The location of the hotel was so close to the beach and you have a stunning scenery from the rooms. We stayed on the 11th floor. The breakfast setting could have been better. The coffee was good and the rest of the breakfast was average. The cleaning and room service was great. If you need service for ironing, they deliver it to your room. They give towels for the beach. The pool at the roof top is small but you can enjoy the nice weather on the sunbed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We had a pleasant stay at Windsor. We stayed for three nights. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. The location is great for Barra da Tijuca beach, which is more secluded and less crowded than Copacabana/Ipanema, and a very beautiful beach. But still you can get to all the Rio spots easily by car/taxi and you can explore beyond Barra, like Grumari, Recreio and Prainha beaches. Lots of nice restaurants around (I recommend Picanha Etc!). There's also a pharmacy nearby. We had room service one night and the food was very tasty and very large portions. The breakfast was nice, but the restaurant was a bit dark and the furniture was a bit dark too. Needed more windows or brighter decorations. The breakfast did not have a coffee machine, just filter coffee. Another point is that the AC is very strong, so bring a jacket! I expected more of the rooftop. I was expecting a nice pool bar with nice vibes, but the bar was just really a towel pick up and drop off location and not a lot going on. But overall a nice stay!

First of all I would like to emphasize the support form Carla in the front desk! Carla, thank you so very much. My experience was very good since the first day, and Carla is responsible for the good impression since the beginning of my 2 nights stay.

Windsor Oceanico was a great choice as I traveled to a conference that was taking place exactly at the Windsor Conference Center, both are in the same building. The rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast is also very good. The fitness center in the top floor is good enough to do my exercises, but next time I am going to take advantage of the beautiful beach right in front of the hotel!! Really good to be that close.

I needed a corporative taxi and also a street taxi on different days and the hotel staff helped me with both, with very good drivers who took me safely and fast to the destinations I needed.

thank you, I definitely recommend it.

We picked Windsor because ratings and assumed high standards from bigger hotel chain. Don’t make the same mistake! Personnel in this hotel did zero effort to make our visit pleasant.

We tried ordering sparkling wine ready to our rooms on arrival, no answer from hotel, only after two emails and a mid-night call to the hotel, they informed us via email that this is not possible.

Waiters at the pool area ignored customers constantly, forgot/ignored the orders and never apologized for endless waiting.

At the departure day we asked to pay for late checkout in the other rooms we booked, as our flight was leaving late in the evening. Reception said no, without any explanations, even without asking our room number. After couple of hours we asked again with the same result. Only after calling the reception from the room, this was somehow magically possible with 50% of standard rate for 6 more extra hours. (note! rooms were available for booking online all the time for the same day)

Hotel itself was a dissapointment for many parts as well. Absolutely horrible breakfast area one can only describe as ”cacophony”. Breakfast completely lacked fresh vegetables and the ”menu” was exactly the same every morning.

Pool water was absolutely discusting. Brownish in color with thick layer of tanning oil on top.

Poor central air conditioning in rooms. Turning the temperature up or down had no effect at all.a

Don’t ruin your vacation with the Windsor Hoteis. They need to understand what hospitality means first.

This hotel is an hotel for conventions, for businesspeople. Yeah yiu do not read that on booking.com. As a non portugese speaking person you are not welcome as all services are in Portugese. Only paying at check in goes fluently in English. All tv channels are in portugese, subtitles in spannish. A map of the area, not available. So as a tourist from europe without internet they leave you hanging.
Friends may not enter your room. So actualy its like a prison. I can understand safety rules and that a visitor has to be registered for example. But not that this. I did not see my friends here in 3 years because of covid. And now the hotel forced us to sit outside on a rainy day. Thank you for that.
If you made a complaint they simply ignore you. Problem solved.
So to all tourists I can only advise to stay away from this horror hotel. Do not be fooled by the wonderfull pool view. You will kill your good holliday vibes in a minute.

I do not recommend the Windsor brand because of their policies. I booked a reservation through a third party and accidentally put 1 person instead of 2. The difference on their partner's website between 1 and 2 people was only an extra 5 USD. But the HOTEL wanted me to charge about $150 USD to allow another person to sleep in the room with me. I had the same issue with a Marriott upcoming reservation for the same trip, called them and they added the other person without a cost, 0 hassle, but these guys here are vultures. Plus my friend had his bags in the room already, they didn't even let him go back to the room to grab his own stuff, treated us like we were criminals.

I've traveled to more than 40 countries and never had something like this happen to me. Usually hotels will go above and beyond to help their guests but these guys were careless. Im giving them 2 stars because they should follow guidelines of international hospitality but instead they have their own crazy rules

Other than this unfair rule the Hotel is actually nice, well located, great breakfast and great amenities.

Dear Mr Lucas, Thank you for sharing with us your impressions about our Windsor Oceânico Hotel and we are very grateful for all the notes. The difference to include the second person in the apartment is R$180.00 and not $150 USD, even so a special charge was given for R$100.00. We hope you return to our Hotel whenever you come to Rio de Janeiro. At your service, Fabio Pacheco General manager

Location is good, just 100m from the beach. Staff friendly and helpful but English skills are lacking which makes service frustrating particularly in the restaurant area. Booked a sea view room. Ha ha ha. You had to stand at the window and look right to see the sea as an apartment block is right in front of the building. Make sure you get a higher floor if you book a sea view. Check in and out is a bit like trying to check in to Fort Knox, takes forever and there rarely seems to be enough staff on the front desk. If they fix the basics this would be a great hotel worth revisiting but not as it currently operates. PS. Complained about the “sea view” room I booked and got moved to a higher floor which had a better view.

I’d give 4.5 stars if I was allowed but not quite 5. The pandemic caused a few issues (bar been closed early and no 24 hour room service) and I had a few very minor issues-One day my water wasn’t replaced and on another I ordered room service and one of the items didn’t arrive. This happened another day but the guy realised and went back. The room was a double delux and was amazing with a great view and duel aspect. Roof top pool is great and although I didn’t use the gym there is a small one if needed. The staff were all helpful and polite and the food was good as well as the breakfast. Always felt safe and secure and the cleaners always did a great job.

Hey, Jennifer. I strongly advice you to go to one of those TAXI stands, inside the airport, and buy your ticket to wherever you plan to go. Rio taxis ( yellow ones ) can be tricky, sometimes ( specially when called on the streets ). Company taxis are more reliable. If you have any other question, I'll be happy to help, if I can. Have a nice trip.
