Neighbourhood
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, you walk across the road and you are on the beach. Hotel caters well for the beach goers, but has small pool with some fantastic views of Sugar Loaf Mountain and all of Copacabana beach. The staff very good, and tolerant of the beach

Sat at the end of Copacabana Beach, the hotel has lovely views along the beach. Lovely restaurant, good breakfast, excellent service. The hotel rooms are very comfortable, but the airconditioning is noisy and sound proofing from room to room could be a little better, but overall

The hotel is steps from the entrance to one of the slums of Rio. There is a constant parade of homeless drugged out people in front. When I stepped out to make a phone call I witnessed an armed robbery 75 feet from the hotel entrance. My brother and sister in law who lives in

Dear Mr. Jimcpepe, Thank You very much for your review at Trip Advisor! I would like to say that I respect your opinion in the same way as so many other guests who have written about our hotel and about our city. On the other hand, I would like you to allow me to clarify some points quoted in your comments. In fact, we have a "community" about 800 meters from our hotel where many of the employees of the entire Copacabana trade, including in hotels, live. The whole city of Rio de Janeiro has "communities" like these. Problems of possible robberies occur in any major city, Rio, New York, Paris, etc. Fortunately, not all people went through situations as reported in your review, just look at so many other Trip Advisor reviews not only from this hotel but also from other hotels in our city and you can see them reporting on whether they feel secure in our city. I do not hide that we have problems like any other big city. I would also like to clarify that they have not allowed your friends access to the pool bar at the roof. Two words clarify this point: safety and comfort. At the time that you were staying here in our hotel we had approximately 360 guests in the hotel and if only 1/4 of these guests carried only a friend would be impracticable the traffic of elevators and the comfort of our guests in the pool area. On the security side, although this was not your case, we need to be careful with people looking to join the hotel with guests. Often, some guests try to bring people they barely know in the city to the hotel and they may behave erratically causing friction and discomfort with other guests. Therefore, the rule must be followed by all. I apologize if we did not meet your expectations, but, rest assured that we will always be trying to make our guests' stay a very pleasant experience. Sincerely Yours, William F. Rodrigues General Manager

Dear Mr.Tony, There are several options as stated below by other Trip members. As it is your first time, we suggest you use the train that takes you to the Christ, because, it is a beautiful tour. To buy in advance and with set time you can access the website of "Corcovado Train" (tremdocorcovado). Another option is through the concierge of our hotel who hires a tour agency that will take them from the hotel and bring them back including the ticket. And a third option would be to go directly to Praça do Lido (Copacabana Beach 2 kilometers from the hotel) where there is an exclusive transport with Vans that will take you up there. These tickets you must buy together with the Vans. Our reception can give you more information. If you need any further information we will be at your disposal. Sincerely Yours, William F. Rodrigues
