At Samara Hotel, guests often commend the cleanliness and spaciousness of the rooms, despite occasional under-equipped features and lapses in daily cleaning. While the hotel's staff typically receives praise for their professionalism and helpfulness, there have been instances of less than welcoming interactions. Some travelers feel the evenings lack vibrancy, citing entertainment and music that miss the mark. Additionally, concerns are raised about the hotel's value, with guests citing overpricing and services that don't meet expectations. The amenities, while generally appreciated, sometimes fall short in luxury and can experience overcrowding.

I have booked 8-night holiday in Samara hotel in Bodrum and this is my seventh day at the hotel.
For me, Turkish hospitality is among the best in the world, and I was curious if it would also be the case in Bodrum, as it is a famous resort city. I have to admit that I had pretty high expectations of the Samara hotel, and even so, they were exceeded.
This hotel’s all-inclusive packet gives value for money if you value excellent service, professional staff, excellent food and premises which are in perfect condition.
Rooms are very nice, classy and spotless clean. The private beach is beautiful and perfect for families with kids. Pool area and bars, and serenity pool in particular, are perfect for afternoon chilling.
The amazing variety and quality of food is incredible. The a la carte restaurant needs to be booked in advance; however the main restaurant serving the buffet dinner has enough choice that you don’t need to go anywhere else
Hotel's staff are not only professional, but show genuine interest in their guests. They are all very friendly, helpful and hospitable. The house keeping staff is excellent, they clean the room every day and top up soap, shampoo, towels and any other bits and pieces.
Last but not least, the coronavirus precautions are really impressive. I was pleasantly surprised by the precaution measures being taken at the Samara hotel. Face mask usage among hotel staff is exceptional; all employees wear their face mask perfectly, including the staff working long shifts by the pool and on the beach in 36C.
Most of the guests do not wear face masks; however, there is plenty of room for proper physical distancing in the main restaurant and the majority of the guests are considerate and respect the personal space of others.
I advise everybody to book their holiday at the Samara hotel in Bodrum without any fear and hesitation.

Having just returned today this is hopefully a review that will help with your visit and what to expect, be aware, this is a wonderful place full of wonderful staff, coming home will be difficult!
Firstly let’s be real here, this is a Hotel in Turkey full of Turkish and many other nationalities (I think we were the only British there) so don’t expect English food and people, don’t expect them to be fully averse in English it’s your job to learn to communicate with them.
The preparation of the food is stunning, no you won’t get sausages beans and bacon, if you want your English food go elsewhere, if you want to adventure into the wonderful world of Turkish cuisine then this is your place.
The drinks are both unbranded and branded, the pool bar will fill you up with chips, burgers, kebabs etc, great for lunch time eating.
The rooms are spotless with a very comfortable bed and air conditioning that will cool you down instantly after basking in the 36 degree heat.
A small walk up the hill you’ll find the bus into Bodrum, at around 90p it’s a must visit even if just to see the array of shops selling fakes, be prepared to do it the Turkish way though, a rattling mini bus with good old fashioned air con….opening windows!
Lastly a big thank you to Ersin, Huseyin and the so so lovely Siyahan for making our restaurant visits such a pleasure.

Just had a week in the Samara hotel and this hotel is turkish rated 5 star and to be honest the hotel itself is absolutely spotless with high end decor in all areas and the rooms are probably the best we have stayed in.The staff all work extremely hard to keep the hotel working like clockwork. On arrival the reception chandelier is enormous and will give you an idea of what's in store.5 bars plus a disco which we never saw anybody in. This hotel was extremely busy when we were there but there was never an issue getting a sunbed. For us personally there was a few issues that would put us off coming here again. Firstly this hotel has a lot of families with small babies/ children and meal times and around the pool can be quite loud with the screams and crying which as a parent I know can't be helped but if your looking for a nice quiet drink or meal forget it. Secondly the food is varied but just the same nearly every day and getting your food from the buffet is like a rush hour fight. Evenings are a bit more relaxed after 10 o'clock and a nice quiet drink with friends is really nice looking out over the bay. A taxi into bodrum costs about 6 euros and is good value.

Returned yesterday from a weeks stay. Unfortunately this is not a 5* hotel as advertised but does have plenty of positive aspects.

We stayed in room 425, have absolutely no complaints, quiet well placed room with a balcony, partial sea view in the main building close to reception. Room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Hairdryer was pretty good and shower was powerful and hot water plentiful.

