The Bed, Blankets, Pillows.. awesome. The elevators(2) has a built-in alcohol dispenser which was nice. Guards on duty/utilities was very accommodating and patient. They should replace the ladies and gent in the concierge.

The pool, gym, the concierge.. just average to low class as compared 3years ago. EACH needs review/renovation or replacements. The male concierge during our check in was talking inside his office, talking in a loud voice where we are. Very UNPROFESSIONAL!
It took us over an hour to check in to our room when we had informed them weeks prior of our preferred bed arrangements.

would think twice about checking in again.

Stayed here before, on the 11th floor, which was a nice room. However, this time we were on the 12th floor. The outside A/C units kept us awake and so did the constant noise from the traffic below.
Not the hotels fault, but it didn’t make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was a bit uninspiring. The bed was super large and comfortable and the rooms were clean. The photos of the roof top
Pool make it look larger than it really is.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Our bed was fantastically comfortable and the bathroom clean, the shower good, and wifi connection decent. However, the room service was absolutely TERRIBLE! One of us had food that was uncooked, and the other's food had clearly been shoved in a microwave, as one side was warm and the other cold. The breakfast was below average.

The room was really big (deluxe double) and clean. The breakfast was great, although not so many choices available. The location is good, less than 5 km from airport. Our favorite was the roof top swimming pool. The water was perfect temperature, the pool was about 120cm deep all the way from one side to the other so it was safer for the kids. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Do not know why I have so much hate about this hotel, its ruined my entire stay since the first moment upon my arrival to the last minute.....

First and foremost, I reached to the hotel around 1300 on the first date of my staying, they put me on hold for about 30 minutes, and thanks god i got the room with a considerable waiting span. The sooner i got to the room, it was not matched with the room type which i supposed to have. One pax stays at twin room on 5 floor, you kidding me? I immediately made a call to the front desk, and requested for the room exchanging, here is how the dissatisfaction begins...first few time responses were "please wait for another 10 minutes, we will get back to you shortly".... been going like this for more than one hour, and afterward i passed out on the bed for 20 minutes, then got back up to make another serious complaint to the front desk. Finally at about 1530 they reallocated me another king size room on 10f with no view...what a disaster....I expected to have front view...well i was already exhausted with their inefficiency and irreverence.

A few more defects need to be addressed, the security surrounded by the red light district, and outdated facilities hotel itself. Breakfast is above the average, lack of variety, do not bother to eat the next consecutive days.

Furthermore, I booked with them via Agoda for first 2 nights, and then i determined to extend one night more for business purpose, however, they tried to charge me more than what it says on Agoda like 1.5 times more, you seriously tried to fool me like a donkey. I kept bargaining with them to get about the price I should be paying as Agoda. Can you believe the the first response I received from the front desk is "Do it on Agoda then"...this is extremely discourteous. What a cumbersome dispute.

Thanks for the well-irrevence, well-inefficinecy, well-reacted, well-careless thumbs up for the prostitution heaven, surely i would never considered to come back to this hotel ever....its ridiculous

Dear Valued Guest/s, Warm Greetings from Armada Hotel Manila! First of all, we want to thank you for taking the time in making this review. It was very unfortunate to hear that you encountered such problems. We do acknowledge that the room type that you have requested is not yet available when you arrived in the hotel. It could have been explained right away upon check-in to avoid any inconvenience on your part. On the other hand, with regards to the location of the hotel we assure you that our Security Personnel are all trained to assist you in case you needed some assistance. For the variety of food at our Restaurant, we already informed our Executive Chef about your concern and these matters were taken seriously and acted upon right away. For the rate that was quoted to you, we would just like to clarify that on line rate is always lower than walk-in rate even in other hotels. It was also explained in a very polite manner that if you wish to get the same rate you can extend thru online though you requested to extend directly to the hotel and asked for the same rate. The GSO who attended to you actually asked our Management to extend a special rate which in the end was given an approval and was even thankful for the special rate that was extended to you. If you think our Front Desk staff was not courteous enough, we assure you that we will have them re-trained on how to handle guest. We are very thankful for your constructive comments. In this manner we will be able to improve our service even better. Once again, thank you and we hope to see you again here in Armada Hotel Manila! Sincerely yours, Rowena C. Asañon Asst. Front Office Manager

What type of people are doing these reviews??
I looked at some of the high ratings and concluded that these people do not stay in good hotels or should get out more.
This hotel is grubby, opposite a very very seedy nightclub and old building site. I have the pics to prove it.

