Very good place to go and relax for a couple of days the staff is great and friendly, the property is clean and in the middle of the nature, so you will be in the middle of birds, lezards, and other squirrels there are different activities, in addition to the natural pond, such as bow&arrow, volley ball, tennis, rappel etc... You will feel like you are a guest on a good family home. Everybody makes you feel welcome since you arrive. You may even have some trouble finding the check-in desk. That's because that isn't one! Just ask somebody on the living room were the owners are, and they are going to help you. But don't make a mistake, probably... More

Imagine a Paradise (Paraíso) where a single family takes care of everything. Make your dreams sweet with the natural cascade symphony. This Paradise higher than the thousand meter mark is close to the heaven, just waiting for you. And with the advantage you've not to wait til your last day... Ask for Borracha. Let me just make a quick overview if you ever decide to visit this wonderful place. Transportation: Venture and take public transportation. I stayed in Ipanema for a couple of days, then took a cab to the bus station before heading to Petropolis. Not many people speak English but it is way cheaper than taking a cab all the way... More

If you don't, then Pousada Paraíso is the closest thing you can have to this. The place is amazing, fantastically integrated in the local topography, full of nice things to do, from a creative and delicious natural swimming pool, to archery and mini-golf. Excellent for couples, with or without children but also for people just looking for a escape of... More

Scattered around Rio de Janeiro in a 2-3 radius there are loads of pousadas that claim tranquility and hiking trails and charm - and so often are bitterly disappointing. The Paraiso massively exceeded our expectations. Lovely setting, amazing natural rock pool, tons of activities for the kids (archery, minigolf, pingpong etc) but discreet so it never felt like Disneyland, great... More

Everything everyone has written about this pousada is totally true - The chalets are set up in a very harmonious way with the nature - you can feel the chalets were build to accommodate nature and not the other way round - having said that the chalets are top notch with great beds, fire place stocked with a whole bunch... We stayed at Pousada Paraiso for 2 nights with our three young children (aged 6,5 and 3). The accommodation and food were both good but what made the pousada extra special was the welcome and hospitality of the owners and staff. There are plenty of activities to suit all ages and the owners are extremely knowledgeable about the natural habitat... More

A charming place, sourranded by mountains. My wife and I usually go there to relax. The owners do their best to make you feel at home. Another good point is the quality of the food: many ingreadients are from their own vegetable garden. We highly recommend this place.

“We stayed at the Colibri chalet but I think it is worth going for the chalets that have a jacuzzi as I think they may be larger. The price difference is not a lot if you go for the jacuzzi or not so might as well have the jacuzzi!”

“For a family of 5 we took 2 small adjoining chalets each with a double bed. Sleeping arrangements worked perfectly (with a mattress on the floor for third child) but we didn't have a seating area. Next time will probably try to book the larger house with 2 bedrooms and a seating area. In saying that, the restaurant and lounge areas are absolutely fantastic for sitting around!”
