Everything about this stay was first rate.
Staff: was incredible-everyone was friendly. Front desk, bar staff, fitness center, bell staff etc. The breakfast team blew us away-the ladies behind the partitions serving food were SO nice and friendly, and obviously knowledgeable with the food and recommendations. Hostess and servers were great too, and as an included Marriott elite breakfast was a great perk.
Fitness center: HUGE. One of the biggest hotel gyms I've ever experienced with everything you could ask for. Pool temp was nice and warm, although pool area small, but on nice rooftop.
Club lounge: Was closed, but we were able to get in and look around and it was nice and big.
Room: We had a small suite and it was nice and spacious, and I really loved there was a window in the bathroom (and their bath products smelled great!) Small touch, but loved that they had put several bottles of water in the fridge so that it was cold on arrival. And we really appreciated the late check out for our late flight.
Location: In a very nice area of the city. There are several small markets nearby that are within walking distance if you wanted to grab drinks and snacks. HIGHLY recommend a restaurant about 2 blocks down called Gula Gula-the food was excellent, reasonably priced and lovely ambiance.
Lastly, the hotel really had high Covid standards and all employees were great about following protocols.
There is a reason the hotel is rated so highly! Would definitely return.

We stayed in room 1709, which is one of the corner suites. Bed is separated from the couch/ living room. The large window in the bedroom is nice but the bathroom felt small and dark since there was no window or natural light in the bathroom. Shower was small. Room was a bit dated but not too bad. Amenities are great! Rooms are cleaned daily, small water bottles replenished.

We also tried the included breakfast. Any egg order (omelette, fried eggs, etc) need to be ordered with waiter. It can take a bit , especially if it’s busy during the breakfast prime time.

Location of hotel is superb. One block away from Avenue Paulista, 10 min walk from the Contemporary Art museum, stores and supermarket are in 5 min walking distance. 20 min drive from Congonhas airport.

Staff are friendly, bar at the lobby can be crowded. Valet guys are attentive. Great hotel to stay at if you’d like to stay central in São Paolo.

The Renaissance Sao Paulo is located right next to the main Paulina avenue and in the nice garden district full of high-end shopping and restaurants. About a 20 min drive from the domestic airport and 40 min drive to the international airport, it's not too far after a long flight in. The location can't be beat, and you'll definitely see the hotel as it has a commanding view of the local area.

The hotel is what you expect from a top Marriott hotel in a developing country, huge luxurious lobby with a large bar, snack area, and plenty of seating area. The check-in area was fairly busy (as expected of a large busy hotel), but titanium members can go to club lounge area to check-in. Lots of floors, and lots of elevators but you may be waiting a bit for elevators every so often.

i stayed at this property 3 times in late 2020. In all cases, i found the rooms and service fantastic, and property to be very well maintained. note: I have status with Bonvoy which allowed them to do an upgrade (which was much appreciated).

first, with regard to Covid, they have very good protocols, and everyone wears a mask (i didn't see any guests or staff without). Housekeeping is available, but only if you call and are not in the room. Room service and requests for additional items worked well and was fast on multiple occasions.

I would like to particularly call out the staff at the lobby sushi restaurant. Both the manager and the staff are very good. They recommended some local Brazilian appetizers which are now my favorite. Very friendly and very good.

Also, the front desk staff were very helpful... from directions, ATM help, restaurant suggestions, USA electrical adapter, etc... Always there to help.

The fitness center attached to the spa is top notch. I used it most days. They enforce mask protocols and have a wide variety of machines and equipment. Highly recommended.

the only slightly negative comment i have is with the spa. I had an 80 minute sports massage. The massage was excellent (very hard pressure), but it was only 70 minutes (from when i got in the room to leaving the room). So, that was a little dissapointing.

the renaissance is in a great location, safe, and highly reccomended.

