Hotel in great location next to a beginner slope. 2 minutes to ski down to all the lifts. Or 10 minutes to walk down to gondola. Bedrooms a little bit dated but spotlessly clean as is rest of hotel. Food is varied and of a good quantity. Spa area is a welcome after a day on the slopes. No tea making facilities in room so bring your own. All in all a great hotel in a great location
Clean rooms, nice hotel layout, lovely spa area. Excellent skiing Lovely restaurants on mountain Lifts not too busy Hotel staff have no idea about customer service. They lack interest, are rude, and dismissive of customers. These people do not know that smiling requires less muscle activity than blank glares! At dinner they insist on a cash payment for any drinks, even water! So unless you pop upstairs to get your wallet, you go thirsty!’ Food, is tasteless beige filler food, cardboard and wallpaper paste, although the fresh fruit available at dinner, was a lifesaver! I booked this hotel as they have 9.1 on Booking.com, how the hell they achieved this I have no idea!
Not one to leave a bad review, but after a week in the Club hotel Yanakiev I am astounded as to how it achieved 4 and a half stars on trip advisor. Pros: Clean hotel Nice reception staff Ski in ski out - very convenient Cons: Unwelcoming restaurant and bar staff. No smiles or greetings - I think the staff made it very clear they do not care about people returning. Extremely small ski boot room, 2m x 2m at a push Food basic and not always hot If you are unsure whether to book this hotel, I would save the hassle and go for the alternative option (as I wish I had done).
I will start off with the positives. This hotel is situated quite centrally to the restaurants and slopes, which makes things very convenient. The rooms are clean and quite charming in their own way. The maids are friendly and reception staff are alright. On the negative side, the dinner, breakfast and bar staff are blunt and quite rude when you make simple requests such as water. There was not one evening where the staff came to take a drink order at dinner. Not impressed with the customer service at all.
We picked this hotel for the ski in ski out option, and the reviews had been great. On arrival at the hotel we did not realise how far from the main part of the town it is, and that you had a killer of a hill to walk up and down. Is it suitable for people in wheelchairs?? We didn’t think it was, yes there are a few ramps but the lifts where tiny. There were a few members of staff that were great, one guy who worked behind the bar was ok and a lovely lady I think her name might have been Helena she was behind the bar and in the restaurant. She made us feel very welcome, but the other staff in the restaurant chose to ignore us and trying to get a drink with our meal was almost impossible. Now the food was terrible, more often than not it was cold or just warm and as we were half board we decided to eat out instead at an extra cost to ourselves. The hotel itself was nice and the rooms where better than we have had before but we went as two couples and we asked for two slope view rooms, these where different in size so one had a slightly bigger room and bathroom. The hairdryers were beyond useless and you got a hot hand trying to use them, the whole hotel was so hot you could walk around in shorts and t-shirts. Was it worth the extra money we paid to stay there ??? No not really…
