Do not come here expecting five star luxury. This hotel is in an old building with a lot of charm. Nearly all of the hotels in the city are like this. Our room was spacious and plain. The staff was helpful. The hotel is a little distant from the main square and requires a walk up a steep hill. The... More

We stayed in this great town for three nights in November 2010. While walking was an effort, driving up and down some of the hills was horrific! The town is gorgeous, with lots of museums and shops to see. The hotel was quite comfortable and quiet. We had a room that fronted on the street, with gorgeous expansive views. The... More

Service is very good and it is nice to stay at historical building that has a parking lot. Good breakfast and fair price. Although it is not very close to Praça Tiradentes, it is still at walking distance.

A hot shower and a massive bed! Parking facilities, smiling and helpful staff, reasonable breakfast , great view (highly recommend a higher floor), all on a great location. I can't overstate how confy the bed is! Oh, also a massive wardrobe.

Overall I think the hotel is poor to average. First of all, non of the staff speaks well English and understood my questions. I was not happy with the fact that they said to me that I booked for 3 people (my conformation says 1 person), WIFI is terrible / not working (at the room), I could not order a... More

The beautifull Hotel Luxor has spacious rooms in a very classic and sympathic style. It is a bit out of centre, but within ten minutes you can walk up to the main square. Good for your condition! Breakfast is perfect, the staff is very nice. The only thing I missed was espresso coffee.

if one want to feel living in the XVII century then is mandatory to stay at this charming hotel in Ouro Preto. The cute restaurant is said to be used as a salt storage despite some say it was the dungeon to keep the property slaves. On its initial layout the hotel was the residence of a priest. The front... I stayed at this charming hotel when I was in Ouro Preto – some 400 km north of Rio de Janeiro. I was there in October 2012 with some business associates who were being filmed for a TV programme called “The Gem Hunters” produced by The Travel Channel. Ouro Preto is a world heritage site. The town’s main square is... More

It's a good hotel 5 minutes walk (steep!, as it's everything in Ouro Preto) from Placa Tiradentes with beautiful St.Francis church on your way. Big rooms, clean but without ventilator and A/C, not a problem during our stay but I think it could be a problem in summer. Some refreshing would be welcome! Very good bathroom. Wi-Fi, people at desk... More

We are currently spending four nights in Ouro Preto over Easter. This is the kind of pousada we love. It is very close to the towns square. It is very clean and pleasant. It is not extravagant or fancy. The front desk people speak English and are very willing to answer questions and help. The breakfast was nicely laid out.... More
