Bang next to the church. It's the best location with the buzz of the city and yet slightly private. The staff was extremely cooperative. Rooms, clean and spacious. We stayed in the Madagascar room and had a great view.

Thank god we were in this hotel since it is right on the center. The moment we deviated and went slightly further from hotel you feel unsafe at times. Hotel also boasts of an excellent restaurant. This is the hotel to book if visiting Salvador!

Great location in pelourinho district - very buzzy! Lovely, antique filled, spacious rooms all different we had both madagascar (views of square) and macau - both excellent! Excellent restaurant with friendly staff, outstanding food and outside patio tables. Breakfast served in the same restaurant by a lovely local woman - good scrambled eggs, breads and cake! The pool is very... More

Villa Bahia is a very beautiful hotel with old fashioned decor matching the old town it is situated in. Our rooms on the first floor were very nice, clean and spacious with large bathrooms and cable tv. The hotel is in a great area with lots of restaurants, shops and beautiful churches nearby as well as live music on the... More

This is a lovely boutique hotel right off the main square in historic Pelourinho. Each room is unique and has its own name and comes with a charming old fashioned key (remember to it drop off with reception when you leave the hotel as they need it to service your room). The rooms are well decorated and our room had... More

We only came for dinner and were not staying in the hotel itself. The meal was very good and reasonably priced for the quality of the food. We both shared the fish and shrimp moqueca followed by creme brulee. After eating relatively indifferent meals over many nights in other restaurants it was wonderful to finally enjoy a memorably excellent dinner!

We had selected this hotel in Salvador thanks to the positive reviews in TripAdvisor (as we always do). We have been disappointed by the quality and the service of this hotel. This place really is overpriced. PROS: - the location is perfect. In the center street of the historical part of Salvador. Close from the interesting places and from the... More

The staff is excellent, the breakfast is DIVINE (do include breakfast when you book; it's wonderfully filling, and the jams and breads are made in house), and the chef is award-winning which shows in elegant dinners. We stayed in the Calicute suite, with two lovely windows facing Sao Sebastian Church. Even though we were on the square side, the room... More

Each room is named after a different Portuguese colony and individually decorated. Our room (Cuchin) even had a roof deck. Enjoyed cooling off in the pool located in inner courtyard off reception. Top-notch breakfasts and outstanding dinners, plus loved location right on the square. One slight issue likely related to the timing of our stay - a bit noisy in... More
