As with the title of this review, Victoria Court is technically a motorists hotel or motel for weary tired drivers or a halfway house for provincial travelers but here in the Philippines, it is also a "love hotel" for couples.

Victoria Court is a chain of such kind of accommodation with branches all over Metro Manila. It is the largest drive in motel brand in the country (as far as I know and based on my local travels). Some of its branches are located at Caloocan, Pasig, Pasay at the one where I stayed at which is in Malate, Manila.

The Malate District is the heart of Manila, the capital of Manila. It is the a nightlife center and a dining area. There are also malls and other leisure places in Malate.

A few months ago, me and friends decided to a night out in the bars of Malate. We stayed there until the wee hours of the morning. We had a lot of drinks. I felt a little dizzy and contemplated whether to drive home in my not so safe and okay condition.

Because I know there are cheap hostels and motels in the area,I decided that I'll just check in to one of it for me to rest and be sober enough to drive home safely.

I am really drunk. As much as possible, I don't want to walk so I chose a drive in motel which is the Victoria Court there in Malate. I can easily park my car in the garage of the room and the room is easily accessible. No elevators or hallways to tackle.

I was greeted by the door man as soon as I entered the entrance of Victoria Court. He asked me how long will I stay and what kind of room that will suit me. Since I was there just to relax and be sober, I chose their simplest room. The doorman led me to the garage type accommodation and the room in it. He was friendly and polite. He asked me if I need anything else.

There's a queen sized bed in the room. The linen that covers the bed and pillows were a little thin. Under the linen, the bed is covered by canvas. Oh well, I don't have any complain really cause I'm so drunk and sleepy. There's also two bottles of complimentary distilled water.

I checked the toilet and bath, it was clean and has a jacuzzi. I was amazed with that. There's a toiletry bag that has soap, toothbrush and toothpaste. There were also clean towels although what can I say, towels were not that soft and were thin like the linen. But I'm cool with the simple amenities that I can freshen myself before I went to bed.

When I woke up, I felt hungry. I called the model's kitchen and ordered the typical Filipino breakfast of tapsilog that composed of tapa or beef strips, eggs and fried rice. I also asked for coffee. Breakfast was considerably okay since the place is not really a restaurant.

While having my breakfast in my room, I switched on the TV. It has a cable TV system.

After finishing my breakfast, I took a shower and went home.

I am glad that I chose to stay at Victoria Court and didn't go home in my condition the night before.

Victoria Court served me well as with its purpose as a motorists hotel. I paid cheap so I shouldn't really expect more but I had a great short stay.

If ever I am sleepy or a little tipsy in the future, I wouldn't hesitate not to stay in Victoria Court for my own safety and convenience.

It's our first time to this kind of hotel/motel. We like the room they gave us. It has a theme. The place is clean. There's towels, toiletries and hair dryer. LCD TV mounted on the wall with cable and surround speakers. They also serve good food. Service is great. We hope that they change the mattress and the beddings. The sheets are very thin and also the blanket. The pillows and bed are ok. We just hope it's more comfortable. Well, we didn't know if they have the same mattress and bedding in suite room though. We plan to book the suite room on our return.

They gave us discount card upon our check out. We are happy to know when we've read that they allow pets! We'll definitely go back here with our babies!

We only had 3 nights in Manila and were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Yes it is a bit strange and not your traditional hotel but it was clean, the staff were helpful and the free breakfast was fantastic. We did have a bit of trouble with our door not unlocking and had to ask the staff to let us in each time but they were happy to do so. We booked a superior deluxe room (Bhutan) and it was nicely decorated. Since we checked in early in the morning, I think that they expected us to leave at the same time when we were leaving. If we had known that, we would've just booked an extra half day because they were really hassling us to get out of the room at 7am. The bathroom was impressive and the minibar drinks were reasonably priced. Free wifi. Also there was a free porn channel that we unfortunately didn't discover until the end of our stay. There are security at each entrance so we felt very safe. I was amused to find that you can buy Victoria Court merchandise (t-shirts, umbrellas, caps etc). I would stay at this hotel again.

No where near as good as it used to be.
1 no kettle in room
2 no mini bar
3 menu book replaced with 1 page of options.
4 do not want to give you a room key.
If you want to cut these items they should be prepared to lose a lot of business. I have been staying here since I have been coming to the Philippines in 2013. Please wake up to yourselves and put it back how it was if you want to please your customers. And also please make up the rooms everyday like before. I was there a week and no cleaners made up my room I has to ask for fresh towels. So please please get your act together.

their Themed rooms are one of a kind. and the memorable ones are StarWars, Aquarium, Safari, and Austin powers. staff are really great and remembers you! haha Merchandised are good keeps as well they usually give is as part of the package souveniers. the time for party is worh it, the sofa, unique room feature, and the jacuzzi are the bomb. they sure know how a good night is spent.

Advise is dont be shy and ask the staff and management for help, they have ideas that no other hotels can throw!

Was looking for a 12 hour room because we were going out for a few drinks , tried the Sogo , was P1600, then went to the famous Victoria Court , was only P1080 so we gave it a go , was impressed with its lightening fast internetultra cold aircon , nice warm shower and flatscreen tv. It was ultra safe as they locked up my motorbike and guarded it too. They accepted credit card too with no additional. Thumbs up allround.

Got cockroaches in the bathroom. We asked the room to be cleaned but when we got back, there's still a roach in the bathroom. Not a very good place to stay, honestly. The complementary breakfast isn't that good as well. Oh yeah, they also forgot to give us our conplementary bottled water. Too bad we stayed there for 2 days. Geeeeezzzz!!!!

So, it appears that everyone has given up with Malate, many say it used to be a buzzing place but many bars, restaurants and night spots habe.moved to nearby Makati
What a real shame. Malate has a real semse of belonging, no pretentiousness. Just a nice welcoming place on its uppers due to little or fewer
tourists. Please support the people and businesses of Malate
