Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I didn't feel safe in this guest house. Someone (I assumed a guest) sleeping on a couch close to my room and making noise all the time. In another occasion, someone trying to open the door while I was in the room. There are unknown people, guest, friends of owner or staff in the lobby all the time. I don't normally review but I would suggest looking for other accommodation if you want to find it near Chinatown.

Really unclean rooms, you wouldn’t want to walk around with no shoes on in a room, even a private room. The floor is covered in bits of gum, food, hair and who knows what else. The rooms definitely feel like prisons cells. There’s nothing wrong with a basic hostel but there’s no excuse for somewhere to be that dirty. I would not recommend staying any longer than you need to, I unfortunately stayed three nights.

Reasonable price with breakfast included in the morning. Efficient and service-orientated staff. Credits to Jack and the Bangladeshi guy (Shahrul - hope I have spelt his name right). Both of them really made the effort to make sure I have a bed to stay as the hostel was packed and full during the time I was there, so their effort has to be appreciated and commended. A comfy vibe in the hostel as there are quality and friendly human interactions between guests and also with the staff. Clean and decent environment. Perfect location in the city center. Additionally, in this hostel one can also meet other different nationalities of travellers and backpacker as well. Overall, I enjoyed my stay there in the hostel, a place which u can know friends and enjoy a good hostel stay.

Downstairs area is not too bad to sit and eat or use WiFi. Staff we saw later on seemed a little friendlier. Location is good for cheap food like Indian and Chinese. Not to far to walk to the train station too. AC worked well. First impressions weren’t great. Check in was very simple and nothing like breakfast etc explained. Room smelt like feet and there was no window. WiFi didn’t reach the room. Area around the hostel is also a little rough.

Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Was so dirty - sheets weren’t clean, table wasn’t wiped down, floors hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. And so.much.dust. The entire hostel and stairwell had so much dust that people had written in the dust. Can’t say much about breakfast because we decided not to eat there because it was so dirty in the hostel that it was unbelievable. Bathrooms were also horrific, that we often went to go pee in the hostel next door. We switched rooms because as 2 female travelers we did not feel safe. We didn’t see one single woman while staying here, and were constantly being harassed. I understand that staff can’t do much about who stays there, and they did let us switch rooms. This just goes to a warning to female travelers, solo or not, that it is less than safe. Men were waiting outside our room and knocking at 5 am, and would ask us in the reception the next day why we wouldn’t hangout with them. Again I acknowledge staff can’t do much about it but it’s still the reality of this hostel. Overall a very scary and very dirty stay. We left earlier than planned. The majority of the “excellent” reviews here are from men. The women reviews are about how scared they were and how management did little about it. Would never recommend this hostel to ANYONE.

This is a great hostel as long as you understand what you’re going there for. The building isn’t the nicest looking from the outside, the street isn’t the quietest or the cleanest. But this isn’t why you’re staying here- all the essentials are done very well and very cheap. There’s high powered aircon in the reception and the rooms, good wifi in reception, and all the dorm room doors lock. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. 1.5L bottles of cold water can be purchased at reception for RM2, which is super convenient. Further, the location is excellent. In the middle of Chinatown, which is central to a lot of KL’s attractions. To get there from the airport, take the express train to KL Sentral then the red monorail line to Pasar Seni. The monorail is close and can get you to a lot of places. If you’re staying in a dorm, bring an eye mask- if you end up on the top bunk and someone turns the lights on, you’re not getting back to sleep.

Checked in for 3 nights and within 4 hours had decided to look for another place. Yes it is very very cheap and the location is really good but The twin room had no window, it was dirty, we found a condom wrapper under the bed and most of the slats on the bed were broken. The pictures on booking.com must havce been taken several years ago. There was also mould above the AC unit. The AC did work well. When we spoke to reception about us leaving they didn't sound too surprised or bothered but did give us a refund. If you need somewhere on a total budget then it's fine if you can afford anything else then take it.

I stayed here for a couple of nights and it was alright. The hostel is located in chinatown so it’s pretty easy to move around and see many interesting things in the city. There was no wi-fi in the bedroom and the bathroom area can do better.

The location is 5 star, right around the corner from Central Market, Petaling Street, and close to an LRT stop. Had a tiny room with 2 decently comfortable single beds, good AC, no window or wifi. Shared bathroom around the corner, 2 private toilet stalls, 2 private shower stalls, good condition (hot water in only one shower, but too hot out for hot water). A bit noisy from the street, but slept fine. "Breakfast included" is just white bread with margarine spread and jam. Had a problem with another guest stalking me in the hostel, I complained to management about him, they said they would talk to him but would not kick him out. I was so uncomfortable and afraid that I cancelled my last reservation there and left the city. I think they should have taken it more seriously to protect their guests. Watch out for someone sitting alone and just watching people all day... he has come after me on multiple social media platforms, gotten my phone number, and followed me to the bathroom several times. I would give the property a better rating but now I am dealing with a stalker whom they refused to do anything about.