Hotel is well presented and very clean, but the problem lies with the outdoor space which is inadequate for the number of guests staying. Beach is small and sun beds are packed in like sardines. The areas around the main pool are the same, guests spill out onto the lawns to escape each other. Adult pool is very nice and less crowded with a limited number of sun beds.

Plenty of sun beds and yes people do reserve them early but we never had a problem getting one after we had eaten breakfast so didn’t feel any pressure to rush down at the crack of dawn.

Food is cooked to a good standard but lacks variety with lunch and dinners barely differing. There is no theme to dinner therefore you feel like you are eating and seeing the same things each day. You will not go hungry but overall not a great experience. Restaurant is extremely busy and sometimes too crowded. They lack any other area that serves a good quality snack at lunchtime that is different to what is served in the main restaurant.

We tried the Turkish culinary meal which was very nice but the portions are so huge we couldn’t eat it all which was a shame and it was just the same food they serve in the main restaurant, so nothing different.

House white wine drinkable but don’t bother with a cocktail as they do not have a clue, they have an extensive cocktail list but totally irrelevant as they are rarely drinkable. I gave up and stuck to a G&T which they couldn’t ruin. Efes beer extremely nice.

Took a taxi to Bodrum, hotel reception with call for you, cost approx 2500 Turkish lira (£8). Reception staff were helpful and friendly.

Staff work very hard and most are happy and friendly, especially those in the restaurant area. We found some of the bar staff less than happy and not particularly welcoming but there were some that were very pleasant.

Entertainment was really odd as it was situated away from the hotel in the grounds in a separate area so we never saw it so can not comment on the standard. Hotel lacks any atmosphere in the evening as the entertainment is so separate.

Overall a relaxing week but far too overcrowded and busy in what we considered a time near the end of the season. Both hotels either side were already closed for the season. There are no luxurious touches you would expect from a 5* hotel, no waiter service even for drinks around the pool, no elaborate food displays, no towel art, chocolate on your pillow etc.. not that these are hugely important but they do make a holiday extra special.

Myself and my partner travelled to Hotel Samara at the beginning of October after our trip to Crete was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Hotel Samara is fantastic in terms of size and beauty, but when it came down to food, I genuinely couldn’t believe it...

There are many Russian/German guests at this accommodation, not leaving much catered for us Brits.

No bacon, sausage, beans, grilled tomatoes, even mushrooms. Instead greeted by sour croute, and other European delicacies.

On top of no food for breakfast, it was 18 lira for a freshly squeezed glass of orange juice! The lunch and dinner options were very similar day on day, but I wish it had more variety.

On the whole, the hotel is fantastic, but let down by food and evening entertainment.

Stayed mid to end of October, which is very end of the season. A bit windy, but still good for sunbathing.
Some staff speak English, most know only few phrases though. Receptionists are not very fluent either.
A la carte restaurant: open only in summer season, from October they just set tables by the pool. Needs to be booked in advance with hotel rep, who is in reception in the mornings, but could be away or off that day. Dishes have to be paid for. Giant prawns appeared to be normal size and overcooked. Not worth a price. Service was great though.
Self service restaurant: good selection of food, slightly changed every time and every day. Dinner being most abundant of meals throughout the day. Snack bar have food at day time and around midnight, so one would never go hungry. Drinks: beers good, wine-not, soft drinks not good, coffee terrible, better options need to be paid for.
Beach: small stones, but sand further next to bar areas. Plenty of space to sunbathe, people drag their loungers around and get comfortable everywhere. As mentioned, we were there at the very end of season.
Hotel area not big, very tidy and quiet.
Location: isolated, cannot reach anything by foot, taxi to Bodrum €10, about 15mins drive. Another option is to catch mini bus, outside hotel area, next to DoorA hotel, bus nr 2, cost 15 liras.
Wifi: slow and switches off after few minutes, so one needs to log on again and again.
Tennis court: €5 to hire racquets and balls for an hour, court - painted artificial grass, a lot of sand. Looks like nobody cares about it.

