My trip started with a rescue mission! The bus I was on dropped me 15km outside of Bago. Late night, holiday traffic, no cabs/no more buses. MiMi and her sons kindly came to my rescue-picked me up and welcomed me to this beautiful hotel. I had planned this stay as a little treat between treks and only wish I could...

Feeling stuck in Myanmar? No time to go very far? Try this lovely home from home hotel. Second time of staying here with lovely Mimi and her helpful, thoughtful staff in charge. Food, breeze and views wonderful. Rooms are clean and restful on the eye. Can't recommend this place enough. And it only takes an hour and half to reach...

I had lunch here on my way to Golden Rock. The hotel is amazing: a charming colonial wool building, well decorated and surrounded by nature. The food was delicious and the menu offers many healthy, traditional Myanmar dishes. Every dish was fresh and tasty. The owner Mi Mi is very friendly and she took great care of us. It was...

We stayed two nights at Han Thar Gardens. Because we were the only guests, we were upgraded to a room in the main building when they saw that I was recovering from broken knee surgery. They felt we would be more comfortable in one of their 50 foot high ceiling rooms rather than take a longer walk to the rooms...

We came here for a weekend away from Yangon and loved it. Though definitely not cheap, the service was great, the food was lovely (the vegetable spring rolls are the very best I've had), and the grounds are beautiful. The manager communicated with us very well and was extremely helpful with advising us on our stay. Wifi would have been...

Mimi the owner runs a tight ship here! The service is attentive and polite, the menu interesting and innovative and the hotel beautifully decorated, clean and airy. As a weekend getaway from Yangon Han Thar Gardens is perfect, and a handy place to stay and explore Bago from. The garden area is quiet and perfect to relax in and stare...

If you’re looking for a place to recover, far from the urban hustle but still in the height of comfort, then Han Thar Gardens is highly recommended. We had a great weekend, spending our mornings visiting around and our afternoons chilling out. Congratulations to Mimi for this beautiful project – Scenary is splendid, rooms are superb, food is excellent. Many...

After a 14 days trip down the lovely river Ayeyarwaddy with its beautiful sites and river banks, we wanted to spend 2 nights around Bago for visiting the Golden Rock. Our choice after searching in the internet with Han Thar Gardens was just big luck (we booked „Grand Deluxe Rooms“)! The charming Mi Mi (owner) offered us the best room:...

I really enjoyed the ambience of the Han Thar Gardens. The manager and owner are great hosts and the food on the menu is interesting and more typically Myanmar style. The rooms are well appointed and provide everything you need. I love the original art work and the style of furnishings. It is more like a large house rather than...

We had a wonderful stay in Han Thar gardens at Christmas. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel feels more like a big house than a hotel and everyone is most welcoming. The rooms are bright and the high ceilings give a great sense of space in addition to helping keep the rooms cool. The food is excellent...
