Beautiful hotel. Lovely pool and outdoor seating areas. Excellent service with top notch food and drink offerings. Really enjoyed spending a couple of evenings here and would highly recommend as a bit of respite from the hustle and bustle of Copacabana.
great hotel but avoid their restaurant or you risk unpredictable wait times at best. even drinks and bread take 20 mins to serve. we waited for our food at lunch once for 1 hour 10 minutes. and we still got charged in our bill for...More

The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful
draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

Breakfast was lovely and we had a huge selection. We enjoyed dinner at Mee, the Asian restaurant which was superb but pricey. We also had pre dinner drinks by the pool on 2 nights and the prices were as you would expect of a 5 star luxury hotel. Service was excellent. If you are really concerned about cost then have drinks and dinner outside of the hotel but it would be nice to experience eating dinner at least once here.
I'm so sorry. I just saw this. I assume every room has a hair dryer. Belmond properties have wonderful amenities. As for gluten-free food, the dining options are very varied, so I'm sure he will be fine.
