Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pros:
Near Robinsons Manila, so plenty of food options
Aircon is working properly
Basic at best, no frills type of accommodation.
Wifi is reliable.
2 Bottles of Water are provided
There is security at the lobby.

Cons:
Location is not pleasant to walk around especially if you're not used to the chaos that is Manila
It's not safe to walk around at night especially if you're alone.
A little noisy.
Hallways are narrow and dark.
Rooms are not the cleanest.
Facilities are not updated.

Would I stay again? NO. I stayed out of necessity.

I was attending the wedding of a former colleague at the hotel, and because I live 1 hour away (without traffic), I opted to stay on the night of wedding for convenience.

3-star hotel, lots of bars and restaurants nearby to choose from. Few minutes walk to Robinsons shopping mall. My husband and I stayed for one night only. English tea should be made available at the breakfast buffet rather than guessing whether its available or not. If I hadn't asked I wouldn't have got it for my husband who only drinks tea.

A good friend of mine was getting married so we opted to stay and was fortunate enough to book their 2020 promo. Set your expectations because what you get is what you pay for.

Pro's
1. Price (affordable for Php 2,020 with breakfast for 2)
2. Aircon (working properly)

Con's
1. Noisy room. Thin glass not sound proof
2. Rooms need updating
3. Dirty pillows and linens

Overall would be average. I'd rate this at 2.5 out of 5. Can't really complain that much because of the price.

If your aim is to have an easy journey to Puerto Galera then THIS should be the only reason to stay in this hotel as the SIKAT bus departs promptly @ 09h30 from this venue.
The chicken mami (soup) is my favorite meal but the stock has varied too much over two visits and the breakfast is basic with too many staff frying, scrambling or poaching eggs.
This venue is past its prime and the colors (brown) are depressing.
Check-in was prompt but room service terribly lacking this after requesting a room clean early morning which by 17h00 was not completed .
My fridge was not turned on and even if it was I was NOT storing anything even sealed water so I had to contend with warm bottled water.
When one reserves a room weeks ahead certainly room service staff have sufficient notice to provide guest with a cold fridge as Manila temperatures are brutal even when it rains.

The bed was comfortable and the linen had no odours which was great as most Asian establishments have linen / bedding reeking of tobacco.

Its time to find alternative accomodation then taxi to this venuw to board the SIKAT BUS.

The only thing I like about this hotel is the FO clerk Louie. I reached the hotel around 1240pm and she let me checked in even though the check in time was 2pm. Appreciated her. Good job! 👍

Cons:
1. There’s NO safe box in the room.
2. The wifi is only good for WhatsApp. Forget about surfing the internet.
3. The noise of traffic along Mabini street is terrible in the morning.

What really made me unhappy was:
On the day which I checked out (Monday), a male staff knocked on my door and reminded me to check out later. It was around 915am for god sake! And about 1030am while I was preparing for shower, the front office called and again, asking me about checking out.

This clearly shows that there’re no communications between the staffs. If the front office don’t know that I’m checking out, then what’s the purpose of that guy who came and knocked on my door for?

First things first I checked in the staff at desk where very helpful but no one to show you to your room left to find it yourself which is OK but there are plenty more hotels in that area that show you to your room so not a good start, upon entering the room first thing I noticed was the room decor was old & nothing like in the pictures on there Web site also the air con was old & very noisy even worse when turned off believe it or not also very expensive for that area would not stay again unless they smartened up the rooms some what & renew the air con if they did that then maybe they can justify the prices there trying to charge staff ok & airport pick up was OK no problem.

It is a shame that these people would put photos of a palace on their website and then when you arrive, you get this flea infested, bed bug infested, filthy room with filthy sheets, dirty walls, windows that wont close to the outside air of manila, noisy from traffic, furniture in disrepair, TV not working, ac control broken, bed like a rock, floor chipped and in horrible shape.
The bottom line! This hotel is a huge lie. Don't believe the photos on the website. It is a lie. We checked out immediately and went elsewhere. They got mad and made us pay AT GUNPOINT FROM AN ARMED GUARD WITH A MACHINE GUN. This place is dangerous. Don't stay here.

I have stayed at City State Tower hotel in Mabini regularly over the past five years because I had my work in Asia.In the recent past there has been a dramatic change regarding customer service and honesty. First off all: the hotel has nearly no customers today. The management has told the front desk staff to sell the expensive rooms and tell the the customers that they don't have Standard rooms available. There is so many vacant rooms in this hotel. Why do the staff need to lie to me about this. They also try to maximize the payment by telling that the prize of the rooms do not correspond with what is online on the net.
I am very disappointed to have the same discussion over and over again with the front desk.

From the outside, no one would ever think that this hotel has more than 200 rooms with different types, from Deluxe to Suite. This is one of the hotels in Manila that has an occupancy rate of 98% if not 100% daily. Maybe because of the rate that they have. Very affordable, very convenient (stone throw away from US embassy), polite staff and security personnels and many more.

The rooms are clean, food is great and conveniently located in the watering holes such as G Point Resto bar. The public transportations are here, jeep and taxi. There is a valet parking also, which is convenient to the guests. Around 30 minutes drive to the airport and near shopping mall, Robinson's department store.

Just after you come through Customs and enter the receiving hall there will be many people there holding up Signs, they will surely ask you where you are going, if you tell them they will immediately inform you that a driver from the hotel is waiting for you, they will guide you to a waiting van where you will be charged anywhere between P800 to P1000. If I were you, don't answer them, walk straight through the doors on to the sidewalk, look to your left and take one of the yellow airport taxis. They are a little more expensive than the white taxis, but they will get you to your hotel safely and without ripping you off.