There is zero ambience, it is an example of tired 80s with faux velour seating.
When it was first constructed it probably was ok but frankly anyone who rates this hotel above a two star needs his head examined.
I'm beginning to wonder at the veracity of trip advisors reports , sure if you're from Bangladesh it's probably a good hotel but for average Australian, American or European citizens its a non starter.

I've stayed in Manila many times and allowed my travel agent to select this hotel as We are only staying - thank god - one night before flying out.

The wifi is free but very poor keeps dropping out

I know my standards, which don't have to be fancy smancy but clean, presentable and in a reasonable area with a degree of ambience.
The staff here are indifferent and we were unable to get into our room until after 2 pm having arrived at 11 am , there was no intent to accomodate us or being told that as soon as a room was available we could move in, just a " sit in the - grubby - Lobby and wait "

I booked this place on the strength of the TripAdvisor reviews, but I must say that they are way off the mark. Two stars is the max this place deserves.

The hotel is dark, dingy and not very clean. There is a musty smell everywhere. The rooms are in serious need of a revamp, especially the bathrooms, and the common areas are the same. Don’t look too close in the corners of the bathrooms as you will find a lot of dirt, grit and clumps of hair. The rooms, while old and outdated, seemed to be clean enough and the linens/towels etc were changed regularly. Wireless is slow but you can ask for a cable.

The gym is OK, spacious with some good quality equipment, but again there is a musty smell. The rooftop pool is small but also OK. Breakfast is satisfactory if you want some eggs and toast but don’t expect much more. Staff are so-so, the reception desk is not that helpful or friendly but the restaurant staff and housekeeping are all very nice and do their best to serve you.

Beware that the hotel charges you the full amount up front upon checking in, so if you don’t like the hotel you are pretty much stuck there.

Remember, Malate is the red light district so lots of sex tourists stay here. Don’t be surprised to see old white guys with young hookers coming down for breakfast. If this is you and you want a cheap place to use for making pukpuk then this will be the place. But for the serious business traveller you are better off in the Hyatt or the Pan Pacific.

Recently I stayed at the Armada Hotel on two separate occasions. Both times the staff surpassed my expectations.

I booked through an online company. The front desk had my room key card ready when I arrived. A bellman helped me with my luggage and set up the air conditioning.

Room: Large, clean, good linens (triple sheeting), work desk, TV with cable. The ceiling has recessed lighting which is very nice. Wifi worked at typical speeds for the area.

Bathroom: large, very nice sink. They also include bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, a toothbrush, razor and a few other items.

Breakfast in the restaurant on the first floor was very good and the staff were attentive.

If this hotel were just a block or two away the cost would be a lot higher. I am very satisfied and I would go back.

It's not easy to find a new and clean rooms with REASONABLE PRICE around malate.
Im glad that I booked this hotel.
Friendly staffs, breakfast is average, but still able to feed me full. Free WIFI
Spa is good! I like the Thai massage!
Location is good too, I was a bit worry before I came because lonely planet said that there are a lot of bars on MH Del Pilar street, luckly not really near the hotel.
But the rooms near the street is a bit noisy.

Hello MOJ1968! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we wish, you had a better experience; it is feedback like this that helps us improve our services. Unfortunately, there are things we cannot control especially the ongoing construction nearby. To avoid such inconvenience, we usually provide our guests rooms far from the outside noise. It’s just unfortunate that our occupancy rate during your stay is running high and you were assigned to a room where loud noises can be heard inside the room. In regards with the issue with the room, please rest assured that this has been cascaded to our Housekeeping Department and will be prioritized in list of rooms for refurbishment. We would also like to clear a few things. If you booked a room under your name and another person will be using the room (either partner, family, relatives or friends), we will have to ask him to provide an authorization letter from you. This is to ensure your and other hotel guests security and safety. On the other hand, since we used your credit card to settle the incidental deposit, the amount of Php2000.00 was only put on hold. This will reflect on your statement of account as pending or on hold charges. And once verified that no additional charges incurred during your stay, the on hold deposit will be returned to you. We know we cannot get it right all of the time but when we make a mistake, we really try to rectify it before our guest or client leaves the hotel & restaurant. We want to ensure that they leave us feeling happy and relaxed. Again, thanks for letting us know about our shortcomings and for choosing us for your stay in Manila. Thank you and safe travels!

Hi helaena_9! We do have smoking rooms. In regards with the bar, unfortunately we don't have one. We do serve alcoholic drinks until 10pm at Caliber Cafe and through room service 24/7.
