The area is uninspiring, although it is only 10 minutes from the station. The room was very small. The air conditioning was impossible - either too hot or too cold, and the atmosphere was much too DRY = I didn't sleep well. There was a lot of noise from other guests going to their rooms, or holding rather loud conversations...

I stayed at the Hamamatsu Hotel for a week in September, 2013, and some of that was extended due to Typhoon ManYi. First of all, I liked the surrounding area and the walk from the station. (With luggage, allow yourself 10 minutes.) The area on the south side of the station is the older section of town and I like...

“NOT the fourth floor. The smoking stink comes down from the fifth floor. NOT near the drinks machines / laundry area on the fifth floor (noisy). Not worth a penny more than the cheapest business hotel you can find. we paid ¥9500. Too much, really!!”
