Hello I have stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and first impression are that hotel is in the centre and it's very easy to get everywhere by subway or walk and have great breakfast option. Reception is very nice with lobby and there is plenty spaces to relax with drink of you want to be away from bedroom. It's...

While this hotel has lost its former glory, one can still see that it was once a 4-star hotel. The staff were extremely professional, particularly in the restaurant. They were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with yummy scrambled eggs, fresh and sweet fruit and other good variety of selections. The location was the reason why I chose...

If you are looking for a modern hotel do not go to the Gran Corona. This hotel is old style, vintage, but this is its charm. The rooms are showing their age, but they are clean and comfortable, breakfast is good (although a bit repetitive ), the restaurant is good, and in fact known in the area. The WiFi line...

Friendly Staff. Comfortable. Rooms a little dated but sufficient. Good Location for visiting everything in Sao Paulo, Everyone seems to complain about the area being unsafe?, however it is no less unsafe than any other city in the world, as long as you do not advertise that you are a Tourist and you walk around in a group or not...

Old and tired hotel, no upgrades were made for the last 30 - 35 years... It is definitely not a 4 star hotel, but rather 2/ max 3 stars. We were not provided even with the shampoo (for the suites only...seriously). Very uncomfortable bed. Crib for the baby was old and smelled like urine. Not recommended at all

ok, the hotel is not new, but certainly in good condition, in an excellent location, 150 yards from Republica Metro and our 11th floor room was absolutely clean, new large bathroom and very comfortable large living area something "new" hotels would charge 3 times as much for . Anything comparable we looked at in the area cost 50 to 80%...

Stayed 2 nights in The Gran Corona Sao Paulo. The hotel itself is very central and clean but looking slightly dated and tired. The staff were all very friendly and tried as best to help in English. I don't think we will be in Sao Paulo again , not a lot to do or see, just happened to have an...

No hesitation in recommending this hotel which is perfectly located 1 minute from Praca da Republica. The metro station is that same one minute away and the stop for the airport bus is just 4 minutes away on the other side of the square. Everything was just so easy. Thanks to the location of the Gran Corona, we arrived via...

Staying in Republica

Neighbourhood Profile
Republica
Part of the historical centre of São Paulo, República was once a fancy residential area. República Square holds a craft and food fair every weekend, right by the subway entrance. Nearby, one of the neighbourhood’s main attractions is the Italian Building, where you can see the city from the 42nd floor. The Copan Building also deserves a close look, with 1,160 apartments and a huge floor area that inspired filmmakers and other artists. To get the feeling of São Paulo in the beginning of the 1900s, visit the Municipal Theatre – you will be amazed by its architecture. The area also features several galleries. República is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.
