I've stayed in dozens hostels in Rio over past months. This one is one of the worst. You can find much better places, for smaller prices, even in hostel's neighbourhood. Both dorms and private rooms are very small (unlike on photos), beds are not very comfortable and look dirty. Before booking we were informed at the reception by the "red"...

We are very sorry for you guys not liking the apartment and any inconvenience caused. The flat is in an apart hotel which is truly 3 blocks away from the hostel and we always indicate people to not cross the tunnel, the same was explained for your group as well as a free transfer was offered. Anyways, we do understand...

It's very cozy. Receptionists are the best. The cleaning staff is great too and very polite and careful. Everything runs well and You fell at home. It is near The Tube/Subway, taxis and restaurants. Close to the beach. Receptionists are so polite and kind and they do everything to make you feel comfortable. there is a nice swimming poll too....

It's unfortunate that this hostel lacks minor refurbishments as the staff are all very nice and helpful, and made my stay a lot easier for me. The place is also very very close to the famous Copacabana beach, just a 5 min. Walk, and has everything else just round the corner. Eg. Supermarkets, pharmacies, emergency center etc. From a negative...

This is really a commercial stay. If you looking for private time with the workers, you wont get it. The workers are very professional and know their stuff. There is always someone to assist you with anything. Capharina free Thursdays is fabulous, drink as many from 07:00 to 08:00. Will recommend for any age. Top rooms are quite a climb,...

Great environment, the staff was incredibly helpful (Manuela you are an angel!), breakfast was good, rooms were clean, there was a happy hour with free caipirinhas I could go on. It was honestly the best hostel experience I have ever had.

I stayed here for two nights with a friend. We booked the Sana room which was in the attic and not somewhere you would want to spend a lot of time. It's big enough to store baggage and sleep but the beds aren't exceptionally comfortable. However, the price is decent for the location (it's a 10 minute walk to the...

Very happy with this hostel, all the staff were very friendly most of which spoke English, breakfast (although very basic) was included. 5 minute walk to the metro so getting around Rio is easy. They also offer transfers to all the popular destinations nearby.

Had a great stay here! There is a roof terrace with free Caiphirinas every night, good vibe. The hostel is cute and only a few minutes walking from Copacabana. The breakfast was not too impressing, but ok for a budget stay. We were not too lucky with the room (had the loft) and I might have gotten bed bugs. However, this...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
