Staffs are approachable and helpful. Rooms are clean however I asked the front desk if i can smoke inside the room they told me all rooms are non smoking but when I entered the room there is an ash tray on the table. I am confused. There is no tooth brush inside the room you need to buy from their store below. As far as I know, this is a 3 star hotel so yoy should provide the basic needs like tooth brush hope you can improve this issue

My husband & I stayed in this hotel from Oct.6 - Oct.18,2005. Our room rate included daily set Filipino breakfasts which consist of coffee, orange juice, eggs, meat (sausage, bacon or ham) and fried rice or toast. Breakfast is alright, nothing really to be excited about. Being a 3-star hotel, we were not really expecting a lot. We were just hoping our room will be clean and tidy. We stayed in their standard room and we were quite pleased because the room is spotless and modern. The bathroom was clean and maintained (meaning no leak marks on ceilings or molds on bathroom tiles, etc.). The aircondioner was working which is a big deal for us since it was very
hot and humid outside. Daily room cleaning is included and the housekeepers do a good job (I have seen them clean the other rooms and they really change our the bed linens & towels daily & vacuum the rooms). For the rate that we paid (Ph 2,200; about $40/night), this hotel is a bargain. We will definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in a decent, reasonably-priced hotel in Manila.

I have stayed this hotel already 20 times and always returning back reason great location and good value of money. If traffic is not heavy trip from the Naia international airport takes only 20 minutes. Front desk service has improved a lot during past 5 years maybe reason i am frequent customer already? Rooms are still ok and clean , aircons sometimes bit noisy as far rooms located to Mabini street side too. Security in the hotel is good but outside better to be extra careful, avoid accompany you dont know so well.

Tip. When checking out of hotel better leave luggages to the door man and walk short distance,.take a taxi with meter and stop by hotel picking up bags, you might be lucky and find yourself back to the airport without scamming and double price taxi fee 500 pesos.

Ive been here for 5 days and the stay is relaxing. Church, mall and restaurants at just few steps away. The receptionists were nice and respectful. Rooms were clean and spacious plus the price is very reasonable. I will recommend this to other friends looking for a short relaxation.

The location is good, but hotel room is very basic and small, single bed is small. Nothing is provided except the towels, Even the basic toileteries like hair shampoo, toothbrush etc not provided unless you pay for it, I did not expect even NO complementary water in the room.

The corridor lights to the rooms are off even at 11pm, very dark. Sound insulation of the rooms not very good, not much window in the room except a tiny one at the side.

I felt very disgusted when I asked to loan an adapter for my hand phone charger (mine is round pin but wall socket is square), they wanted to charge me P75. At the end I bought one for P15.

I think the hotel does not deserve to be 3 star as they claimed, as their facilities provided is worst than no star.

The location is probably the best thing about this place. Its dated, got a nice 1970's feel to it. The beds were extremely small.

Nothing special to say about it. The staff did their job, nothing above and beyond the duty, which is fine.

I probably wouldn't stay there again, would look elsewhere in the Malate.

Stayed at the Executive Plaza hotel in Manila for 4 nights in Feb 2008 on a business trip.

By European standards, it's probably between an Etap and an Ibis.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean. Check in was quick and no fuss. Make sure you keep your valuables stored in the safe deposit box at the front desk; theft in hotel rooms is a problem in the Philippines.

The hotel is located about 5 mins walk from the Robinsons Place Mall (make 2 right turns after leaving the hotel door and the mall is ahead of you on the left). You will find lots of restaurants and cafes in this mall. There's also a 7-Eleven next to the hotel.

If you could skip the breakfast in the hotel, please do so - it was expensive and not nice (few pieces of bread, egg and coffee for US$7). I had to eat in the hotel throughout my stay because of business meetings.

Services and room condition doesn't reflects a 3 star hotel,
front office is slow, rude, hardly smiled and ignorant, i booked 1 week in advance and had the confirmation email from them. But when i checked in they did not have this informations. Made me to wait 2 hours for them to sort it out. $%FDFDG!!!!
After a long and tiring flight this would be the last thing i expect from them.

Room and washroom are in deplorable conditions, mosquitos in the room (NO KIDDING), no amenities (water), no balcony, no window and the tv only has 2 channel, no central airconditioning the antic seasoned 80s wall mounted air-con is in dire need for an upgrade.

