restaurants, a McDonalds, 100 yen store, bakeries, etc all within a few minutes walk! The staff are always so lovely; both times I've visited I've had... More

This was my second stay at Bonsai, the first in a private twin room and this time in a 6 bed dorm, would definitely go back if I'm ever in Osaka again. Pros: Great location, literally 2 mins from the station. Friendly staff (was great getting to know Saya and her friends!). Cute, homely feel to the lounge area, easy... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in a private twin room. Very clean, comfortable place to stay. Staff were very friendly and spoke very good English. They were quite happy to have a chat to us, as the reception was part of the open communal area. This guesthouse is quite compact, and over a couple levels, but suited us very... More
