There are cheaper hotels around the area but I chose to return to Manila Lotus Hotel as I'm familiar surroundings. Greeted by the security guys who double as doormen with a warm "Welcome Back Sir". Check in process went along just fine with the usual refundable P1,000 security deposit. Was assigned Room 318 (3rd floor) as the elevator was being serviced (it remained out of service for 3 days) Had help with lugging my baggage up to the room. Note, this is now a non-smoking hotel.

Room
Clean, bed comfy and air conditioner works fine. TV also works.
Amenities
Instant coffee and tea bags with sugar and creamer with a hot water kettle,
small refrigerator. 2 glass tumblers and 2 sets of cup and saucer.
Restroom
Hand lotion and soap dispenser and Hair Dryer at the sink and shower had Bath Soap and shampoo dispenser. Toilet Paper and bidet available

It used to be that the rooms also came with 2 bath towels and 2 face towels, now there's only 2 bath towels. Also little things like dental and shaving kits are only made available upon request from the housekeeping people of front desk.

Food - Breakfast buffet that comes with the room is still good, but I did notice that they had cut back on food options. Didn't see any bacon during my whole 9 day stay. Also the iconic Mr. Vic is no longer there to greet everyone and anyone with his infectious smile and warm personality.

The only thing that bugged me is that on 3rd Sept after there was quite a heavy downpour, I returned to the room late at night I found a puddle of water between the window and bed. Apparently there's a leak somewhere, the only thing that housekeeping could do was to towel dry and leave towels by the wall next to the window.

All in all a good stay, but will be checking out other hotels for my next visit to Manila

Booked 4 nights during March 2023, one night (STD room) when we flew in and for 3 nights ( Kitchenette, which I highly recommend) prior to flying out.

Had booked the accommodation through bookings.com (effortless and so easy).. a few staff changes over the past years, but those who remained on site remarkably remembered us by name as we entered after some years being away.

The breakfast buffet was acceptable, and all enjoyed. This hotel is still very much value for money and is, in my opinion, highly recommended for those stopping over in transit while in manila.

Manila lotus is a very nice hotel. Located 3 k from Intramuros and central Manila. 5 mins walk from the US embassy. It has to be reminded this is a 3 star hotel. All functions work hot water air conditioning and toilet facilities. I had no issues with the room in fact my sons friend came to stay with us unexpectedly and it was no issue we paid a small fee and they upgraded us to a bigger room. The breakfast was great they catered for local Asian food and American breakfast and it was very plentiful. For the price I would thoroughly recommend Manila lotus and we will be going back next week for a few days at the end of our trip. Lastly I have to say the staff are brilliant they were extremely attentive and very welcoming. A big shout out to Roxy, Jes and Neil who helped us with guides, suggestions and answered all our questions and overall made our stay very enjoyable!

i was looking through hotels for the quarantine when i accidentally click on this hotel and prepaid the booking via Agoda. I immediately called to request for cancellation but the hotel didnt agree for a refund. Furthermore, the booking is for 5nights wherein the quarantine only needs 3nights stay. Requested for the extra 2 nights to be offset for meals, but hotel has also refused.

Outside food deliveries are not allowed but you can ask for grocery item for delivery?? hotel is taking advantage of the situation to earn more.

Agoda is willing to refund only if the hotel agrees with it but the hotel only offered an alternative dates of stay for cancellation request or for the unused nights.

With the pandemic situation the world is facing now, no one knows when will this even end! Therefore, i am left with no choice but to push through the booking. Will be arriving today for my unwanted hotel stay, hopefully things will eventually come around coz im having negative views on my first impression!

This hotel is a designated QUARANTINE ONLY hotel for transients. They will accept a reservation and payment, but you cant stay there. Good luck getting a refund. AVOID! It was a nice hotel when it was open to the public.

This was my first time back in Manila and at Manila Lotus Hotel since early 2020. I stayed a total of 7 nights (1n, then 5n, then 1n) in a Superior Room, as my base in Manila and in between travelling to other locations. It suits me to stay in the Ermita/Malate area and, given that, this has been my go-to hotel for a number of years.

The area itself is a bit rough around the edges, but its close walking distance to Manila Bay/Baywalk, Rizal Park, the large Robinsons Mall with loads of eating and shopping options, other eating and entertainment options I like such as G Point, Cowboy Grill, and yes even Jollibee. The historic Intramuros is only about 25 mins walk.

All interactions from reservation, through check in, buffet breakfast, housekeeping, general reception/enquiries, security/door staff and check out were excellent. Always friendly, helpful and efficient, including for some specific requests I had about my room allocation, booking me a grab etc. Great people experience.

Superior Room - for me is good value for the price point. Clean, in good order and all expected items provided and working. I like some of the Filipino touches too, which add a little personality, such as the lamp bases.

Breakfast buffet was included in the room price and for me was good. A lot of Filipino options but also fruit platter, vegies, toast, cereal, pancakes and an egg station to cook fresh eggs or an omelette. Nice start to the day in a nice setting and friendly, helpful staff.

Common hotel areas - within the hotel is a nice place to be, all in good order and nicely setup.

Overall a great stay.

We arrived in the early hours and were allocated a very basic double room. It was clean but small with an awful view from the window. Next morning we upgraded to a much bigger lighter room with 2 queen beds & a kitchenette & and we were much happier.
The hotel staff were lovely & friendly.
Buffet breakfast with Filipino & European food was good.
Location was great for bars & eateries & a shopping mall.
Good value even with the upgrade charges for a city hotel.

This was a revisited occasion. The room I was told was a superior room, it was very small. It was not like before. We had a strange call from reception asking me to tell my guest to leave, this was gone 10.15pm and the only person with me was my wife. This could of been a big problem, so we both got dressed and went to reception only to be told that they rang the wrong room . I asked for an extension of stay for my room as we had a late flight of which I paid for only for housekeeping to knock on the door asking for us to check out at 10AM, so another trip to reception was needed. I don't think that we will return.

If you take the time to read my reviews, I rarely complain about hotels as I always find something good about them, even when everyone else is complaining. But this hotel will be my exception. The entire staff and manager as this hotel simply DO NOT CARE! When you go to their website and see these lovely, new and extremely nice rooms, please keep in mind those photos were taken when they first opened a few years ago. Today the rooms are run down in every way. The walls are yellow from nicotine. The beautiful wood floors in the photos are litterally falling apart to the point of 8-10 inch chunks of wood all over the floors are ready to stab deep into your feet. I know because it happened to me. Had to walk to the pharmacy and buy the tools to dig this out of my foot as the management would do nothing. The bathrooms are in shabby shape and the tiles are cracking and falling off. The air conditioners barely work as the management has no clue that they must be cleaned and serviced every once in a while. I stayed in an executive non smoking room that is advertised with flat screen tv and so lovely in the photos. No flat screen tv and truly a dump of a room. The biggest draw for the hotel is their sign in front advertising free wi-fi. They are correct. It is free. It just does not work. At all!!!
Complained to the staff and manager daily for 5 days. Their patented answer is always the same - "Sorry Sir", as if that is supposed to solve the problem. They do nothing to solve the problem. As I mentioned before, THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE.
There are plenty of hotels in this area and they are way, way, way better although their websites with photos are much the same. But at least they care and try to make an effort. This hotel is worthless!

Best option is to catch a Grab. Price is fixed. Taxis tend to take the longer way around or even the roads with traffic in order for the higher meter charges. Grab usually is between 270 - 400 depending on time of day.

Hi there, Yes the fitness centre is free of charge. it is very small with only a few machines. There is a water machine in there so it's great to visit, even just to save money from buying water all the time. Hope this helps!
