Alta lodge is an anachronism in a world of chain hotels, media everywhere, corporate ownership and 24 hour everything. Its an old school ski lodge, with great food, terrific sking, friendly helpful staff and interesting guests from all over the world. The rooms and physical facilities are old, and to some they will be unappealling, but to others they will...

The Alta Lodge knows how to make it happen when the big storms hit. Knew we had the potential of a 2 foot dump and asked the GM about the opportunity for a backcountry snow cat trip. That was on a Monday morning and 2 days later...along with other lodge guests we were skiing fresh lines in Grizzly Gulch. This...

A recent ski trip with friends included 2 days/nights at Alta/Snowbird. I had enjoyed both Alta & Snowbird before, so was really excited about the skiing. I decided to reserve a bed in a bunkroom at Alta Lodge to minimize cost - rooms at Snowbird and most at Alta were just too expensive. Knew nothing else about the place, was...

Not sure why this place continues to get good reviews. The physical facilities are outdated and in poor shape The bar is dark and creepy as is the sauna and jacuzzi area. The rooms spartan and small and noise travels between rooms. A bright spot is good food with a nice variety of menu. The staff has varied from helpful...

Sunday through Friday at the Alta Lodge. Breakfast and dinner included with our lodge accommodations with a view of the mountains of Alta. First day 2 feet of new snow and gale force winds - still the skiing was tremendous but if not, one could sit by the fire and read. High tea mid afternoon, events brought in about the...

We're first time visitors at Alta Lodge and we loved it! It's a real mid century modern jewel with wonderful ambiance, great service, and perfect location. The included meals are convenient, breakfast is great, dinner is good. We loved the view from our room and the apres ski lounge with tea and cake. The ski lockers make it easy to...

Just the best ski vacation ever, Mimi and staff will tend to your every need. no TV's in the room makes for a quiet nights sleep (no noisy neighbors) The Hot...

For 9 years friends of mine encouraged me to come to Alta and stay at the Alta Lodge. I always had a reason to go elsewhere. I finally went 9 years ago and have been back 9 years in a row. I have stayed in the small original building rooms, rooms in the first addition facing both sides, rooms in...

The Alta lodge is family owned for over 50 years and celebrates the classic ski lodges of the past with today's comforts. If you want the night life and the newest new york chef, this is not your place. Although it hosts one of the best ski bars in North America, this is not Vail. For real skiers that's a...

One of the best skiing trips I have ever taken! Four days of skiing with great people, excellent instruction targeted at my specific needs and fantastic hosts. Although this was my first time at Powder Tracks at Alta Lodge, more than half of the guests there had been coming for years. I made some new friends on this trip. Each...
