I have stayed here a couple of times now and it's always the same good value. The rooms are basic but clean and the free wireless works as well as any other hotel in Malaysia. (slow but adequate).

The location is decent too. It's approx. 300 metres from Medan Tuanku monorail station which is only 3 stops away from the better known Bukit Bintang area.

If you want to eat cheaply, visit the cafe next door to the hotel.
Nasi Ayam (chicken with rice) and a Teh Tarik (tea with condensed milk, a malay favourite) will set you back RM4.60 which is just under ONE English Pound. Yep ONE !

For those of you who like a steak, the oldest restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, The Coliseum Cafe, is a 10 minute walk down the road. The coliseum is famous for the BEST steaks in Kuala Lumpur. I have eaten there many times and I can assure you they are superb !

All in all, if you're on a budget, The Prescott will serve you well enough.

Happy Holidays !

Stay there in April 2015. Hotel Room is excellent with everything you need bit Wifi is weak, slow and stopped from time to time. This really bothers the guest as found it without a high speed internet. The room view is excellent and you can see the K.L tower day & night.
It's ok for a night short stay as hotel is near monorail and LRT. But sad to say, the giant opposite main room "Maju Mall" is closed. In fact the the whole mall is empty and deserted and unlively there any longer.
Surroundings eateries are serving Indian food but few fast food outlets for a quick bytes. However there is bigh SOGO mall 6 mins walk away from the hotel.
Do take note there is a requirement of RM50 deposit and shall be refunded upon checking out.

Improper vacuumed carpet including lobby, tv channels so horrible, scribbled wall, staff not very welcoming. It’s not about star rating, but as hospitality service provider, management should look into the condition and cleanliness of the hotel entirely. Do not just make it look so amazing in the picture but totally different in real. Hotel is the place for travellers or guess to take good rest, relax and chill before they continue their journey. Why don’t just take a little time to look into this matter? Train all staffs in every department and make sure the promises that stated in website or booking web are truly fulfilled.

Stayed for 4 days. It is located in a very insecure location. With no 24-hour security, not as mentioned in Agoda or whatsoever. Limited space for parking and the hotel car park is tiny and very limited space (6 to 8 spaces only). My car windows was broken and got things stolen even i park my car right in front of the hotel on the third day(hotel parking was full). Homeless and drug addicts wandering around the area, one even follow me from my car into the hotel during my arrival and the security or guard does nothing to stop him. I would not recommend this hotel for tourist and business travelers.

The hotel is a low cost hotel and my rating takes this into respect. However you must be aware that some of the rooms and bathrooms are extremely small and without windows and are not for the claustrophobic. You hardly can turn around in the WC. The better rooms are small but ok for the price, however my room was facing 2 highways, a train and the monorail and they used only cheap PVC windows not filtering the noise sufficiently. Housekeeping was weak, forget to put up new glasses and coffee, forgot to refill shampoo and soap. The safe was defect and nobody bothered to repair. There was a covered space which some fan running all night, must be the WC exhaust. The restaurant was one late morning closed (unusual for a hotel restaurant), one day they had coffee, they next 2 days run out of beans! Staff, some helpful, some not at all. Not too far from Sentral station, can be reached by foot in about 5-10 mins, depending or your walking speed.

I booked this place on agoda looking at the pictures that looked fantastic... Was disappointed to see the actual cramped up rooms in reality. So let me explain the goods and the bads of my two days stay.

Bads: I had booked at Superior room for my two day stay. Once I checked in and entered the room it was nothing like what I had seen in agoda website pictures. So I went down at the reception immediately and asked them 'are u sure my room is superior?' so the response I got was 'no sir, we have given u a deluxe room as all double bed Suprior rooms are taken'. So after a bit of haggling around they gave me a superior room but with twin bed. So I said nevermind and went ahead... Opened the bath room to realize that the house keeping lady in charge of cleaning (there is a card in the room which tells u who cleans your room everyday) has left toilet cleaning brush in the toilet. Disgusting. But I say nevermind again. Next day I go out shopping and before doing so inform the receptionist to make sure my room is cleaned and the valuables in the room are not touched. So what do they do.... They didn't make my room at all. When I came back at 12 in the night to the room, the room was exactly the way we had left. So I went down to the reception and again ask them to clean it at least then. To which, I got a repines saying 'oh our house keeping facility is only available till 9 p.m. So we will have your room cleaned tomorrow now. So I said nevermind for the last time and checked out the next morning... Room was clean, no view from the windows... U only see the othe close by buildings. Shower needs some fixing. Rooms ceiling was coming off. Needs fixing... Have put up my pics so see them to understand what I'm saying.
Goods: changed my room from Delux to superiour quickly... Annie, the day receptionist was helpful and guided me on how can I commute around the place easily... Pro actively gave me city map upon checkin and suggested places of interest. Restaurant room service was effective... Didn't like the food though. House replenished towels and rolls quickly when we called and asked.

I have travelled around the world and stayed in many locations. I also try and avoid leaving negative reviews, however, my one night stay at the Prescott Inn was disappointing to say the least.

The hotel is old no outdated, which I can deal with but it is also filthy. Our sheets were stained, our pillows bright yellow with sweat, and the shower had mold all over it.

We booked a room with two queen beds for 4 people mainly because the price was excellent. We noticed only 2 towels in the room so I attended the front desk to ask for 2 more towels and the staff attempted to charge me extra for them...

I would suggest avoiding the temptation of the price of this hotel and booking another...

I usually stay at the Tune Hotel across the road when I'm in KL, but decided on the Prescott Inn this time as the prices were the same.

This hotel is a budget hotel and with that in mind, I lowered my expectations accordingly. However, even after that, there were some issues that were grating.

Let's start with the positives:
- The hotel is near the Medan Tuanku Monorail station, which makes it convenient getting to the shopping areas
- The hotel room was quieter than Tune Hotel, given that it is not located along the main road.
- The price was comparable to Tune Hotel with the add-ons.
- Comfortable beds
- Large but old and tired (but clean) rooms
- My room (even numbered rooms) had a nice view of KL Tower

Negatives:
- Customer service lacking. This is the first time I've encountered staff who make eye contact and then deliberately move away to avoid serving (and this was just to hand in the keycard to check-out!)
- Weak and non-adjustable air-conditioning which took forever to cool the room. In hot and humid KL, this is unacceptable.
- Shower area could be cleaner

If you're not fussy or just staying for a night, this hotel is passable. Otherwise, passover and consider something better. I won't be considering this hotel again.
