I booked through Agoda for 2 nights and upon check-in, it took them around 30mins before sorting out my room. Then there was an additional fee to the Agoda rate I reserved with and ended up paying more than I wanted.

I asked for a nonsmoking room but the room they placed me in smelled like cigarette smoke. There was no complimentary bottled water and I had to ask for service water every now and then. The window of the room was small and there was no view at all. Wifi was also deplorable. I couldnt even get my email to load. Cleanliness of the room was below par. I saw a couple of small roaches near the table and at the CR.

What makes matters worst, the next day, front desk said I was due for check out. This boggled and pissed me since i paid for 2 nights in full amount! In the end, they sorted out their mistake BUT didnt even bother to apologize for the inconvenience. Will never stay here again.

Stayed in this hotel ever since it was still called Friendy Hotel. In total certainly over 40 nights so I think I'm qualified to offer an educated opinion.

Location is perfect for Ermita. Everything within minutes of walking distance. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are small and start to show signs of tear and wear. Housekeeping does not clean properly. Roaches everywhere and corners, bathroom and under the furniture filthy.

Some adjacent rooms do not have the dividing wall extend all the way to the shared window surface, thus you can actually see right into the next room. Not to mention hearing someone having an intimate session with his companion. Most annoying.

In room wifi has not worked in years and several requests to fix this have been ignored.

Once night coming back to the hotel I found the front desk clerk fast asleep in the back office at 4am. Front door was unlocked and considering the dubious characters in the area this is a serious safety concern. Wanted to speak about this with the manager Mrs Perez the next day. Though she was in the office in plain view of me at the desk, she made me wait 30min before she could be bothered to talk to me. I could not understand why she'd deliberately humiliate and disrespect a frequent guest in this way.

She agreed to sort this out but since then I've caught the front desk staff asleep on several occasions. However considering how Mrs Perez treated me last time, I did not feel like wanting to be humiliated again and said nothing.

I wrote about my concerns directly to Mrs Perez asking her to comment before I would go public with my opinions but as expected she did not bother to respond.

For a Hotel Manager to be so openly dismissive of valid concerns of long term customers is incomprehensible to me and leaves little hope for things to improve in the future. I feel sorry for the staff who are genuinely friendly and helpful, both the girls at the Front Desk and the boys at the door and in the restaurant but they are let down by the attitude of Mrs Perez.

Price was recently increased from P 1850 to P 2000. In light of deteriorating quality and the attitude of Mrs Perez I can no longer recommend this hotel to anyone. It's a shame because for years it was my preferred hotel in Manila but I refuse to be treated in this way.

A max 3 star if not 2+ hotel. I chose it to stay from 13 Mar - 16 Mar 2019 and booked
Standard Double based on the high rating on Agoda. The Bed was comfortable and the room is clean but lacking a lot of what you would expect like slippers, bath robe, drinking water bottles, coffee and tea (kettle is provided) Iron (not even if you request from house keeping).

The first room I was checked in was very small; Then changed to a bigger room however it was having a big column in the middle which realy made the room arrangementodd.

Housekeeping were very quick to respond to calls and provide what they can provide (not much indeed except for soap or toilet roll or to make up the room). However the biggest comment I have against them is that they were always very noisy once they started making up the floor rooms. That was really disturbing if you want to rest late morning.

The bathroom was very small and difficult to move around while closing and opening the door.

The breakfast was set menu type: either american breakfast (one choice) of filippino breakfast (4 choices) but it was just ok. You can not ask of refil of coffee or you would be charged another breakfast (that is what I was told).

Staff were all friendly which in a way made up for the feeling of being in a less expected hotel.

The neighborhood is not the type I would like to stay in but for some tourests that is exactly what the would like to be in .. so actually it is for the traveller to decide if it suites him !!!

Good Day!

Just want to share my experience in Vieve Hotel. I was just passed by and saw this hotel, I stayed for 1 night. they gave me good service. The bellman and guard assisted me, when i asked for room availability they accompanied me to the front office area. The Front Desk Officer was very accommodating. They keep smiling and they are very polite. The room that i got is not pricey, breakfast included and you have a choice it's either breakfast or lunch and they can also served inside your room. When it comes to check out they have a courtesy call to remind the guest for the check out time. We will be back again soon! Till next time.

I checked into this hotel 29th feb 2020 for 2 nights, reception was friendly as was the bell boy, we dropped our bags in the room and went straight out for something to eat. when we returned and actually looked round the room we were disgusted at how dirty it was. firstly nail clippings on the desk, very grubby bedding and worse of all there were small jumping cockroaches, it made my skin crawl. I had no choice but to leave immediately. were told reception who offered us another room but I think if one room is like that then they must all be. I would rather lose the money and stay elsewhere. so we walked up the road and checked into the executive hotel at additional cost, but rather that then stay in a dirty hotel.
I travel all over the world with my main focus on Philippines and stay many many hotels, ive never found one as bad as this, there so many other hotels in this area at the same price that are much better.

If you want to stay in Malate, this place is a great deal.....close from the seaside, and close to Robinson Malate.....ask for a room in the back to be quiet.....very clean, and the breakfast is included....if you arrive early there are 4 parking spaces in front.....there’s a 7eleven just across for any late buy......

Decided to pay a bit more than our normal traveling budget and was dissapointed in value for money in this hotel. The room itself was fine, big and clean but the service was a total let down.

We were told we had free lunch or breakfast so decided to take the lunch. What they didnt tell us what that is was a choice of three on a set menu and none of them looked appetising. Also no drink included.

Packet of nuts in the room and the folllowing morning they wacked on a load more money for service charge. Not sure what service they provided seeing as the bag of nuts was already in the room.

Very let Down, from the offset thought it was going to be a good find but sadly not

Let's get to the point. This hotel is crawling with roaches. In the elevator, in the hallways and especially in the rooms. I asked the staff to spray the room and they did. Still more roaches. I asked them to spray it again and they did. We had to vacate the room each time of course. And still the spray they used did not kill all the roaches.

This hotel has the potential to be a great budget hotel, but it's not. Best avoided unless you don't mind bugs.

Dirty room, bed is not clean and doesn't seem fresh with stains. internet does not work. I am usually generous even for bad hotels but this one is a no. I also have a cockroach and dust mite allergy, I got rashes the minute I got in the room., can't give a better score even for location since there so many better hotels in the area as well and there are bars all around.