The place, staff, cleanliness is all fantastic. Rooms good sized & clean. Public toilets besides pool are exceptional. Bodrum is a 10-15 minutes journey and the in house spa is excellent. The Turkish Bath + Massage Package was exceptionally value for money and I indulged in some Ayurvedic Massage as well. Its easy to book any water adventures and once you have negotiated prices its good fun. The entertainment in the evening was non-existent (not sure if its because of Covid) but the general music was very disappointing and the DJs who were supposed to be playing music in the night club were busy attending to their own business at the dance floor ;) Overall its an exceptional value for money and if they pay a tiny bit more attention to the entertainment and food, it would just be exceptional !!

Really Lovely Hotel , Good Location.
Just a 10-15 minute Journey at the top of the road on the Bus to Bodrum ( 50p)
Nice little Beach , Good Pools , Good priced Water sports & Boat trips right there on the beach,,
Great Hard Working friendly polite Staff. Nice Spa , (with turkish bath & Sauna etc , need to haggle on prices for treatments , very nice massage.
Couldn't really fault this nice hotel with good amenities & Staff.

The food did become a bit repetitive but was good, and there really does need to be a bit more choice for English i.e.: Sausages, mushrooms etc, as didn't see any of that at breakfast' But Was all good and sufficient, thank goodness for the Omelettes!
Tea & Coffee would of been nice in the room or at least tea/ coffee available prior to 8am!
Entertainment not great , just ok' it could be improved.
Overall we had a lovely stay and would def return
The Sullivans :)

I stayed at the Hotel Samara for two nights whilst on my way to Bodrum from another part of Turkey. This review is some what biased given that the stay was only for two nights, however I believe a hotel should be the same regardless of how long you are staying there for.

Starting with Check-In, no problems at all and a clean professional welcome from the reception staff and bell boys. We drove and used the hotel car park which was fine, very close to reception.

The room itself was fine, very modern and clean. The room has air conditioning which was pretty good all though the room was always warm. We had a modern shower room which was quality and the hotel provided toiletries. The TV was fine and we connected our Laptop to watch a film, using a cable the hotel kindly provided as the TV isn't Smart and doesn't have any on demand features like Netflix. The balcony was a good size and looked over the back of the hotel but this was what I booked so no complaint there.

We did have to order robes as the room didn't have any upon arrival, but these arrived quickly. The room didn't have any tea, coffee, milk, cups, spoons etc at all and we waited approx. 24 hours for this and chased reception around 5 times.

The swimming pool area was very nice, clean, with a swim up bar. The bar service throughout the day was very good and a true all inclusive. The beach was very nice as well all though this is artificial and very gritty. The only issue with the swimming pool and beach was that the majority of sun beds were covered in towels all though no one on them. It was very hard to find somewhere to sit and it seems most of the hotel guests were reserving sub beds all though when most of the time they were not there.

Food at the hotel was average and a bit of a let down. The buffet in the main restaurant was always warm, not hot. The options were quite poor and not a 5* offering. There is a A La Carte Turkish restaurant which was fully booked during our stay and the Fish Restaurant was closed. The snack bar which is by the pool was however very good with made to order snacks during the day.

On our final evening we ate in the main restaurant but waited for around 15-20 minutes for a table to be made as there were non available. I believe this was a combination of language barrier with the staff but also they were very busy offering a good service to demanding customers who were already seated. I.e. clearing plates from tables with customers sat but not clearing a table which had no one on.

The customers at the hotel were quite rude to the staff throughout and it wasn't a particularly pleasant experience. Some times in the buffet you would have someone walk straight in front of you and there seemed to be a complete lack of universal manors.

The spa area looked very nice, all though quite expensive. The water sports equally were overpriced, 50 British Pounds for 20 minutes Jet Ski.

In summary, the hotel is okay and pretty average. I would not stay at the hotel again and felt that it lacks some very basics.

Stayed here with a friend for a week beginning of June. The weather was brilliant and I was very happy with the hotel. The room was spacious with very comfy beds and very blackout curtains so had great sleep. The bathroom was clean and good shower. The mini bar was stocked daily with water and soft drinks although we did have to ring to ask for refills a couple of times.
The pool area was great, we didn’t have any issue with sun beds even if we came down quite late. The beach was nice, the sea was lovely to swim in. The pool bar was well stocked and had nice cocktails, you could swim up to the bar.

The food was nice in the all inclusive, breakfast lots of fruit, bread, pastries, eggs. Lunch and dinner has a variety of different options, all very nice. Had great kebabs a couple of times in the week. We ate in the al a carte restaurant for breakfast which was amazing and for dinner, the lamb was delicious.

I would definitely return.
