We stayed for 3 nights in a private double room. The room was a decent size, bathroom facilities were old but working fine, the bed was very uncomfortable though. The girls at reception seemed to be in a bad mood every time we asked them something, very unusual for Japan. The guys who work there were very friendly though. They...

It's not too far from Nagasaki station about 15-20 min walk depending on your speed. You can take the tram which is only about 4 mins or so as explained on their website. Its super clean, quiet and the front desk is super helpful. We had a mixed dormitory but I think they had put all female in it so...

We had a good stay at this hostel, nothing to complain about! It's a 15min walk from the station and the desk is extremely helpful! There is good wifi, a kitchen and useful maps at the hostel! While it's a little bit of a walk out of the main area, it's only 10mins and it's a nice walk! If you...

I spent a couple of nights here with my 3 teenagers. We shared a 4-bed dorm room which was small, but perfectly comfortable. Quarters might be a little close for people less well-acquainted with each other, but we were perfectly happy. The staff were very helpful, pointing us towards reasonably-priced parking and good restaurants nearby, checking on opening hours of...

The place was quite easy to find as it's near the famous Megane (spectacles) bridge, with a big red sign outside. We arrived very late and the worker ha to wait for us. He seemed a little unhappy about it. Although understandable, it was unlike the usual Japanese hospitality I experienced elsewhere. Rooms were clean, but walls were quite thin...

It's a good hostel with all the necessary requirements, including a great kitchen and social area, yet it's the staff and wonderfully location, that make this such a great place to stay. The staff work really hard to make it a warm and friendly place, organising a big feast the night I arrived, and provide so much useful information and...

My husband and I spent three nights in a bunk bed room with shared bath facilities in mid-November. You really cannot beat the price and friendly people here at Akari. Very clean as well. Our only problem was that our taxi driver had a hard time trying to figure out the address we provided... eventually, we mentioned the Megane Bridge...

Great little hostel, very easy to find and within easy walking distance of most of the major sights in Nagasaki. Rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable. A great little kitchen, lounge, and dining area is provided too. The best thing about this hostel though is the staff and the information provided. The walls are literally plastered with information and...

The hostel is situated in a perfect area. It's not too far from the JR station and it's a 10 minutes walk to the city center, which is a must to visit, I loved it. The dorms are spacious, tatami style floor but bunk beds (without the usual courtains for privacy, but that didn't bother me). Cleanliness is ok, facilities...

Akari is like a youth hostel. Warm welcome to visitors. It consists in an elderly house, and traditional rooms. (must bring your bath towel) Staff is very helpfull, and gives you many useful indications about the city. It is located into a very cute street, facing the stream and the sixteen arched stone bridge of the acient city. Magic view...