Seriously worst than a Room in a Brothel.

I booked this hotel online so before I checked in I confirmed my booking by calling their number, was just surprised why the front desk person who answered the call seems so clueless about online bookings. I told him that my reservation has already been paid for.

When I checked-in, it seems that the front desk people are NOT SO FRIENDLY. Usually, guests are greeted with a smile even before they step in close to the front desk counter. I felt chilling cold like someone smile back just for the sake of doing it. I just went on and did not mind it since I'm already there and I needed the room for my next day appointment at the US Embassy nearby.

It was around past 4am when I got ready to leave, I asked for assistance from the head guard to grab me a taxi going to the US Embassy which I'm sure most guests would expect that guards would gladly assist them but in my experience, it seems that the head guard (not regular guard) is so accommodating. He seemed shocked why I even asked for assistance when in fact I called the front desk about it before I even came down from my room. It's just another cold demeanor towards me. I was thinking, well, maybe the guard was just sleepy and might have lost focus so I didn't mind it. You'll be enlightened as I go along with my story.

It was already 2pm when I went back to the hotel after a successful appointment at the US Embassy. I understand that the checkout time was noon so I just opted to stay for the night instead since I have my brother with me and we still have some things to do later in the day.

I went to the front desk around 3pm after changing clothes. There I saw two foreign guys being assisted at the front desk. I'm sure they're busy with the transaction for whatever that maybe. I was expecting that at least someone at the front desk will acknowledge me and my brother's presence and at least tells us to have a seat first til we get our turn. Apparently, there was none. It felt like our presence is not even there at all. Nobody greeted. Nada...null.

Isn't it good customary to acknowledge someone's presence even though you can't assist them right away? Where has gone the good customer service the hospitality industry is bragging about? Is that because we're Filipinos and not foreigners? What's the difference? We're paying the same amount of fees, room mates and what have you, we're not staying for free. We give tips after every hotel service we get. I don't understand the cold treatment we've had from these front desk people which the room service people did not show, instead they were very friendly and polite.

When it was my turn, I asked the front desk clerk that I'm opting to stay for one more night, instead she told me that we can only stay overnight coz the hotel is fully booked. What I'm trying to say is that we only need one more night to stay since it's past noon and we no longer want to check out. From the tone of her voice it seems that she doesn't want us there anymore. As what like, is that how you treat your local FIlipino guests?

I really don't understand the cold treatment. It feels down right insulting and degrading for local guests to be treated unfairly.

I had no choice but to take it all in. I can't leave anymore and our stuff is not ready.

Me and my brother went out after confirming a new online reservation to stay for the night. When we both came back to the hotel, there's a guy at the entrance who opened the door. He was probably expecting a foreign guest but as I expected, it's another cold treatment and there was not even a greeting to welcome us.

I said to myself, it's alright, I'm checking out tomorrow anyway.

It's past 9am when we checked out, I was trying to call front desk to tell them that we're checking out but no one is picking up the phone. When we went down just a 2-3 minutes later, there were people in the front desk. They just probably don't want to pick up the phone.

Anyways, so much for the bad experience. It's a freezing cold treatment just as cold as the on-going Sochi Winter Olympics.

The only saving grace about the entire stay was the amazing people behind room service. Found out they were just OJTs who treats locals better than their "employee" counterparts.

I'm soon to be engaged with my American fiance and feels as well that my experience wasn't very good.

Being a travel website owner myself, I think it's my duty to share my personal experience with the hotels I stayed during my travels. It will help other people bound for travel to make better choices.

Responded 24 Feb 2014
Dear Mattraveller2014, First of all, we would like to thank you for choosing The Executive Plaza Hotel. Second, we are very sorry for the unpleasant experience you have encountered during your stay with us, specifically that time where we have a bulk booking. Moreover, we understand that such kind of treatment should not have any room in the hospitality industry. In fact, based on our statistics, locals are on top of our list, hence we ensure that our guests are being acknowledged. Nevertheless, all your concerns were reviewed for the necessary action. Comments like yours are very important to us and we are thankful for calling our attention. Hoping you will be back again for another chance to be of service to you.
