Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am currently on the final day of my stay at Masula (formerly Yanakiev) Hotel and I would like to leave a huge amount of praise for the staff at this perfect hotel in Borovets. LOCATION - This is a perfect ski-on/ski-off location with convenient access to their ski school, learning slopes, button lifts and chair lifts. SERVICE - I had a couple of unforeseen circumstances which meant we had to be a fussier customer than I'd like and leave a day earlier than anticipated, but the staff were impeccable, courteous and nothing was trouble to them. The restaurant staff, bar, cleaning and reception staff made our stay comfortable and pleasant. Big thank you to Bilyana and her colleagues on reception for accommodating our requests with nothing but care & a willingness to help. FACILITIES - We used the spa/pool area which was clean, adequate and very useful after a morning's worth of skiing. We even paid for massages which were of an excellent standard. Overall, thank you Yanakiev/Masula for making our stay a positive experience ❤️👏🏽

Booking.com will not publish my review which suggests the scores are manipulated. We were allocated rooms 210 and 225 each room for 3 people. However the Z beds were old and kept collapsing. In fairness one was replaced after the 3rd night. When comparing the room sizes on the fire plan (pictured), we were given the smallest rooms with barely enough room to walk into the room. Breakfast was uninspiring and by the 3 day it was hard to get motivated to get up for it. We were told that since we booked through Booking.com the sauna and steam rooms were extra cost. After showing the reception our booking they conceded it was a mistake and removed the charges from the room. We will say the staff were generally friendly and helpful. It appears Booking.com guests are treated differently to others!!

First time skiing and visiting Bulgaria and couldn’t have asked for more. Hotel is in a super spot just by the slope. Helpful and friendly staff in all areas. Our room is overlooking the slope with a balcony. Clean and tidy and the most amazing pillows and mattresses. Do treat to a massage the chap is fabulous!

Lovely clean hotel, really comfortable beds nice balcony looking over the slopes. Breakfast good cereal, toast, cheese, meats, hot eggs, bacon, sausage. Pancakes 2 mornings. Reception and all the staff could not be more helpful. They all have a very good level of English. Ski hire in the hotel well worth it very helpful and if you hire from them they store and warm boots over night.

Stayed 16-19th March 2022 - We have visited Borovets 6 or 7 times now to ski, usually staying in mid range hotels. This time I wanted to stay in luxury, with the least distance to carry skis and poles to the slope. This hotel was everything I wanted, it really lived up to what I was expecting. The beds were comfortable and super kind size, what me and my wife are used to at home. We stayed in suite 207 with a slope view, the room was spacious and clean. The spa facilities were excellent, pool, Sauna, Steam room, hot stone beds and an Ice cave (ice cave was out of use for Covid reasons, this did not make any difference to us) It was nice it be able to unwind and relax here after skiing all day, before an hours sleep in our quiet room and then out for food and drinks. The staff were really helpful, everything we needed was acted on immediately. I will not stay at any other hotel when returning to Borovets after finding this gem of a hotel. It may be a little bit more than other rival hotels (which I have stayed with, and they are all ok, as I have stayed in them more than once) cost wise, but trust me worth every extra penny. If your going to Borovets and want to stay in comfort with heat facilities book this hotel. I am fussy and a hotel snob, I can honestly not fault this hotel.

Had a great weeks ski holiday early March lots of fresh snow. The staff were helpful and friendly, rooms were nice and had a great view of the slope. The hotel is in a great location right by the slope and placed away from the bustle of the nightlife.

A really great hotel in a fantastic ski to door location on the slopes. Breakfast was lovely, rooms were comfortable. Iliana and her team were all friendly, polite and helpful. Couldn’t ask for better service. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thank you.

We spent a week at this hotel, having skied in many places, we found this to be perfect for beginers in our party, and the more experienced had enough to keep them busy. the location is perfect for sking, striaght on the skis and on the slopes, at night straight off and into the bar. The food was more than adequate, and normally we eat out alot, but stayed most evenings for dinner. Yes the culture of the staff is different, as i have read alot of reviews, but they are all very helpful, reading some of the reviews its normally from people who don't really talk to people in a nice manner in the first place, we found the staff all very polite. The rooms are perfect and clean, and its a very chilled out hotel Spa services are really good, and very cheap, we hammered the bar, and spent about £200 additional to our room, Very cheap!. You are not paying Alps prices, so dissapointing reading some silly reviews. would highly recomend it, does exactly what it says on the tin!!

I would highly recommend this hotel for the perfect ski in ski out location. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms with beautiful views. Comfy beds and nice powerful hot showers. The hairdryers are rubbish, defo bring your own! Great swimming pool. We had massages which were wonderful! Food is very good with a nice variety each day. There was always something that everyone in our party of 6 could eat and enjoy!
