We stayed with our young children at Sagu and had a lovely family room with a view of the bay. The hotel has recently been refurbished and the staff is helpful and friendly. This is probably the best place to stay, only a few rooms, 10 minutes walk from town and a lovely restaurant for a quiet dinner. The breakfast...

Great place to stay! Nice and quiet, but only a short walk away from the buzz in town. Lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble. Even when we had to change our booking a few times due to a loss in the family they were flexible and did everything they could. Kayaks and snorkels can be borrowed from reception, the...

This was the second time I stayed at Sagu and I enjoyed it as much as first time. The rooms are cozy with spartan furnishings and have balcony and great view over the bay. The staff are forthcoming and deliver high and personal service. The breakfast as well as the food served in the restaurant are tasty and well prepared....

Great colourful place. Be nice to have some English breakfast tea bags. Staff really helpful. Air conditioner in the room was difficult to work out. I would go again. Look in trees to spot monkeys and birds.

Very nice place hold by a welcoming English speaking team. Ideal location with a close beach and peaceful surroundings. Rooms very clean, nice and with an incredible view over sea and palm trees. At 5pm they offer tea for the sunset with homemade cakes. No internet or TV in rooms, but this is what it gets to be relaxed. Internet...

Great hotel, perfectly situated, close to village yet secluded and quiet, very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful experience. Rooms comfortable and clean. Breakfast very tastey. This was the final leg of our Brasil vacation and a fantastic way to end it.

We loved the beauty and pace of Ilha Grande. I think the Sagu is the best place to stay. We do not speak Portuguese and the staff at Sagu were all very helpful. They arranged transportation to the island and back to our hotel in rio. The hostel Rosaria also helped us plan perfect day trips and excursions around the...

Sagu is indeed a very nice little resort. It is located 10-15 min down the beach from the main village, which is just perfect. The rooms are of a good size and have a bayview. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good. Only one complaint - the restaurant is not worth a visit. However, there...

I stayed here for 10 days in December 2015. The location is great: lovely sea views, nice little rooms. However, the place feels like it's run by a bunch of interns, which isn't OK for the price they charge! The kitchen is awful -- the cook takes more than an hour to make you a plate of overcooked spaghetti. Half...