My family and I have traveled to many places around the globe, and this is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They greet you by name and with a smile, and are always available to help if you need anything. They go above and beyond to make their guests feel like superstars.
If the staff alone isn’t reason enough for the 5 star review, here are a few more reasons.
The rooms are ample and have a refrigerator and a Nespresso coffee maker. The bathrooms have both a large shower and a bath. The cleaning staff is fabulous and exceeds expectations. I’d like to give a special thank you to Cesar, who took care of our room during this stay. The care he took of our things is more than we would do for ourselves.
And the food...wow. Breakfast has all the things you never knew you wanted. Make sure you stay enough days to be able to eat all that is offered (so about a month). The staff again greets you with a smile and by name. Their memories are shockingly good. If you happen to be a Marriott member with access to the lounge, I highly recommend the “happy hour”, which includes an excellent open bar (and bar tender) and enough food that it could be your dinner.
I’d also like to give a special thank you to Maria Luiza, Margaret, Ana Claudia, and the rest of the staff at Terraço Jardins and at the lounge for their hospitality. I’ve never felt so at home.
In short, you can’t go wrong here. Oh, and I can’t forget the staff that helps with parking and cabs. Again, like the rest of the staff, expect the best. Always at the ready, always at your disposal, always anticipating your needs.

My wife and I, from NY, USA, stayed at the Renaissance the first week in July 2023 and had a wonderful stay.

From arrival thru departure, a week later, we were comfortable and attended to, but never hovered-over.

Our room (13th floor) was very comfortable, cleaned and fluffed-up every day, with soaps etc refilled.

The staff was so nice…we wanted to make a gift purchase for a relative and the lady at the front desk generously took the time to understand what we were looking for and called a shop for us to speak in Portuguese on our behalf and make sure we’d find what we were looking for.

It’s been a while since I’ve been impressed with a hotel breakfast, but the Renaissance spread was wonderful. Fresh fruit, breads, sweets, juices, eggs made to order, etc. It was delightful.

I hesitate to call someone out by name (since everyone was so good to us), but James, who we met at breakfast most days, was so proactively helpful giving us advice/answering our q’s about São Paulo …and ⚽️ culture 😀. Thank you, James!

The hotel location, a block off Paulista, and close to public trans, was very convenient and a nice quiet break from the bustle of the city.

We couldn’t be happier with our stay.

I was in Sao Paulo for at least 9 days and we stayed at Renaissance at least 6 of those days, I was joining a friend. While it was a work related trip for her we couldn't be more grateful to some of the staff members due to their care in making us feel comfortable. Most of the staff was very very helpful but the staff in the kitchen and lounge areas were the nicest and the most accommodating. Margarete and Eduardo are just some of the names that come to mind. Margarete did wonderful omelettes and Eduardo was mostly there in the evenings. They understood what we were requesting even tough it was difficult for us to speak the language. They were both very nice and attentive. I feel very grateful for the facilities but mostly to these two staff members.

For a busy business hotel as it was connected to a conference from what I could tell (I was in town for a wedding), it had great Club level breakfast buffet despite all the businessmen taking meetings in the same area. The gym was also quite large with a good range of options as well as fresh fruit to snack on. Security seemed to be on top of things even though a lot of people go in and out as I saw them stop someone who wasn't staying there. Daily cleaning service was a hit or miss unless you called down though.

The Renaissance was a no-brainer choice for me as it was 62,500 Marriott Bonvoy points for 3 nights over NYE. Because of this, I give this property its rating. The value of this property using points was definitely great--especially because of my suite upgrades. The manager was very helpful and assisted us with any need, including an upgrade to the Madison Suite and Waverly Suite. Both were on the 25th (top) floor and offered Club Lounge Access (on the 23rd floor) and downtown views of Sao Paulo. The Club Lounge was nicely sized and had pretty good food options, but it was very crowded. The hotel was super on top of their customer service game and was always around to answer questions. The Spa was very nice and had a hottub for hotel guests to use, but the pool deck was a little rundown and can definitely use a makeover. In regard to location, the property is around the corner from Avenue Paulista, multiple Starbucks', and Oscar Freire street. Although my party didn't enjoy Sao Paulo as much due to limited activities, if we ever happen to be in Sao Paulo again I will definitely return to the Renaissance.

This is one of my favorite hotels in the world I’ve stayed at - and it’s mainly due to the excellent service provided by every staff member I encountered in this hotel. From the moment I checked in and was offered a beverage of my choice, shown a map of the area which was explained in good detail, and sent to my very clean suite with a beautiful panoramic view I felt at home. The lounge was great too with very attentive and hard working employees and tasty food. The location is really perfect. There’s some great restaurants, a very nice Starbucks with a rooftop, and the paulista avenue is just 1 block away! I will definitely be returning to this hotel - mainly because of the employees who make it a great experience. Thank you (Obrigado)!

It’s a long ride to the airport. 40 min or more depending on traffic. But taxi and Uber is affordable.
